It’s Obama In Iowa

At least it wasn’t Hillary or Silky! I loved how Hillary planned to end the war and bring the troops home in 2009! Rather safe for her to say that considering that Bush is bringing them home as we speak! Bryan pointed out that “Obama beat Clinton among women, 35-30. Wow.”

Race and the race: Will the MSM quit fear-mongering now?

Ok. Now that Barack Obama has won a resounding victory in 94.9 percent white Iowa, will the MSM and the Dems stop yammering about racist, un-diverse voters already? The bigotry concern troll act is getting old and tired. Not as old and tired as Hillary Clinton’s campaign. But close.

  1. That’s really bad new for the Clintonistas. They were saying a slight win for Obama over Clinton wouldn’t be a big deal, but if Obama won by more that 7% or if Hillary came in 3rd it is wold be the result of a Clinton/Bush backlash.

  2. Great job, Sen. Obama!

SF Lib is glad that a minority can win in a state that’s 95% white.

I hope he can keep the momentum going as he heads into the other states.

  3. SFL, Your problem is that you are a racist, as are all liberals. We, in Iowa, take the measure of the person and that is why the Hildebeast got STOMPED!

Oh, In Dubuque county Obama and Romney won.

  4. Oh please, Pam.

    “1,600 Ohio National Guardsmen Deployed

    POSTED: 5:37 pm EST January 3, 2008

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Deployment ceremonies were held throughout Ohio Thursday for the largest single-unit deployment for the Ohio National Guard since World War II.

About 1,600 guardsmen with the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will be deployed this week to the Middle East.

They will travel with 950 Michigan National Guardsmen for training at Fort Hood, Texas, before leaving in the early spring for Kuwait.”

LARGEST NATIONAL GUARD DEPPLOYMENT SINCE WWII?

Ditto, SFL. As a native Iowan, I’m really proud my home state put Obama on top. :)

BTW, Democrats turned out about 2:1 over Republicans. I guess the Republicans weren’t as energized by their crappy field of candidates.

  5. Yes, there are deployments TT, it’s called rotation..those going in do not equal those coming home..the troop reductions have already begun…Let’s see what they will be doing:

About 300 other Ohio Guard members currently are deployed, Gabriel said. The Ohio Guard, including the Army and Air branches, has a total strength of more than 15,000.

The unit will be based in Kuwait and will have some responsibility for security and convoy escorts in southern Iraq, said Col. Richard Curry, brigade commander.

The old 37th Division fought in the Pacific during World War II and had 9,800 Purple Heart and seven Medal of Honor recipients. The division was retired in 1968.

The 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team was created this year as part of the military’s reorganization into smaller and more easily deployable brigades.

The Ohio Guard will bring new support programs and strengthen others for the families at home. The Guard has moved from a strictly reserve force to more of an active-duty one, and the families will have the same support they would find on an active-duty base, said Maj. Gen. Gregory L. Wayt, Ohio’s adjutant general.

  6. tofu, the Democrats just can’t pass up a chance to stuff a ballotbox and to intimidate or bully a voter.

  7. And TT- the democrats turned out 2:1? Let’s see..that was a total of 2498 democrats vs 116,114 republicans…I did love how Dodd got 1 vote and no democrat broke 1000.

  8. Pam,

The Iowa Democrats report delegates awarded, not people who voted for a candidate becuase of the 15% rule. All the supporters of minor, 2nd tier candidates get rolled up into the leader’s vote total.

Tofu is right on Dem turnout to GOP turnout, but you also have to look at the real poll results in November. Then the Democrats don’t look so tough, especially when the undeclared start breaking for a party.

  10. “I hope he can keep the momentum going as he heads into the other states.”

If he does, it will practically assure a Republican victory in November.

  11. “SF Lib is glad that a minority can win in a state that’s 95% white.”

and yet here in Maryland Michael Steele, black conservative, couldn’t win in a LIBERAL state. Imagine that?

  15. Liberals aren’t racists.

    Conservatives aren’t racist.

Individual’s are racist. Their political perceptions are usually irrelevant.

  16. Maybe so Ted BUT and it’s a big but. Liberals use race when it’s to their advantage. That is abuse imo.

    ——–

There weren’t too many conservatives winning in 2006, black or white.

2006 = The End of the Reagan Era.

  20. “Individuals are racist. Their political perceptions are usually irrelevant.”
