UPDATE:Ahmadinejad says he’s visiting whether we like it or not! Officials Reject Ahmadinejad’s Bid To Visit Ground Zero…Columbia Welcome’s Him

UPDATE: The source says regardless of the NYPD’s rejection of the request for a Ground Zero tour, Iran’s president and his entourage will be accompanied by a Secret Service protective detail, a detail provided to all heads of state when they visit the United States.
Mayor Rudy Giuliani released the following statement on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
“Under no circumstances should the NYPD or any other American authority assist President Ahmadinejad in visiting Ground Zero. This is a man who has made threats against America and Israel, is harboring bin Laden’s son and other al-Qaeda leaders, is shipping arms to Iraqi insurgents and is pursuing the development of nuclear weapons. Assisting Ahmadinejad in touring Ground Zero – hallowed ground for all Americans – is outrageous.”
Senator Hillary Clinton released the following statement:
“It is unacceptable for Iranian President Ahmadinejad, who refuses to renounce and end his own country’s support of terrorism, to visit the site of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil in our nation’s history.”
NEW YORK – Officials on Wednesday decided to reject the Iranian president’s request to visit ground zero just weeks after the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The decision came in a meeting that included representatives of the NYPD, the Secret Service and the Port Authority, according to police.
NYPD officials confirmed in a statement that earlier this month the department received a request from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to visit the World Trade Center site during the United Nations General Assembly.
A statement issued by the NYPD said, “Requests for the Iranian president to visit the immediate area would also be opposed by the NYPD on security grounds.”
Columbia is more than happy to have him speak, and Allahpundit has a few things to say about it!

Man, I really hope someone puts a bullit in his head. Perhaps the Secret Service would turn their heads for just a few seconds…
September 20, 2007 - 06:48 AM on September 20th, 2007
1, not a chance on the Secret Service being derelict in their duties. They are not Clintonistas on the payroll for being good little robots in the Clinton campaign. The SS are professionals who take pride in their jobs and in enforcing the law.

What bothers me most but proves the point that academics are looney liberals is that Columbia will not allow ROTC on their campus yet give a forum to this jackass who wants nothing more than to destroy Israel and who calls our CIC satan.
I hope many New Yorkers do everything they can to make this guys visit as uncomfortable as possible. You know if I were a waitress in a restaurant he patronized I would have to drop his plate of food on his lap. Hot food of course.

3, BonBon, if you were a waitress, you could do a Jesse Jackson and spit in his food before you serve it.

Gee PCD…..you’re meaner than I am. Why didn’t I think of that?

And just because I’m dying to use this moticom, how about a hot, hot, cup of java?

Why not let the man visit?
I hope he enjoys his visit to the US, and I hope he meets and speaks with lots of Americans who aren’t afraid of him and ignorant to reality like so many on the republican right.
I hope he speaks with average americans and sees that we are not all these over-aggressive, knuckle-dragging morons that Bush Co. makes us all seem like.
I hope he gets a New York bagel.
Simply the best in the world.
September 20, 2007 - 11:07 AM on September 20th, 2007
SFL…he DENIED the Holocaust, threatened to wipe Israel off the face of the map, and called our President (like him or not) Satan. Disrespect should be met with disrespect.
When he cleans up his rhetoric, cooperates with the global community on his nuclear program, we’ll be happy to welcome him into the fold.

“I hope he enjoys his visit to the US, and I hope he meets and speaks with lots of Americans who aren’t afraid of him and ignorant to reality like so many on the republican right.”
Yeah- the Republican right is mainly ignorant, as is the democratic left.

Peejz-
Tried to respond to the “Not a Good Day for Democrats” thread twice but my repsonse was eaten.
Any ideas?

7, I wish a student group would grab “Mr. I’m in a Dinnerjacket” and hold him for 444 days like he held our embassy staff. Give him a full measure of his own medicine.
SFL, I’m sure if this jerk were visiting SF, you’d be there with your little white flag trying to surrender to him and convert to Islam.
September 20, 2007 - 11:26 AM on September 20th, 2007
“Mr. I’m in a dinnerjacket”……

That’s a great idea though. 444 days held hostage. Maybe in the basement room of a vacated brownstone in New York. Dark of course…we have to give him the same treatment though. A New York bagel sounds lovely SFL…one a week with some water of course.

10- I looked and you aren’t caught up in moderation..sorry, I think sometimes there is a glitch that hits when we try to enter…And it never fails to be when we have something really good to say!
September 20, 2007 - 01:37 PM on September 20th, 2007
BonBon…part of being an American is tolerating unpopular speech.
To NOT do so, as you suggest, is UNamerican.

PCD, how can I convert to Islam if I’m an Atheist?
Derrrr…
September 20, 2007 - 01:44 PM on September 20th, 2007
SFL. Do not EVER call me Unamerican.
September 20, 2007 - 01:45 PM on September 20th, 2007
Just because I won’t suck up to terrorists doesn’t make me less of an american. You may be an atheist now but you will convert when they take over. Or die. Whichever you prefer.
September 20, 2007 - 03:34 PM on September 20th, 2007
To allow Ahmedinejad to visit Ground Zero would be
But then, so is allowing him to enter the United States, even to visit the UN council. First, here’s what was reported yesterday (via Melanie Phillips), and Mitt Romney summed it up correctly about the monster:
September 21, 2007 - 12:33 AM on September 21st, 2007
SFL, under international law, the man has been identified as a terrorist. NOT a supporter of terrorism, a terrorist. He has been identified as one of the ring leaders in the kidnapping and holding of US hostages at the US Embassy in Tehran as well as being involved in the MURDER of the US CIA section chief in Tehran during the Iran Hostage crisis. You’re probably too young, but I remember the pictures of the CIA section chief hanging from a rope. There is NO statute of limitations on Murder and as he wasn’t a dictator at the time, he has NO soverign immunity.
As for the liberals being so tolerant of unpopular speech, why is it that they try to shout down and/or assault conservative speakers on college campuses? You don’t see conservatives throwing things at liberal speakers on campuses. Those are libs. When a conservative doesn’t like what a liberal is saying they leave the room, not commit a crime trying to shut them up. Conservatives aren’t the ones pushing for political correctness censorship, that’s the libs. The liberals are the biggest proponents of censorship in the country. While a conservative may say “I don’t agree with what you’re saying but will defend to the death your right to say it.” Liberals will do everything in their power to silence any opposition.
September 21, 2007 - 12:51 AM on September 21st, 2007
#7 SFL are you joking? Your post is simplistic,, so naieve, so childlike. If President I’minaJihad talks to simple-minded, fawning Liberals, the only impression he will come away with is that Osama was right: America is soft and ready for defeat.
September 21, 2007 - 05:54 AM on September 21st, 2007
14, SFL, on this point you are one hypocritical liar. You try to make any speech you don’t like a hate crime. Jailing those who say things you don’t like is not tolerant, jerk.
Also, BonBon nailed you on you facing forced conversion to Islam. We will see how strong an Atheist you are with the knife to your throat.
September 21, 2007 - 08:13 AM on September 21st, 2007
Atheists would be hollering “Allah Akhbar!” at the top of their lungs before the knife even touched their throats.
September 21, 2007 - 08:15 AM on September 21st, 2007
Anyone ever look at Iranian Dicktator IminaJihad and think he looks like Bob Denver? I see him on tv and want to yell out “Gilligan, why are you being this way!”.

17, FAO, Yale lost in US Appellate court and must allow Military Recruiters on campus. The Libs are furious that the Armed forces are also accorded Free Speech on their campuses. To them, the Barbarians have breached the gates.

“Why not let the man visit?”
ST had a pretty definitive list of viable reasons. They were:
1. He’s threatened us,
2. He’s threatened our strong and solid ally Israel,
3. Helping arm terrorists to kill our troops in Iraq,
4. His “operatives”are in Iraq doing the same,
5. He and Hamas are tag team terror partners,
6. He’s reconstituted Iran’s nuclear program and not for peaceful purposes,
7. In a letter last May addressed to the President, Ahmadinejad suggested that 9-11 was an inside job.
September 22, 2007 - 03:49 PM on September 22nd, 2007
An update on this would be that US forces have captured an IRANIAN Republican Guard officer from the QUDs (sort of Iran’s version of Spec ops) brigade in north eastern IRAQ. Reportedly there to arm and train Al Quaeda terrorists, the military officer was definitely on the WRONG side of the border for a reason. I think I’d turn him over to the Kurds and have them interrogate him. While the Kurds have fewer reasons to like the Sunnis than they do to hate them, they have even fewer reasons to be gentle to an Iranian. Collect the intel from this bozo and then do covert strikes against the targets he ids.

Hi,
Just some FYI:
WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ ” Friday
Freedom’s Watch President Bradley A. Blakeman released a statement and a copy of the print advertisement it has requested to be run in the Monday edition of the New York Times.
“Freedom’s Watch could not sit back and allow a terrorist to come to
America masquerading as a world leader. We have an obligation to warn the
world of the dangers of a nuclear Iran and to uncover the true intent, that
being, the destruction of the United States and the State of Israel.
Let’s be clear, Iran today kills American soldiers in Iraq and they will not stop
there,”said Bradley A. Blakeman, President of Freedom’s Watch.
The text of the advertisement follows:
Ahmadinejad Is A Terrorist
Columbia University is wrong to give him a platform.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threatens our nation and the
freedoms we value. He has supported attacks on our soldiers and our allies.
He should be treated as the terrorist that he is.
Yet, while Columbia gives a terrorist like Ahmadinejad a platform to
speak, they refuse to allow the ROTC on campus.
What has happened to this prestigious university?
People who support killing Americans are welcome. But the military that
defends them is not.
Columbia should be ashamed of its actions.
Freedom’s Watch knows that America and the forces of freedom are right.
We know the threat of terrorism is real. And we know Democracy must
prevail.
The terrorists and their appeasers are wrong.
“And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon
experience a world without the United States and Zionism.â€
” Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

I think IminaJihad should be taken hostage by “students” and held for 444 days.
