Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Oh, how sweet it is!

I loved the picture from the slideshow, it shows them attending a session of Maryland’s legislature..

“The voices are louder, but I doubt a single piece of legislation will get through,” said Del. Ana Sol Gutierrez (D-Mont). She said opponents of illegal immigration are “better organized now, but they are not convincing the hearts and minds of the people. Maryland is still an immigrant-friendly environment.”

Huh? The hearts and minds of the American people? Wake up you ignorant, obstructionist jackass! ~70% of the American people are already convinced. It is you and your like that are daily breaking your oath and refusing to do your duty in representing the people that are the problem!

If the Republicans were smart about this, the state could turn over to Republican leadership. Unfortunately, Republicans are also pro-globalist pro-illegal immigrants morons.

I absolutely agree. Immigration is one of the most important issues to the voters, a sure winner in State or National politics. Yet the Repubs are either too stupid or too corrupted to take advantage of it.

It’s one of the reasons I registered as Independent.

Well expect it to get worse before it gets better. Congress’s last appropriations bill in December eliminates the Dept of Homeland Security’s authority to even build a fence after 12/31/08. Read that again. IT ELIMINATES THE AUTHORITY TO EVEN BUILD IT. Not only are our fine (?) Representatives (?) NOT funding it, they’re pulling DHS’s authority to even build a fence. With all three that we have running for President being open borders advocates, we’ll be up to our butts in aliens in a couple of years. In the article is talked about a counstruction worker who has lost work to illegal aliens. Imagine what happens when all of them are handed working papers at the border. There will be millions of American citizens being displaced by Mexicans. Anyone without a position requiring certification will be at risk as employers will simply lower payscales to a level that Americans won’t be willing to accept. The job will then become a “Job Americans won’t do” and they can fill it with as many Mexicans as they want.

McCain’s speech today made it abundantly clear that he intends to hand US sovereignty over to other countries. Anyone care to bet how long it takes him to proclaim that building a fence will be such a hardship on our “Good Neighbors” to the south that doing so must stop immediately?

I do have one question for the Open Borders twits. If they think American citizens are mad NOW about the aliens taking jobs and depressing wages, how mad do they think they’ll be when the unemploymnet rate among US citizens reaches 20% because of them? I would think they would realize that the situation is only going to get worse unless they start repatrioting the illegals. Otherwise, it could be a reenactment of the 50s and 60s only with illegal aliens hanging from trees along the side of the road. I would hate to see that or a revolution happen, but in all honesty, I fear that’s where we’re headed. If the government doesn’t go back to representing the CITIZENS of this country, the citizens will replace them by force. They also need to understand that it would only take 1% of the population of this country to revolt and overthrow the government. That’s fewer people than are paid members of the NRA. With 70+% speaking out against illegal aliens, exactly what are these government idiots thinking?

BTW 1% of the population comes to over 3 million people. That’s more people than it took to overrun Europe and defeat the Nazis.

This is really a great article but I have to tell you guys that the state will go bankrupt before it goes republican. The idiots is Montgomery and Prince George county are the ones who voted O’Malley the thug in to begin with.

Because O’Malley is taxing us to death and bullying people into paying them he will also most likely get his way on this. Maryland is not a big state to begin with and bordering Delware (no sales tax) and Pennsylvania (4%) and Virginia people are either leaving or at the least shopping in other states. But his goal is to make money with slots (his 2009 budget is already counting on the revenues from that) or selling drivers licenses to illegals.

Bear in mind MTA has been selling drivers licenses to illegals both here AND ABROAD at the rate of 1000 a week (soon to be 2000) once the new equipment is bought.

Someone should find out if any of the highjackers on 9/11 had a Maryland DL obtained that way. It could be the basis for one hell of a lawsuit against MD. Same thing applies to ANY previously deported alien in this country that commits any crime.

Hi FAO…the fact is that some of the hijackers stayed in Greenbelt and Laurel, two small enclaves of DC and rented cars. One (I think it was Atta) was stopped for a traffic violation on 95 just above Baltimore on his way north.

I actually had not heard where they got their licenses but apparently this is not a new thing in Maryland. My understanding is Erhlich(R) put a stop to it during his administration making all of the dems mad and O’Malley who is an absolutely, utterly dangerous, bullying politician is bringing back the program aggressively. There is a republican voice in the state but it’s small for the most part. On this one we can only hope there are some who do see the danger, partisanship aside and vote accordingly.
