Page one placement to boot! Keep in mind that the NYT’s went into cardiac arrest upon hearing the news of Murdoch’s plan to buy the Wall Street Journal, and it won’t be hard to see why they are going after Matt Drudge of The Drudge Report.
MoveOn is none too pleased with Drudge, therefore, their minions at the NYT’s must do something to stop him:
The site is a potent combination of real scoops, gossip and innuendo aimed at Mr. Drudge’s targets of choice ” some of it delivered with no apparent effort to determine its truth, as politicians of all stripes have discovered at times.
Why do they hate Drudge? Well according to Don Surber:
MoveOn hates Drudge because the Clintons were able to get Newsweek to spike the Lewinsky story, and they would have gotten away with it too, if not for that meddling Matt.
MoveOn came to be because of the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal. Matt has been a thorn in the side of the left, because his stories proved correct.
Don further explains that :
The only story that is based solely on innuendo is the lone NYT story: “Clinton Finds Way to Play Along With Drudge”
Which is where I got the quote. Game. Set. Match.
I saw the headlind at Drudge and plan to give him the h/t
More reaction at memeorandum
Just a refresher on the NYT’s:

Morgan Stanley Sells Entire New York Times Stake
Andrew Rosenthal Emplains Why The New York Times Can’t Be Taken Seriously
Move On: “General Petraeus or General Betray us? Cooking the books for the White House.”
Isn’t it just awful when that annoying little thing called free speech gets in the NYT’s way? :-w
It’s all Matt’s fault that the NYT’s is in the toilet =))
The leftie msm blames everyone and everything but themselves. Well, I guess if you are into irresponsible journalism, biased reporting, and suppression of others free speech you get your just desserts.

What the NYT need is for Murdoch to buy them.
OMG!
Could you imagine the reaction to that?
Applause? Job growth? Profits?
If Murdoch bought the NYT, there’d be a bloodbath in the news and editorial rooms before anything else happened. Just think of all those liberal partisans in the unemployment line!
Something like that would shake up the MSM through and through.
Well, if the Times continues its downward spiral, then this may be a valid scenerio. Murdoch could well buy it simply because of the intellectual property value and get it for pennies on the dollar, then invest in rebuilding it so that it makes money. It would be a very hot stock.
No doubt Ted.
The NEW YORK SLIMES i hope they lose some more readers for lying too much:-j
