Philly Mayor Performs Illegal Gay Marriage Ceremony While Reneging on a 1928 agreement with the Boy Scouts to permit them ‘in perpetuity’ use of property
Typical, wouldn’t you say? The city and state do not recognize gay marriage or civil unions, nor do the have a problem with reneging on a 79 year old agreement that gave the Boy Scouts ‘in perpetuity’ to use a half-acre piece of property in downtown Philadelphia.

Great work Mayor Street. Hopefully your performing the ceremony for your friend will be a front-runner action for legal rights for all GLBT’s in your City and State. Any two people shuld have the option to Civilly-Wed his or her partner. As for the Boy Scout, that is another issue to address later.

It would be good if the writer of this post could differentiate between “illegal” and “unrecognized.” A marriage that is unrecognized is not necessarily illegal.
