Rather In Seeking To Depose Bush In Lawsuit: “I’m not in this — mostly — with anybody else.”
Well wish in one hand and s#!+ in the other Dan!
Former “Evening News” Dan Rather choked back tears on several occasions today when discussing his decision to file a lawsuit against CBS and he left many audience members with a sense that he may call President George W. Bush as a witness should the lawsuit proceed to trial (and Rather said he hoped it would).

Joynt asked Rather if he believes the president hates him, and Rather responded by saying that “hate is a strong word.” Then, he began to well up. “You’ve never met anybody who had more respect for the presidency than I do,” said Rather, choking back tears. He stood by his 2004 story, saying “we got the truth, but we left ourselves vulnerable.”
Rather also grew emotional when he revealed that many of his family members and “people who love me very dearly” had urged him not to file the lawsuit. He ultimately rejected their advice, comparing it to difficult decisions he’s made in the past about traveling to travel to war zones over his family’s objections. There comes a time, Rather said, when you have to say “it’s just time to go.” Rather later admitted that “I’m not in this — mostly — with anybody else.”More than a few eyebrows were raised when Rather said, “I have no complaints, news is a contact sport.” Joynt quickly interjected, “Yeah but so are lawsuits.” Still, Rather insisted that his lawsuit is not born out of resentment: “I’m not angry, I’m not bitter — never have been. I’m a reporter : and this is a story.” He denounced the “interference, intimidation and manipulation in newsrooms” caused largely by the corporatization and consolidation of news outlets and said that, despite the largely negative response his lawsuit has received in the court of public opinion, “people might come around when they find out what really went on.”

I hope those poor saps in the back got their meal compped!
In the meantime, memeorandum has the lowdown on Katie’s reaction to Dan

You know I can envision Dan Blather in a mediation room with his attorneys and all parties involved breaking down in tears wailing about how Bush lied, people died
Oh to be a fly on the wall in that meeting.
When Bush leaves office I fully support him filing a defamation lawsuit against Rather. Let’s see $100 million sounds good. After all the presidency doesn’t exactly make a man rich.

Apparently idiot propagandist Dan Blather does not understand the process his lawsuit is going to unleash. My brother is an attorney and he told me that in these lawsuits, the defendants’ attorneys will depose Rather endlessly. They will turn him inside out. They will question him until he can’t take it anymore. And so much dirt will come out about the forged papers and the entire fraud that by the time he realizes he won’t prevail Rather will wish he had never opened Pandora’s box. The destruction of his “legacy” will be complete. He will only reap the destruction he sowed.
I can see this quite clearly. It is as predictable as my early assessment and prediction of the outcome of the alleged Duke rape case was.
Dan Rather has placed himself into history’s toilet. Now he is about to flush it.

I’m thinking his family may be thinking the same thing…He keeps trying to paint this as a Corporate America vs “the little guy”, but the fact remains that his bias was never hidden, in factit is well documented.
He claims to have respect for the POTUS, but do you remember that within a week, he had interviews with Saddam and GWB. When addressing his subject:
Saddam was referred to as Mr. President
The POTUS was referred to as Mr. Bush

1, BonBon, $100 Million isn’t enough. It should be $1 Billion from Rather and $10 Billion from Soros who is funding Rather.
I have no respect for Rather, and I think Soros should be slugged in the stomach like Rather was on camera.

I didn’t realize Soros was funding Rather? Doesn’t surprise me though.

5, BonBon, what anti-American program isn’t Soros funding?

True PCD but this one’s a loser. Like Robert said above everything is going to come out in depositions and Mr. Dan I don’t take responsibility is going to find that out. I can’t believe he doesn’t see that. But, that’s problably one of the effects of Bush Derangement Syndrome.

7, Rather has more than BDS. Rather is a Democrat partisan who lies to himself about being such a partisan.
