Spitzer: The Expected Reaction From The Left
You didn’t really expect the left to chastise Spitzer for his behavior did you? As expected, it doesn’t pass their smell test:
Some Questions About the Spitzer Incident
1. Why would the bank tell the IRS and not Spitzer himself if there was a suspicious transfer? Spitzer is a longtime client, a rich guy and the governor. We’re talking thousands of dollars here, not millions. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense that they spotted a “suspicious transfer” made by the governor, and that this is how things began. It’s possible it was just ordinary paperwork the bank had to file with the government whenever some particular flag was raised, but if that’s the case, why did the DoJ go to DefCon 3?
2. What is a USA doing prosecuting a prostitution case? This isn’t normally what the feds spend their time with.
3. Mike Garcia is a Chertoff crony. Sources familiar with the investigation say that he sent a prosecution memo to DC two months ago asking for authority to indict a public figure (Spitzer). Which means they had their case made long before the wire tap of February 13. Why did they then include this line from that conversation in the complaint?
This salacious detail does not seem like it’s necessary to make their case, and appears to be added for no other purpose than to destroy Spitzer’s career.
4. How did Spitzer’s name get leaked to the media, and who did it? Didn’t happen to Dave Vitter.
5. Why did Mike Bloomberg suddenly start talking about running for governor recently? And why did he give $500,000 to Joe Bruno? He’s good buddies with Mike Mukasey. What did he know and how did he know it?
6. The Mann Act? Are you kidding?
7. Spitzer’s been in the line of fire of the GOP hit squad for a while. Roger Stone, Roger Stone, Roger Stone.
There are all kinds of things about this that just don’t pass the smell test.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer Presser: Apologizes
So far I haven’t seen him say he’ll resign. I understand that David Vitter got a standing ovation from his Republican pals when he returned to Congress, but that’s Republicans:FOX News reports that he’s going to resign, but that’s FOX:He apologizes to his family and to the public”promises better”but he did not say he’s resigning in the presser:
Here’s more info on the scandal. We know Wall Street hates him too:
(note those commenting don’t agree with his post~Pam)
This is sort of the boring take on Spitzer, but what we’re seeing here is not the fall — if indeed he does fall — of a high-flying governor. It’s the final tumble of a crushed reformer. Spitzer, for reasons both structural and personal, has been utterly humbled by Albany. The new capitalism he promised, the age of transparency he spoke of, the national ambitions he harbored — all have broken before the obstacles he faced in the governor’s mansion. When you think of the hype he was getting only a couple years ago, that’s a rather remarkable fact. I don’t care about the prostitution. But the capacity of the system to stand against those who would reform it, and who come into office with a broad mandate to do so, is really quite sobering.
“Spitzer Is Linked to Prostitution Ring”
At $5500/hour, the Emperor’s Club prostitutes cost Spitzer approximately the same as Rudy’s security detail cost the taxpayers of NYC every time that Rudy went to the Hamptons on a tryst with Judy.

Spitzer a capitalist? What moron wrote that line? Spitzer has been pushing for one tax hike after another. That’s absolutely antithetical to being a capitalist. Anyone with two functioning brain cells knows that tax rate increases do NOT promote capitalism, but rather stifle it. WHY? Because Taxes are an expense that does nothing to contribute to the bottom line. They don’t buy inventory, they don’t pay labor expenses, they don’t produce sales. They simply take money out of the company coffers that would otherwise be used to grow the company. That’s why tax rate reductions always lead to tax revenue increases. The ebst analogy I’ve been able to come up with is to look at money as seeds. The more seeds that the farmer has to plant in his fields, the more crop that he can grow. The higher the percentage of seed that the government takes, the lower the amount of remaining seed that the farmer has available to plant. If one planted seed produces 200 more seeds when the crop comes in, it makes much more sense to take a smaller percentage of seeds and get more seeds in the long run. A farmer who pays 20% of his 300 seeds in taxes only has 240 seeds to plant and only produces 48000 new seeds. After paying 20 % again, the farmer has paid 9660 seeds and only has 38400 seeds to plant.
However had the farmer paid 10% of his harvest in taxes the first year, he’d have had 270 seeds to plant with a yield of 54000 seeds. Paying 10% would’ve yielded 5300 seeds to the government and 49000 to plant. After 8 years, the amount of seed paid in tax at the lower rate is double that at the higher rate. Which is better, to raise rates, stifle growth and reduce revenues? Or to lower rates, increase growth and increase revenues?

Oh, yes! Circle the wagons, rationalize it all away! He’s a Democrite, so it is just a personal matter.
Frankly, I wouldn’t give a damn if Spitzer hadn’t been such a zealous prosecutor/persecutor of others.

What is the tie between the mysterious high priced call girl ” Kristen” who serviced the Governor and Roger and Nydia Stone the acknowldeged ” swingers” who were outed by the National Enquirer a few years ago?
The Stone’s frequented a Swingers sex club called le Trapeze in NYC and were ” regulars” in a 3-some with a beutiful girl named “Kristen” who worked as a prostitute.
I heard the Stones were trying to ‘flip” the girl to the Feds because she had a hush-hush high profile client who I know believe is Eliot Spitzer.
Thais was a SET-UP !

I’m pretty sure that had this been a set-up, they’d have outted him before he was elected.

I kind of doubt that someone runs a set up for over 6 years and charges the mark in excess of $80,000 for services rendered during that time.

I saw Spitzer on TV last night and he is an ugly SOB!
No wonder he had to pay $5k/pop for those hookers! They probably charge most clients $500.
