Above: MSM Darling of the Past
Earlier this week the MSM was reporting on the fighting in Basra between Iraqi security forces and elements of Muqtada (Mookie) Al Sadr’s Mahdi Militia. Except it wasn’t reporting; the reports invariably ended with editorials asserting Mookie was just flexing his muscle; demonstrating that by no means does the Gov’t have control in Iraq. When the cease-fire halted the fighting, the MSM “reporters” asserted Mookie had accomplished his objective and now wanted to demonstrate his control over events by halting the fighting, plus look like the benevolent power to the people. Prime Minister Al Maliki was only too glad to accept Mookie’s offer and have Iraqi forces retreat behind American protection.
But those who are capable of thinking for themselves, accessing diverse sources of information then reaching their own conclusions, are not fooled by such MSM propaganda. Just yesterday, after most of the MSM had already lost interest in the story and moved on, it quietly was revealed that Iraqi troops were rolling into Basra to finish the job on the remaining elements of the Mahdi militia that had not been killed or fled. Does that sound like Iraqi forces that were only too happy to accept Mookie’s benevolence and run away with their tails between their legs? Here’s a link to a good discussion of this issue.

I was astounded and outraged when the MSM propagandists reported the events in Basra, then twisted the story to leave the induced conclsuion that:
1. We are not winning.
2. The “surge” is a failure.
3. Iraqi forces are not getting better.
4. Iraq is an endless quagmire.
5. Bush lied 1000s died.
etc. ad nauseum.
This wasn’t news, this wasn’t reporting, this was blatant lies and propaganda. No balance whatsoever! It couldn’t have been more propagandized if it was issued by Bin Laden’s people, or that Baghdad Bob clown in 2003.
The MSM truly is infested with traitors and vermin. I offer this example as just more in an ever-growing mountain of evidence that has already proven this truth.

#8 Pam great link:
“The ceasefire came on March 30, after six days of fighting, and was seemingly unilateral in the sense that the Iraqi government made no apparent concessions in return. By that time, 571 Mahdi Army fighters had been killed, 881 wounded, 490 captured, and 30 had surrendered countrywide, according to numbers tabulated by The Long War Journal. Thus, an estimated 95 Mahdi Army fighters were killed per day during the six days of fighting. In contrast, al Qaeda in Iraq did not incur such intense casualties even during the height of the surge.”
Stupid lying propagandists in our very own MSM! Looks to me more like Mookie got his ass kicked. No wonder he declared a unilateral cease-fire, he was getting his ass handed to him!
Frankly, the NY Slimes, CNN, and other MSM rags and so-called “News” outlets have shown over and over again they cannot be relied upon. They are at best sloppy and careless, at worst outright liars and propagandists. They should be publicly disgraced, humiliated, and relegated to the trash heap. I hope the NYT and similar rags go under, and the ratings drop so low for CNN and the alphabet prime time news programs they have no influence at all.
