"The plan was being gamed, your government knew it was being gamed, and said, and did, nothing to stop "billions of dollars"from going into Husseins pockets while your government also imposed sanctions that killed Iraqi men, women, and children."

Is that straight from the Democrite talking points sheet? The sanctions didn't kill anyone. No matter what a Republican administration does, it can never be correct, if you listen to the Leftists. If we bomb someone, oh, that's horrible we're killing innocent civilians! So then instead of bombing, we apply economic sanctions. Oh, that's horrible, we're killing innocent civilians!

The problem isn't what we are doing or how we are doing it. It is with the Leftists, Liberals, Democrites who are fine with anything their people do no matter how corrupt evil and degenerate, but anything whatsoever a Republican admin does is by definition wrong.

Stageleft, the right frequently condemn conservative politicians when they screw up, even minimally (see Senator Craig). The problem is that the Left circles the wagons around any liberal politician no matter how corrupt that individual may be. Look at the difference in the response between Mark Foley sending lurid text messages to an 18 yr old male page and the response to Jerry Studds actually having sex with an underaged male page. The Republicans kicked Foley to the curb, the Democrats gave Studds a standing ovation. What is wrong with that picture? One commits a stupid but legal act and gets effectively kicked out of Congress, the other commits an act of what would be considered statutory rape in many states (a felony) and gets a standing ovation.

As for Bush knowing about this Wyatt guy dealing with the enemy, I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he knew or not. Only that someone in the US government between 1992 and 2003 turned a blind eye to it. There isn't anything that I've seen that indicates when Wyatt was violating the Oil - For - Food program. He may have never actually violated the program during the Bush administration. Or for that matter, he may have been violating it before Bush was inaugerated and therefore the person turning a blind eye might have been a career diplomat at the State Dept. For those who don't know, the department that is most widely regarded as being full of corrupt employees is the State Department. I don't know if they start out that way, or get that way from dealing with the corruption in the UN and other countries.

There is every possibility that the Clinton administration was also involved in the mess, right up to his neck, it wouldn't surprise me a bit PCD.... contrary to your assertions he ain't my idol.

On the upside, it heartens me to see admissions from the upper-right-quadrant that their president knew, and did nothing as long as it was friends of the US benefiting, that Hussein was getting his pockets padded while his people died under US led sanctions - the next step is to be at least somewhat concerned with the hypocrisy that speaks to instead of trying to defend it.

16, When was the most of this happening? Try under your idol, Bubba Clinton. No one ever investigated if Clinton was getting some under the table to let it happen.

BDS? Nah, I'm just not suffering from any sort of partisan blindness PAM

<blockquote>Documents: U.S. condoned Iraq oil smuggling
Trade was an open secret in administration, U.N.
From Elise Labott and Phil Hirschkorn
CNN
Wednesday, February 2, 2005 Posted: 10:04 PM EST (0304 GMT)

(CNN) -- Documents obtained by CNN reveal the United States knew about, and even condoned, embargo-breaking oil sales by Saddam Hussein's regime, and did so to shore up alliances with Iraq's neighbors.

The oil trade with countries such as Turkey and Jordan appears to have been an open secret inside the U.S. government and the United Nations for years.

The unclassified State Department documents sent to congressional committees with oversight of U.S. foreign policy divulge that the United States deemed such sales to be in the "national interest," even though they generated billions of dollars in unmonitored revenue for Saddam's regime.</blockquote>

*** go ahead, Google it, there's lots there.

The plan was being gamed, your government knew it was being gamed, and said, and did, nothing to stop <i>"billions of dollars"</i> from going into Husseins pockets while your government also imposed sanctions that killed Iraqi men, women, and children.

How come you didn't know it was really "the food-for-oil-for-buddies" program?

I met Oscar Wyatt in Geneva at an OPEC Meeting along with Jim Tanner, my reporter buddy from the WSJ. Oscar had two busty blondes with him at 3AM & was flying back to Texas on one of his many corporate jets---he owned half a dozen back then.

His son later was involved with Princess Di after her marriage broke up. He is a compleat OPERATOR and friend of Saddam who should be locked up for life.

October 10 , 2003, 1200 PDT, (FTW) -- WASHINGTON, At around 9 PM on September 29, Fairfax County, Virginia police responded to a 911 call describing an accident. However, they soon discovered they were not dealing with a routine emergency but the mysterious death of an employee of the 47-year old brother of President George W. Bush, venture capitalist Marvin Bush. Sixty-two year old Bertha Champagne, described as a long time "baby sitter" for Marvin and Margaret Bush's two children, son Walker, 13, and daughter Marshall, 17, was found crushed to death by her own vehicle in a driveway in front of the Bush family home in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. Champagne reportedly lived at the Bush family home.

I just have to ask.

Where is Mark Rich's guilty plea? Oh wait... As long as they can't prove he did anything after January 19th, 2001, Billy Clinton gave him a get out of jail free card for all of his illegal dealings. Of course his pardon had nothing to do with his ex-wife Denise donating millions to the Clinton's favorite charity - Themselves.
