Super Tuesday Results..Everybody Still In
Via Fox News:
Despite the heavy focus on Super Tuesday, no candidate was able to clinch the nomination.
On the Democratic side, 1,681 delegates were up for grabs Tuesday and 2,025 are needed to secure the party’s nomination. For Republicans, 1,023 delegates were being decided Tuesday and 1,191 are needed to win the Republican nomination.
No candidate had enough delegates banked already to reach those majorities.
McCain leads with 613 delegates, to 269 for Romney and 190 for Huckabee.
Clinton 845 delegates, to 765 for Obama
The pundits noticed something:
Democrats played out a historic struggle between two senators: Clinton, seeking to become the first female president, and Obama, hoping to become the first black to win the White House.
I’m glad they told us that, because I never would have known!
