SFL, I would bet I've studied more foreign languages and cultures than you have. The fact that you have criminals for friends and family members doesn't surprise me in the least. So do I. The difference is that in my family, we don't associate with the criminals and most of us will turn them in and even press charges against them if necessary. That's called rule of law. If it weren't for the rule of law, I could deal with a large number of the violent drug dealers in this part of Phoenix. Unfortunately, the law protects them from being shot on sight.

I sure hope that prisoner files suit. I think us the people of California deserve to pay. We reward our criminals and illegals. We pay about 6000 dollars per inmate and we want to dig deeper in our pockets and pay for more prisons instead of just truly punishing our offenders. Death pentality means death, doesnt it? 20-25 to life means until you die of old age. (parole is just lip service) Reform and rehabilitation are just real fancy words that we dont know the meaning of. Or to lazy to investigate. We say " I dont want to hear there problems, how much to make you go away..
Until we really get hit hard enough in the pocket book, I dont think anyone is ever going to do anything about it.. Lets just throw more money, (that most of us work hard for) into it. We the average working class, really dont have enough money to buy anyone with any common since.
We however no how to gripe, but we arent going to look at the real issues. Illegals in this country really is an issue
The rest of us had to do it legal or settle the land to be here. Prison guards dieing from valley fever, seems to me if its an issue. MOVE! You do have the right to do that as where that prisoner doesnt. by the way ever research what we are paying those guards? ever noticed they start out lean however the majority are pretty healthy within months after hire. Ever wonder how the drugs get in to the prison system? maybe the guards? You know the prison system, lack of accountablity and or permenant retirment system (prison system) really needs to be looked at by the people who are paying the bill.
7 generations of california, adapted to the Amercicans who took over. looks like we are going to get it back.

Slow down FAO, I'm wasn't even talking about "illegals" in this topic.

All I said was that dogs used by border police are getting sick from the spores as well as inmates and prison guards, to name a few.

The powers that be here at RV posted this story to make light of prisoners getting sick, and I brought up the point that it's not just the inmates who are falling ill.

I live in California. I understand the "illegal" situation very well, thank you. I have friends and even family members who are in the united states "illegally".

Brown skinned people, different cultures and behaviors don't frighten me like they do you and other conservatives.

Living in an area where Valley Fever can be a big problem, I can tell you that it is no joke. It can cause serious permanent damage.

SFL your remarks about the dogs just shows how self loathing and anti American you are. Sorry but this is supposed to be a nation of law and the border jumpers are breaking them. They represent only 4-6% of the general population of this country, but over 24% of the prison population with a much higher rate ot recidivism and violence than the legal residents (citizens and resident aliens alike) who occupy the adjoining jail cells. Therefore, to protect the LEGAL residents of this country from the violent criminal element so prevalent south of our border, we need to take steps to keep them out. You're insulated from the bulk of the violence because of your distance from the border, we in Arizona are not. When you move to Nuevo Laredo, or Brownsville, TX or Bigsbee or Douglas, AZ and have to deal with the heavily (illegally)armed illegal aliens committing violent crimes in your neighborhood on a daily basis, you can comment on how wonderful all of the illegal aliens are. Until then, your comments show an utter lack of understanding of the situation.
