Howard Dean Has A Headache With Gay Written All Over It

Pat Robertson was the host and Dean didn’t know what the venue was?

Dean sparked the ire of the gay community when he said in an interview in May of 2006 on the Christian Broadcasting Network’s “700 Club” hosted by evangelist Pat Robertson that the Democratic Party platform from 2004 states “marriage is between a man and a woman.”

Later, in hopes of quelling the firestorm, Dean apologized, saying he “misstated the Democratic Party’s platform, which does not say that marriage should be limited to a man and a woman, but says the party is committed to full inclusion of gay and lesbian families in the life of our nation and leaves the issue to the states to decide.”

In his March 6 deposition, Dean said he didn’t realize the interview was intended for the “700 Club.” He thought it would air on the ABC Family Network.

“Pat Robertson is a well-known member of the far right and I generally don’t do interviews on far right networks,” Dean said. “Because I think they are incredibly unfair, biased and hate mongering.”

Keep in mind, whether the interview aired on the 700 Club or ABC Family Channel, Robertson was still the host! Hence, we can see why the Democratic party is in the mess it is!

Dean paid Kos to give him good press in 2004

On Dean’s campaign, we paid Markos and Jerome Armstrong as consultants, largely in order to ensure that they said positive things about Dean. We paid them over twice as much as we paid two staffers of similar backgrounds, and they had several other clients. While they ended up also providing useful advice, the initial reason for our outreach was explicitly to buy their airtime. To be very clear, they never committed to supporting Dean for the payment — but it was very clearly, internally, our goal.

Nothing says warmth and positive energy like Kos. No hate there!

In his deposition, Dean blamed the gay media — in particular, the Washington Blade — for fanning the flames of dissatisfaction within the gay community.

So there you go, Dean is without fault…

I wouldn’t pay Kos to clean the toilets. I would however, flush Kos and the like down those same toilets…
