That's pretty much as I see it Robert. We have even been accused of not wanting peace and that is such an insult that is when I get upset. Most people want peace but when you have people who want power (Hugo Chavez) or death to anyone not of their religion (OBL) you have to fight back.

320 BonBon you have identified one of the fundamental problems with the Liberal viewpoint: They ignore the reality of human nature. For example, they believe that if we want Peace, we can just have Peace! They ignore the fact that both sides must want Peace. If one side doesn't want Peace, there will be no Peace until that side no longer has the ability to wage war; i.e. is totally, utterly defeated.

The Libs disregard that reality, living in their fantasy world. Like the Pacifists, they owe their ability to exist as they are to those of us who deal with reality.

To me Mattias is the typical well off, spoiled brat. He rebels against his parents and society in every way he can to get attention and exercise power.

SFL is the typical San Franciso Clown. As long as they can smoke their bongs, vandalize recruiting centers, and thumb their noses at convention, they are happy until something happens. Like during the World Series quake, they run to TV cameras with their hands out palms up demanding that their hands be filled and overflowing.

Matthias did touch a nerve with me PCD but that was because he was disrespectful and sometimes inappropriate in his responses. No one says you can't disagree but disagreement can often bring up other points. Dare I say I can even remember agreeing with my liberal father in law on one issue. It actually brought us together for just a moment while we talked about the pros and cons of the issue.

SFL has the typical liberal worldview that if only we all got along everyone would be better off. He totally ignores real threats. Threats the U.S. and worse, other innocent third world countries experience day in and day out. But that doesn't mean we can't keep trying to change them. :)

PCD...you know tolerance is a funny thing. People who constantly tell others they are not being tolerant are usually the very ones who aren't being tolerant themselves.

In spite of my comments on muslims I am not intolerant of them; only reserved in dealing with them. And in that line of thinking I try not to make overall judgements but rather individual judgements because all muslims are not bad.

SFL...does your mother feel that way about the Amish, Quakers or Scientologists? The Mormon faith is not a cult although I could argue Scientology is but not Amish or Quakers.

As for Obama. I believe that a person running for president should be judged on many things, one of them being his background. Using pot is not too bad but cocaine and crack? They are very addicting drugs and I have a problem with that. As for being a Muslim, yes, absolutely, after 9/11 and through all my research I think America would be very wise to use caution when electing politicians, especially a President, who have muslim backgrounds.

"Fundamentalist Christians are some of the most INtolerant Americans out there."

Could they possibly be nearly as intolerant as the Politically-correct crowd?

"How very brave of you, BonBon, to show us all how intolerant you are of other peoples religions, that are different from your own."

Until non-terrorist Muslims collectively stand up loudly and in unison condemn the radicals and take concrete action to join the civilized world in fighting terrorism, BonBon's observations are valid.

I would not vote for a Muslim for President because they are Muslim. Because I have no confidence that their being a Muslim will NOT interfere with their ability to do the job.

"We should be questioning Obama's faith and background with some serious thought to what it would open America up to by having a muslim as president. I agree he's a personable guy but that's not enough."
