The 35W Bridge Collapse

By: Pam On: Aug/2/07 - 9 Comments

I am amazed that more people were not killed. I will link to HotAir for the video of the bridge collapsing, and to Michelle for coverage of how everything unfolded. I will update this post as we learn valuable info, but at the present time….we really know nothing beyond a bridge fell.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those that lost loved ones and to those that were injured.

What a video. I sincerely hope everything goes well with the rescue efforts, etc. today. May God Bless the victims and the witnesses who will have to deal with this image the rest of their lives.

When I first heard the report, I immediately thought it was a terrorist attack. I realize it may still be too soon to tell and I don’t want to jump the gun but it reeks of Al Queda and their methods.

I thought the exact same thing Bon Bon, and i think they were way too quick to rule it out! JMO:-?

Peejz….I didn’t think they had ruled it out yet. I thought they were saying “it wasn’t an attack” to alleviate any panic or premature speculations (after all we know how rumors get started.) On Fox they were talking to an engineer who said he had NEVER seen anything like this in his life giving way to even more speculation. imo.

I still think the possibility of a terrorist attack is still feasible. Saw Ollie North on the news though and I will take his advice. Wait to see WHAT exactly happened to make the bridge collapse and take it from there.

Bottom line is that I’m one person who is not letting go of the terrorist theory. Not until proven otherwise.

    Hey, I’m Back.

I used to travel this bridge. My first thought was to be sure my brother wasn’t on it. He wasn’t.

Next thought, this is just like the I-95/Mianus River Bridge collapse. Democrats run Minnesota, and like Connecticut, divert road tax monies to keeping Democrats in power. It will happen anywhere Democrats are in power. Watch for a bridge collapse in California next.

Glad you are back PCD and happy to hear that your brother wasn’t on it…that being said…not so sure dems are all to blame, but there are more questions than answers on this incident….

7,8, I had another family reunion to attend. One of the cousins is dating a woman who is about 6′ 6″!

Just wait until you see the inspection budgets underfunded and where the DFL put the money they cut, and we are talking real cuts, not the imaginary cuts the Democrats bitch about.
