Obama and Rezko have been friends since 1990, and the Wilmette businessman has raised as much as $60,000 in campaign contributions for him.
After Rezko’s indictment, Obama donated $11,500 to charity — the amount Rezko contributed to the senator’s federal campaign fund.

This isn’t what Barry wanted to hear today and he isn’t going to talk about it..But I will! Rezko is a “fixer” for the Obama campaign.
The charges:
Antoin “Tony” Rezko, a key fundraiser for Gov. Blagojevich and other Illinois politicians, was arrested early today by federal agents after prosecutors alleged he had violated terms of the bond in his fraud case.
Rezko has pleaded not guilty to charges that he joined with another major political fundraiser, businessman-attorney Stuart Levine, to shake down money management companies wanting to invest state pension funds.
Rezko is charged in a separate case with defrauding the General Electric Capital Corp. out of $10 million.
Barry’s reaction:
The morning after winning South Carolina’s primary, Sen. Barack Obama said he has shared everything that is to be known about his relationship with indicted Chicago developer Tony Rezko.
Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” the Illinois Democrat and presidential hopeful also answered a series of questions about racial campaigning and his leading challenger, Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Obama was asked specifically about a paragraph in an endorsement in Sunday’s editions of the Chicago Tribune that calls on him to “divulge all there is to know about that relationship.”
The editorial continues: “Until you do, the journalistic scrubbing and opposition research will intensify. You should have recognized Rezko as a political seducer of young talent. But given that you’ve not been accused of any crime or ethical breach, your Rezko history is not a deal-breaker.”
Obama responded by saying there is nothing more to say.
Oh, but there is more to say. We’ve only just begun! Michelle says that It’s not the end of the story.

Shortly after his election to the U.S. Senate, Obama bought a house for $300,000 below the asking price. The same day, Rezko’s wife bought the lot next door for full price. Months later, Obama bought a sliver of the Rezko land to expand his yard.
As a state senator, Obama wrote letters supporting some Rezko deals.
Hey SFL, why would he continue to take donations from Rezko if he publically returned them when questioned in 2006?

Obama promised change, real change. Seems to me this is just more of the same. Except one difference with Obama: he went corrupt faster than many pols.

Obama seems to have the ability to make the slimer look worse than the slimed.
He’s talking about moving beyond the old political style, the very same style the Clintons (and others) are trying to fight with.
Liberals have a way of ignoring bad news when it’s about them but playing it up to the hilt when a Republican is involved. The important point here is that Obama has put himself forward as an agent of “hope” and “change” when he is really just the same old same old.
When first elected to the US Senate he asked Rezko for “advice” on how he could buy a house which was way beyond his means (source: ABC News). Which is a not so thinly disguised way of saying his influence was for sale to a known corrupt Chicago “fixer”. So please don’t talk to me about Obama being Mr. Hope&Change when he is just as corrupt as the rest of them. Don’t be surprised if more sordid details come out soon.
