Kumbaya: “change the negative, public attitudes and rhetoric which demonize and dehumanize our immigrant friends and neighbors.”

I don’t think so Connie:

Members of the Iowa Interfaith Immigration Coalition are urging presidential candidates of both parties to conduct the debate over immigration policy in a civil manner “that respects human dignity.”

In a Dec. 4 news conference, Connie Ryan Terrell, executive director of The Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, led a group of speakers who gathered to “change the negative, public attitudes and rhetoric which demonize and dehumanize our immigrant friends and neighbors.”

Ms. Terrell said this “destructive attitude has permeated our nation,” making the discussion about immigration a more “complex and difficult debate.”

In a four-week period, more than 3,600 signatures from across the state of Iowa were gathered on a “Creating a Welcoming State” petition, the group said at the news conference.

The petition states, “We pledge ourselves as people of faith and goodwill to stand with our immigrant neighbors who have come to the United States from throughout the world. Recognizing the moral imperative to welcome the stranger in our midst, we commit ourselves to support laws that affirm their dignity, preserve their families, and acknowledge the value of their presence among us.”

Let’s see:

Value their presence, like 15-year-old Dani Countryman of Kaufman, Texas–who was murdered in August by two illegal aliens with prior records who had entered the U.S. from Mexico illegally. Should I recognize Juan Manuel Juarez Reyes for his good deeds? How about this man’s neice: “They cut my niece’s face off,” said John McClain, who is Hightower’s great-uncle, and the chaplain of the Newark Police Department. “They cut her from cheek to cheek. They left her head hanging.”
Or, I know..TB?

Connie, I have no problem welcoming legal immigrants with open arms, but it’ll be a cold day in hell before I give in to amnesty for lawbreakers!

As the late Sonny Bone once said (one of the few plain-talking, common sense politicians): “It’s illegal. What’s there to talk about?”

This crap is just a smokescreen. So what, you can’t state facts, because they might demonize someone? Bullshit!

This idiot needs to try living in a state where the illegal alien trade and the criminality that goes with it has turned previously family neighborhoods into war zones with violence, drugs, gang activities and intimidation. Less than 2 miles from my house a Hispanic gang member and his sister opened fire on people in a neighboring house. One of the victims returned fire hitting the sister. 5 people in the targeted house were shot, the sister was shot and the asshole (who’s gang nickname was “Psycho”) shot at police with a semi automatic AK47 before escaping. He was on the loose for 3 days before they caught him. How many other people might he have hurt? He opened fire in a residential neighborhood with an assault rifle. Those rounds would’ve penetrated the walls on over half of the houses in the area. Of course the police won’t tell whether he’s illegal or not, but that’s where the smart money is.
