Chelsea Was Asked “The” Question

Chelsea is out stumping for her Mother, as we all know. Do you feel that this question was appropriate:

Chelsea Clinton had a quick retort Tuesday when asked whether her mother’s credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

“Wow, you’re the first person actually that’s ever asked me that question in the, I don’t know maybe, 70 college campuses I’ve now been to, and I do not think that is any of your business,” Clinton said during a campaign visit for her mother, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Clinton had picked out the male questioner as she wrapped up a question-and-answer session at Butler University. It wasn’t immediately clear what statement by the first lady the questioner was referring to. Before she was fully aware of her husband’s relationship with Lewinsky, a White House intern, Hillary Clinton said the allegations about that relationship were manufactured by a “vast right-wing conspiracy.”

Here is my take. If the question is going to be asked, talk to Bill or Hill. It was an ignorant question to ask their child. Chelsea was hurt by the Lewinsky scandal as well as all the others, but at the end of the day, she loves both parents, and to me, those are her feelings, and no, we don’t have the right to know..She is a figure head out there on the campaign trail. If voters are looking to her for answers, that party is in more trouble than I first thought.

What is your take?

  3. The reporter asked whether Hitlary’s credibility had been damaged, not any details about the affair. What an idiot, Chelsea! That wasn’t what was asked. And yes, it is a very legitimate question, and is everyone’s business.

  4. I am not a big fan of the Clintons, however, I don’t think asking their daughter that question was necessary. Everyone knows what a scumbag Bill Clinton is and what a numbskull Hillary was for putting up with it. Asking that question to their daughter is just kind of tacky to me. However, I wouldn’t have a problem with a reporter asking her parents the question. :d

  5. On the other hand, if Chelsea is feeling confident enough to go out there and campaign for her mother she should know this is part of the territory. Everytime they give NOYB awkward silence on a subject suggests they don’t want to talk about it until they’ve developed some plausible fiction on the matter.
