If Elected, These 42 Democrats Promise Not To Fight Terrorism

By: Pam On: Mar/28/08 - 7 Comments

Think I’m kidding?

More than three dozen Democratic congressional candidates banded together yesterday to promise that, if elected, they will push for legislation calling for an immediate drawdown of troops in Iraq that would leave only a security force in place to guard the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad…

The starkest difference between the group’s proposal, dubbed a “Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq,” and those embraced by many senior Democrats and the party’s presidential candidates is that it rejects the idea of leaving U.S. troops on the ground to train Iraqi security forces or engage in anti-terrorism operations. The group instead calls for a dramatic increase in regional diplomacy and the deployment of international peacekeeping forces, if necessary.

Brian Faughnan:

While it is both novel and reckless to propose withdrawing all U.S. troops from Iraq, these Democrats share one critical element with the Democrats already elected to power in Washington — they refuse to commit to a timetable. Nevertheless, the anti-war wingnut crowd should really believe them this time, since they pinky-swore it.

The document also seems to follow the Obama Doctrine on Iraq: we’re getting out as fast as we can, regardless of conditions on the ground, and we reserve the right to get back in if we learn that al Qaeda is, in fact, operating in the country.

I think what they fail to realize is that if we leave Iraq, lock, stock and barrel there will be no going back. If they think the deaths of 4,000 soldiers isn’t worth it, going back would be absolutely catatrophic.

Their utter lack of common sense, logic, and understanding of what is right in front of their noses is almost beyond description and belief.

Shame on the morons and babbling idiots who voted these cretins into office.

Sort of like Jimma Cahter who made one mistake after another and who ultimately started this whole mess.

Don’t get me started on Jimmy “Peanut Brain” Carter. He is arguably the most incompetent, disastrous President in US History. We are still paying and will be paying for many years to come for his failures.

If the Dems expand their control of the Congress and win the White House, we will see a HUGE upswing in positive news being portrayed in the MSM. These idiots are talking out of both sides of their mouths. They’re saying they’re going to withdraw the troops and replace them with a multinational peacekeeping force, at the same time that they KNOW (or at least SHOULD know) that the only country that can put together a functional force to operate in Iraq is US. Hence, the bulk of the multinational force will be Americans. The only difference will be our highly trained and motivated soldiers will be saddled with less able troops from other countries to cover their backs. Think Black Hawk Down scenario all over again. If it weren’t for the Ethiopians being willing to send in their armor to help get our rangers out, the casualties would’ve been a lot higher. Other countries weren’t as willing to help. The book covers a lot of information that just can’t be put into a 2 hour movie. Why are the Democrats so in favor of sending our soldiers out into hostile territory without adequate means to protect themselves? Why don’t we drop a bunch of them into the DC projects at night with nothing but their wallets and wristwatches to defend themselves with.

FAO…sometime ago I believe you offered stats on crimes that were aborted because the intended victim pulled a gun as opposed to accidents with handguns.

Is it possible to point me to a place where that statistic is available. I need it to win a debate with a lib ;)

    I’d be eternally grateful. BonBon

It’s a fact that so many of these anti-2nd Amendment elitist AHs live in places where that aren’t “diverse”. They don’t know what it is like to live in crime-infested areas and hoods. They don’t use public transportation, don’t shop sat the neighborhood stores, and aren’t exposed to reality.

They have no clue; their heads are so far up their backsides. Yet they sit there and pontificate about how everything should be.
