I’m going to stick around home. My wife doesn’t like to travel on holiday weekends.

I expect to see my mechanic school daughter this weekend and maybe my lazy son.

Good idea, PCD. Stay off the roads. We’re going to spend a lot of time in the pool (it’s over 100 deg. here).

SF Lib heading out to Kings Canyon National Park (south of Yosemite) to climb around in the Sierras and do some backpacking for the weekend.

    Gods country up there.

Also, I hope you all quietly thank the liberals of the 19th century for giving us this day off in honor of the American Worker.

“Labor Day is a United States federal holiday that takes place on the first Monday in September. The holiday began in 1882, originating from a desire by the Central Labor Union to create a day off for the “working man”. It is still celebrated mainly as a day of rest and marks the symbolic end of summer for many. Labor Day became a national holiday by Act of Congress in 1894.”

Here’s a random thought for the weekend: Anbyone getting really siuck of and piossed about spam, dreck, 419 and phishing scams via the Internet?

I get a fake PayPal phishing email about once a week. It is so easy to track down the link to a server. I forward these to PayPay, but I wonder what they really do with them?

I think it is time to start sending out hit teams to track down and kill these scammers. Watch the whole thing go away in six months…

6- This spam, malware, trojans and virus junk really sucks.
This is one of the few areas where I get conservative ticks: I support death row for the bastards that create that shit…
But not the comfortable stuff like an electric chair or similar- the old school: “drawn, hanged and quartered”… in slowmotion!!! <):)

I leave the City to go camping, I come back, and there is one less Republican Senator in Congress.

Wish that happened everytime I left town for a trip.

9, SFL, I wish every week there was one less Liberal starting with you. You appear to be smarter than the crap you choose to espouse.

My fervent wish for the United States is that one day I will see the end of Liberalism/Political Correctness as a substantial force in American society and politics.

It is a cancer that has been weakening America for the last 50 years or so. Thank God we still have young Americans willing to volunteer to serve their country or we would have been forced to surrender years ago. The Liberals and Pacifists in this country would long ago have been executed, the homosexuals and Hollywood elitists also beheaded.

I’ll bet few if any of them even comprehend what an extraordinary debt they owe to the members of the U.S. Armed Forces they despise and denigrate.

Robert, you’ve had the past 10+ years of Republican rule to show America what your party has “got”. And boy, did we see it: political corruption, conservative gay-sex scandals, reckless spending, draconian social convictions, international scorn, degraded national standing, and, oh, a sensless-unnecessary war in Iraq to name a few.

Apparently, the American voters didn’t like what they saw, because they punished the Republican Party by removing it from Congressional power, and soon, presidential power.

That said, I thinks its fair to say that we are witnessing the “end” of the Regean-Conservative movement and the return of Liberalism.

I am Conservative far more than Republican. I agree the Republicans screwed up, but in different ways than you list.

Political corruption? The “most ethical administration in history” (Klinton admin.) set a precedent that may never be exceeded. Sure we have Duke Cunningham, but you have Freezer Jefferson, Abscam Murtha, Harry “Land Deal” Reid, young DWI Kennedy, Al “Bagman, No Controlling Legal Authority” Gore and others (of course the Democrites protect these crooks). The main difference here is Republican scandal, even if it is manufactured (Plamegate) is leading news for weeks. Democrite corruption, if mentioned, is page A-12 for one day.

Your other points can be just as easily countered.

WHEN the Republicans get power back, and they will because once again the Democrites will receal themselves to be what they fundamentally are, and the voters will be reminded of why they cannot be trusted, here is what the Republicans should do:

    1. Use every tactic the Democrites have used to destroy, delay, confound, and obstruct the Democrites.
    2. Take off the gloves. Stop playing Good Old Boy. Openly attack the Democrites on every matter no matter how insignificant.
    3. The next President (Republican, of course) should fire every last Klinton holdover. Clean out the bureaucracies everywhere of the leakers, boll weevils, and underminers. Change the rules so they will get no pensions (they deserve none).
    4. Counter the propaganda of the MSM by instead using White House news conferences to point out the degenerate boll weevils within our midst. Highlight the Boll Weevil of the week (a Chapatraitor Kennedy, for example) by listing for public consumption their most recent actions and how they are damaging America. Require that every radio and TV station carry the broadcast as a condition of their license. They want fairness? Give ‘em fairness—right up their kazoos.

If the Republicans ever have any doubt as to what to do, the Republicans need only ask what would Gen. William T. Sherman do?

There’s the answer. Dirty? Low down? Not any lower than what the Democrites have been doing for 7+ years.

Perhaps when the Democrites are finally beaten down, broken, destroyed, they will realize it is time to stop the war they started and get back to the business of running America.
