The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary.
Elections workers will look for evidence that voters lied when they signed affidavits pledging allegiance to their new party:
After the election, some local Republicans admitted they changed parties only to influence which Democrat would face presumed Republican nominee John McCain in November. One voter scribbled the following addendum to his pledge as a new Democrat: “For one day only.”Such an admission amounts to voter fraud, said [board member Sandy] McNair, who pushed for the investigation:
Lying on the signed statement is a fifth-degree felony, punishable by six to 12 months in jail and a $2,500 fine.

Interesting…
When I went to the polls, I was told that it weas perfectly legal to do this, as I asked the pollworker before hand. I explained that I hated parties and have no affiliation, and if there was any obligation forth-going to vote for Democrats or in Democrat primaries going forward. I was told it was fine, and that I can change what primary I voted in with the next election and that there would be no burdon to vote Democratic in November.
My thoughts? Another poor attempt by Democrats to effect electoral outcome via a poorly progressive legal system and an attempt to remove individual voter’s rights.
Rsuh Limbaugh has already said that if they TRY to prosecute anyone in Ohio, he’ll start up a legal defense fund. Anyone care to guess what the board of elections will be facing if Rush’s listener base sends in even a couple of dollars each? Not to mention the number of attornies who will sign on for the free publicity? Cuyahoga County could find itself in worse financial trouble than it was when Kucinich was mayor of Cleveland. I think there could be some SERIOUS lawsuits flying if they should try.
