Incredibly Stupid: San Francisco, Fort Worth Suing Street Gangs

By: Pam On: Jul/29/07 - 5 Comments

I kid you not!

Fort Worth and San Francisco are among the latest to file lawsuits against gang members, asking courts for injunctions barring them from hanging out together on street corners, in cars or anywhere else in certain areas.

Do they carry membership cards?

The injunctions prohibit gang members from associating with each other, carrying weapons, possessing drugs, committing crimes and displaying gang symbols in a safety zone — neighborhoods where suspected gang members live and are most active. Some injunctions set curfews for members and ban them from possessing alcohol in public areas — even if they’re of legal drinking age.

Those who disobey the order face a misdemeanor charge and up to a year in jail. Prosecutors say the possibility of a jail stay — however short — is a strong deterrent, even for gang members who’ve already served hard time for other crimes.

Aren’t there already laws on the books for most of the items?

What a dumbass idea. They want to sue them? Like they are really going to get anywhere with that approach? What pansy came up with that idea?

They should tell the SFPD to kick their asses. Oh, I forgot, SFPD probably has too many pansies for that…

Oh, why not have SFL go out and love the gangs to death?

Hey, SFL, why don’t you treat the gangs like you want us to treat Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Al Qaeda. We will see how you ideas actually work,… or not.

For crying out loud: “The injunctions prohibit gang members from associating with each other, carrying weapons, possessing drugs, committing crimes and displaying gang symbols in a safety zone”.

It is already illegal to carry weapons, posess drugs, and comit crimes. But suddenly they are going to stop doing those things not because there are laws against them, but because the court orders them not to do it?

This is clearly from the same type of mind that thinks if we ban guns that criminals are suddenly going to obey. Never mind all those other laws that they are ready to break. Wow, this one will really get their attention…

    Truth is stranger than fiction…

Keep in mind folks that this is the same mentality that leads women to believe that a restraining order is more effective at protecting a woman from an abusive ex-spouse than a loaded 12 gauge. Or that law abiding citizens shouldn’t be allowed to own an effective means to defend themselves. At one point in time the citizens of San Francisco and Fort Worth would’ve taken a more proactive approach and lined a couple of rows of trees with the corpses of violent gang members. Unfortunately, the liberals would much rather have the streets lined with the bodies of unarmed, law abiding victims. When will the liberal politicos realize that criminals consider legal decrees more worthless than toilet paper. At least you can wipe your backside with toilet paper without irritation.
