On an unrelated note, I honestly do not know why my trackbacks are having so much trouble getting to the blogs I send them to. This latest entry is one I really wish to share and is entitled Historic Photos Of Tallahassee — Andrew N. Edel. Time to chop the financial legs out from under Berkeley. If they don’t want the Marine Corps in Berkeley, they shouldn’t be receiving US Taxpayer dollars. That also means that should something horrible befall the city, the national guard should stop all operations at the city limits. All schools in Berkeley should be denied US taxpayer dollars. No more public safety funds for Berkeley. Etc Etc. Let the city sue. With the current court situation, a good US attorney with an attitude could drag it out in court until the city is having to issue press releases on cheap single ply toilet paper. And then recysle them later. :d
Let’s see how those fruit cakes make out when Uncle Sam isn’t funding their stupidity. It reminds me of what my first Battalion CO used to tell enlisted men whenever he was giving them an article 15 non judigicial punishment for smoking pot. He would always tell them that obviously they had too much time and money on their hands so he was going to take care of that problem for them. Then, depending on the individual’s service record, he’d either max out the penalty, or go a bit lighter on them. As a minimum they were going to be on extra duty for 2 months, lose one pay grade and 1/3 of their (now LOWER) base pay for 2 months. At worst, they’d get extra duty for 2 months, lose 2 pay grades, and 2/3 of their (Now even LOWER) base pay for 2 months. I liked that CO. I’d have followed him to hell and back. He liked me. I’d give him straight answers. He might not always like them, but at least he knew they were honest.
