"That's where we disagree.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11."

I never said that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 at all. The fact is that terrorist perpetrated 9/11, this is a global war on terror and Iraq was a state sponsor of terrorism. As a result Iraq was a legitimate target in this war.

"Invading Iraq post-9/11 was a CRITICAL strategic error on our part, and has severely set back our effort to reduce radical islamic terrorism."

It merely incited them, and made many more enemies of Again, HIGHLY debatable but not the point of what I posted.

SFL. I would like to point out that first of all Bush NEVER said Saddam had anything to do with the planning of 9/11. Having said that though, this man DID support terrorism on many levels. He had training camps in Iraq, he sold technology and weapons, he harbored terrorists on the run in Iraq (The Blind Shiek was in part responsible for the first WTC attack) and he lived off a state stipend Saddam gave him. Saddam wrote $25,000 checks to the families of homicide bombers who blew up Israelies. The list goes on and on.

We are in Afghanistan, it is one front. We also needed another battlefield and Iraq was strategically the best place. Were we disappointed that the Iraqi's didn't stand up? Yes, but you have to remember, we let them down horribly after the first gulf war and they had no reason to trust us. We owe it to them.

Hold onto that comment SFL. All we have is the one article I posted about moving the marines over there and that info didn't come from the marines. Let's not say they want to go there, because we have no way of knowing that at this point. It has not had any followups to it, unless you saw something I missed. It would be a good move to have them go there as that type of terrain is right up their alley.

"I will not forget this wound to our country or those who inflicted it. I will not yield; I will not rest; I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people.”

George W. Bush, September 20, 2001

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but is it too much to ask to have us fight the RIGHT PEOPLE?

Even the US Marines feel they would be better of serving in Afghanistan, not in Iraq.

8, Ted, do they ever admit shamelessly distorting what Bush says to support their political agenda? Especially when you have the quotes in context to immediately prove them wrong or worse?
