Speaking Of Corruption, Let’s Talk About Eliot Spitzer
Does he really think that, by delaying a whitewashed report, people will somehow forget his corruption?
“They’ve held it up because the original findings were bad for the governor,” the senior official with firsthand knowledge of the investigation contended. “They’ve kept putting it off, going through new drafts of it, because of objections from the second floor [the governor's Capitol office] that it would be too damaging to the governor,” the source added.
Several news organizations, including The Post, were told by a Hamann aide in early August that a report would be completed by Labor Day.
But Hamann spokesman Stephen Del Giacco said yesterday he was “not really sure” when the report would be released. He denied any meddling by Spitzer, as did Spitzer spokeswoman Christine Anderson.
Meanwhile, Buley, who was appointed to the PSC by former Gov. George Pataki, said, “Maybe the investigation should be conducted by another entity.”
Ya think?
