Amazingly, he unexpectedly left the target area after the call was made and before the missiile arrived. Rumors are that he got a call from someone in the interior ministry warning him. I DO very much blame Carter because I believe the hatred from the ME originates there. However, the problem itself did not escalate until the Clinton administration. There were more attacks on american interests during his administration than ever before. As for Bush Senior I did not vote for him a second time because I always felt he didn't finish the job. In hindsight I was right. I voted the third party candidate because I hoped it would make a statement. All valid points Ted.
