A woman who had been evacuated to the stadium told officers she saw the group load up two pickup trucks and a car with cots and other supplies, leave and then return, said police Sgt. Jesse Cesen~a.
When officers stopped them, a member of the group said they were being paid to take things of value from the stadium.
“They were stealing a lot of stuff,” Cesen~a said. “We took the stuff back and we escorted them out. They were stealing from the people in need.”
Because some members of the group spoke Spanish, officers called Border Patrol agents at the stadium for relief efforts. They determined the people were in the country illegally and arrested them.

These people should have been shot on the side of the road and then hung at San Ysidro as a warning to other *ssholes who think of stealing from the devastated.

It could’ve been worse. They could’ve been in Phoenix. The Phoenix Police officers aren’t even allowed to call ICE if they think someone is an illegal. In other words, had they been stealing from the Coliseum at the Fairgrounds that was used as temp housing for Katrina victims, the police would’ve had to cite them and release them unless the amount of stolen property in their possession was enough to constitute a felony. There is a LOT of screaming going on about that policy, but the city “director of public safety” (police chief) and the mayor refuse to change the policy. It is the written policy and the beat cops are mad about it. One even emailed a local radio talk show host and told them to advise anyone getting into an accident with someone who doesn’t speak English, to tell the Phoenix PD officers that they want the Sheriff’s office to investigate the accident. If asked the city pd have to turn it over to the Sheriff, and Sheriff Joe has a lot of his deputies cross trained to act as ICE agents. They come out and arrest the illegal and take him to jail.
There has been a huge outcry over this policy because two Phoenix PD officers have been shot by previously deported felons during routine traffic stops in the last 2 months, one fatally.

But these are the wonderful “undocumented immigrants” that just want to come here to work, don’t you know?
I’m sure they were only taking the supplies because they wanted to help distribute the supplies to the fire victims, that’s what I think. It is a misunderstanding; these undocumented visitors are actually volunteers.
Anyway, the fires were because of Global Warming, and it’s George Bush’s fault that they weren’t put out already. I mean, the fires are Bush’s fault anyway!

The funny thing is…there’s a mentally-ill Liberal out there somewhere who would believe all this!

PCD, Nope. Sheriff Joe is too busy rounding up and jailing Illegals as coconspirators under the state human trafficking laws. BOY are the racists with the open border groups mad about that. When Phoenix stopped a local furniture store from hiring off duty police officers to stop illegal alien day workers from blocking access to their parking lot, Sheriff Joe started having deputies patrol the area and with the level of jaywalking in the area, they pick up them up and check them out. If they’re illegals, they scoop them up and turn them over to ICE. It was one of these Jay walking illegals who killed a Phoenix PD officer in September. He then carjacked a car driving by. He won’t be deported again. A couple of undercover swat cars did a felony traffic stop on him and when he raised his gun toward the hostage, one of the officer’s shot him through the back of the head. A very efficient method of handling a cop killer. Under $1.00 versus over half a million dollars to prosecute, convict, incarcerate, and then eventually execute someone who shouldn’t have even been in this country in the first place.
