I got a solid understanding of their idiocy when I sat through a lecture by Ramsey Clark at a symposium my freshman year of college. It was right around the time of the Iran Hostage crisis and after he had gone to Iran in violation of a presidential ban on travel there. The naive nature of his remarks were so ludicrous that I thought I was listening to a kindergarten teacher instead of a former attorney general of the US.

I couldn’t agree with you more. For some naive reason I always believed that the only difference between the two parties was philosophical as well. We believed in less taxes, less government and they believed the opposite. In my mind this was harmless in the big picture and was good because it gave way to a debate where the laws came out fair.

Nowadays its a different game and with each passing day and each piece of legislation it becomes clearer and clearer that the democraps do not have the interests of America at heart. They seem to only care about power, political clout, revenge, and sucking up to an enemy in a way that will cause great harm to our way of life. I find that to be outrageous and heartbreaking.

I never would have dreamed, in my lifetime, that one of the two major political parties would turn treasonous. By the time I was in my early 20s I began to see serious philosophical differences I had with Liberalism, but never could I have imagined a major party could turn openly treasonous!

Along the line of thought in this thread I have a friend who is basically not political but very aware. She said if the dems continue to try to pass this kind of legislation she is going to become a muslim bashing activist. Part of that was jest of course but I believe it reflects alot of Americans views that instead of working for terrorism we need to work for Americanism.
