Which, Peejz, I do not really appreciate without some highlighting which parts come from which person. Like it is right now, it is not a good style.

1: The law has been on the books for about 25 years.
2: Anyone objecting to owning a gun can go to city hall and fill out a form requesting exemption and receive it.
3: Noone has been prosecuted for not owning a gun
4: Crime in Kennesaw has dropped to almost nothing since the ordinance was enacted.

SFL this post is about an upcoming week wherein an attempt will be made to educate people as to the threat that Islamofascism poses to the world. It isn’t about capital punishment or islamophobia. It’s about Islamofascists’ stated goal of eventual world domination and the spreading of Sharia law. When someone is telling you that they are intending to kill you, it only behooves you to listen.

BonBon, my ex-wife wasn’t familiar with guns until she went into ROTC. She wasn’t much better after she got out and we got married. As soon after the wedding as possible, I bought a handgun and taught her how to use it. With my being out of town on Field Training Exercises, it was the only way that she chould protect herself. The police even told her to shoot anyone who broke in while I was gone when she started receiving obscene phone calls. Unbeknownst to most of the people in this country, the police have NO OBLIGATION to respond to a 911 call for help. The Supreme Court ruled decades ago that the police are only responsible to maintain general order and have no responsibility to protect any single individual. If you want to learn the truth about guns, the NRA does have a number of classes for women, frequently taught by women so there is no reason to feel embarrassed.

The only offense which ever even gets the dp is murder and usually with extenuating circumstances. Never for someones sexual preferences or adultery or any other non crime such as those.

As for the guns, we have something called the second amendment. Personally I’m afraid of guns and don’t want anything to do with one but I would never take the right away from anyone to own one.

BonBon, I personally think that any kind of statewise ordered killing is murder- how cruel it may ever be done (and earlier in this thread I posted a link which showed the slaughters in US prisons!).

The question is: Is it legally justified in Iran (or somewhere else) to have death verdicts on sexual offenses. The answer would be: Yes, if the law which enables this is supported by the people who are affected by it!
I recently saw a report on a town in Georgia, where it is a duty to have at least one firearm in each household. If you don’t have a gun- you commit a crime! I don’t understand it- but if people there want to have it that way…

“ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL

Sec. 34-1. Heads of households to maintain firearms.
(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefor.
(b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.
(Code 1986, § 4-3-10)

Sec. 34-2. Use of firearms.
No person shall fire a gun, pistol or other firearm in the city, except in the defense of person or property, and except peace officers or military forces of this state or the United States, in the discharge of official duties.”
