Bad Plan: U.S. Northern Command, Canada Command establish new bilateral Civil Assistance Plan

Guest post by Robert:

I’ve mentioned this on the blog a couple of times, but I don’t think anyone realizes the seriousness of the situation. This agreement allows the administration to deploy foreign troops on US soil without congressional approval:

U.S. Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, and Canadian Air Force Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, commander of Canada Command, have signed a Civil Assistance Plan that allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency.

This will allow a hostile (I.e. Democratic) administration to order the confiscation of all privately owned firearms in the country and use a foreign military to enforce that order. Once the bulk of the privately held guns are illegally confiscated in this country, it will be ripe for a tyrannical dictatorship. If this were done after the military is substantially reduced in size and capability, as it was under the CLinton administration, our overseas commitments would leave a skeleton force here. When the armed resistance would break out against the order, the President could order that members of Congress and the Supreme Court be taken into protective custody effectively nullifying the other two branches of government.

  7. Sunday, a day of rest?

Today is the LORD’s day, and we are supposed to take the day off to honor Him and be grateful for all He has done. I am so very grateful, so why can’t I rest? …

PS. I trackbacked, but I guess it didn’t go through. ;)

  15. Actually the agreement is legal. It’s bad news considering other aspects of the difference between US soldiers and Canadian ones. US Soldiers are taught to question orders that they believe to be unlawful, Canadian soldiers, like British ones, are taught to follow orders blindly. Likewise, Canada does not have the right to keep and bear arms as is guaranteed in the US Constitution, therefore they wouldn’t think twice about using whatever force was necessary, including lethal force, to confiscate all of the privately owned firearms if ordered to do so. This is an attempt to circumvent the Constitution and the Posse Comitatus act by deploying foreign troops on US soil without having Congressional approval. DOES ANYONE want to see Hillary Clinton have this power available to her? Considering her selection of Janet “Send the troops to Waco and burn them out” Reno for AG? Or her recent statement that “This time we’re going to make it stick” while holding a copy of H.R. 1022 the most comprehensive gun ban and confiscation legislation in the history of this country? Or, her comment that she’d confiscate every privately owned gun if the country if she could? What about the food riots that are going to occur when the price of food doubles at the same time that wages are depressed or jobs lost due to a massive influx of low cost labor from south of the border?
