The Nobel Committee Bypassed Holocaust Savior for Al Gore

Normally my response would be “surely you jest”, but Noel isn’t one to kid around when it comes to matters as sad and pathetic as the choice of Al Gore for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Meet Irena Sendler, a 97-year-old Polish woman who saved 2,500 Jewish children from certain death in the Warsaw ghetto during World War II.
Hadn’t heard of her? Well, don’t feel bad, for since the Nobel Committee announced the nominees in February, there have only been 107 reports about Mrs. Sendler being one of them. By contrast, Al Gore and “Nobel” have been mentioned in 2,912.

To put an even finer point on the astounding difference in media coverage, since the nominees were announced, Mrs. Sendler has been referred to in only six newscasts on television and radio, one by conservative Glenn Beck. Gore’s Nobel nomination was discussed in 249!

With that in mind, here is Sendler’s story – as presented by the Irena Sendler Project, the fabulous brainchild of some students in rural Kansas – which media have deplorably chosen to boycott in favor of championing a wealthy American liberal who made a movie containing egregious scientific falsehoods

Al Gore, the Messiah and Savior for the Church of Global Warming, may save millions of children with his prophetic message!

Now why hasn’t he announced for President yet?

I don’t like the idea of Al Gore getting the peace prize for that justification. There are probably hundreds of other people like Greenpeace who spent much more effort on the topic than Gore.

That’s one of the big “tragedies” in life- that people get more credits than others for doing the same (or even less valuable) job, simply because they’ve got more public attention…
So Al Gore is kind of the “Paris Hilton” of the environmental care community… ;)

Okay, get ready for this and no I am not on drugs or drunk….I actually agree with what Matthias just said in #3…

Matthias, do you think a Global Warming prize should be from the ‘peace’ category, or is there one that would be more relevant to the topic?

If scientists are at a consensus, should be the Science award? 8-|

4- “do you think a Global Warming prize should be from the ‘peace’ category”

I think that the wars of the future will be fought much more due to the struggle for basic living needs- water, moderate climate area land, food, etc. …
So in an indirect manner the one who helps to preserve the environment in a stable state, helps to reduce conflicts on “what is left”.

    In an indirect manner?

Wow- perhaps they should just begin to aqward the Peace Prize to PR folks and get it over with.

I am now reviving my earlier idea (suggested by “carbon offsets” or “credits”) to sell stupidity offsets. Stupid people who purchase them would be entitled to openly display their stupidity and being protected since they have purchased offsets.

Instead of getting annoyed, angry, or even violent with stupid people, the rest of us would then have to simply shrug and move on, thereby preserving general tranquility and Peace.

If someone would be so kind as to nominate me for the Nobel Peace Prize, I will gladly share the proceeds. My claim is as valid as Al Gore’s.

Hey, would that fall under the same category as the comedian who used to comment on the stupid things people say with the response of “Here’s your sign” ? Sort of the match to the old t-shirts that said “I’m with stupid” only instead of saying “I’m with stupid”, it would say “I AM STUPID”. :d
