Democratic Kansas Congresswoman Nancy Borda Walks out on General’s Positive Iraq Testimony While Democratic Senator James Clyburn Says “It would be a “real big problem for us” if Petraeus’s progress report is good”..All the While Murtha Is In Denial

By: Pam On: Jul/31/07 - 30 Comments

Allah is correct when he says us refers to the “democratic leadership” and not every democrat.

For the left a good progress report is no problem at all; they’ll shrug it off, dismiss Petraeus as a Bush stooge who’s probably racist and secretly gay, and go right on pounding on about withdrawal. For the leadership, a good report is a headache: it might encourage the Blue Dogs to side with the GOP to continue the mission, thereby leaving Pelosi with a howling anti-war base and no way to placate them. The “big problem,” in other words, is the nutroots’ absolute commitment to withdrawal colliding with facts that support a hope, however slender, of stabilizing the country if we stay on.

Click the here, select the second clip in the sidebar, and fast forward to 3:20 to watch. To his credit, Clyburn does go on to say that “none of us want to see a bad result in Iraq.” That’s a lie but a well meaning one. When you’re done, go read Bizzy Blog and see how Nancy Boyda dealt with her own case of cognitive dissonance.

I am beyond surprise with Murtha’s response..typical..pathetic, but typical! The best summation is this:

Remember: there’s no such thing as progress in Iraq, on any front. If someone tells you Ramadi is much more secure today than six months ago, show them the numbers on the daily power supply. If they tell you U.S. casualties are down this month despite the obvious jihadist incentive to launch a summer Tet, sneer at them about the monthly cost of the war. No good news can go unanswered, no matter how many qualifiers that news comes with.
As for the prospect of mass casualties after a U.S. pullout, that’s their problem.

ah yes. The traitors of the Left once again showing their colors.

Of course progress in Iraq would be bad for the DemokRat party. And progress in Iraq is good for America.

So what is good for America is not good for the Democrites. Therefore, the Democrites are not good for America.

    That sure was easy…

Someone may wish to remind the moronic Dem from Kansas exactly how much money Ft Reilly and Ft Leavenworth bring into the state. Someone should remind the fine union members who support these kind of antics exactly how many jobs can be made go away overnight if the defense department decides to close up shop in any state who’s “Representatives” want to make things tough for the military.

I’m certain that North Carolina or Texas would love another military installation as would most red states. Watch the dems run for the tall grass when their union supporters are told that all of the nice high paying government jobs on the military installations are heading south to warmer climes (just think of the green house gases that will be saved by not having to heat all of the buildings over 6 months of the year like they do in Colorado (Ft Carson), New York (Ft Drum), (Washington (Ft Lewis). Not to mention all of the housing that would then be available for new low income or homeless shelters in places like California (Defense Language Institute at Monterrey would make such a lovely homeless person housing facility, nevermind that it would lower property values over 50% overnight, it’d be for the children. if the Presidio in San Fran is still available even more homeless welfare recipients could move to Hanoi on the Bay.) Of course we could also outsource the rest of our small arms manufacturing to Europe and Asia. Those United Auto Workers members at the Colt plant in New Haven don’t really need those $30+/hour jobs anyway. They can make almost as much down at the 7-11 without soiling their hands by creating weapons for the horrible military. As can the employees at Beretta USA in Maryland.

2, Is a local econonmy propped up by a a war machine something to really embrace or even something to want in the first place? Taxpayer funded war communities aren’t really a beacon in a free market society, ya know. If all the community has is the equivelent of a current day death machine, well… not so awesome.

I guess there are folks in the Democratic party that wants the war to fail. That is shameful.
