Pelosi Has No Idea What We Pay For Gas

In March, the national average was $3.24/gallon. As of April 21, the average was $3.508 with the change from a week ago being 0.119 and the change from a year ago being 0.639 .
Via MM comes this video of Larry King pressing Nancy on her promise to lower prices, which hasn’t happened:
“$2.56 on average”? A couple of things wrong here:
1. If the price was a dollar something and it is now $2.56, how does that equate to the prices have trippled?
2. Larry King of all people corrected her. He tells her it is actually $3.50 and she says “Oh, it’s down six cents.”
Hey Nancy, the average price in SF is $3.98/gallon. In California as of April 21, 2008: the average was $3.846 with the change from a week ago being 0.072 and the change from a year ago being 0.530.
Lawsuits and investigations take time Nancy, the people need relief now. Suspend the federal tax on gasoline!

She’s another very rich Democrite elitist, with ho connection to reality or any awareness of the pain the failed leadership in our Gov’t has caused.
But I know, I know…the Democrites “care about the common people”. They’re “fighting for you!”
yeah, right…

Keep in mind that this is the same woman who got cheers and a standing ovation when she told a bunch of twentysomethings that there wasn’t anything wrong with Social Security, it would be solvent for another 40 years. Neither she nor they had the brains to figure out that that meant it was going to go belly up just as they were about to begin drawing benefits. IDIOTS

Yea! I know too, and we all know now. We’re going to know lots more when all the ‘cost is counted.’ It’s going to be tough, but you know what they say, When things get tough, the tough get going. . . and going. . . and going. Like the energizer battery. We are all ingenious, so we’ll be OKAY! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Hey, we’ll be like Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego and NOT bow our knee to bail (Barrack) and come out of the fiery furnace with NOT even the smell of smoke.
PS: Anyone got a sling shot, and a couple of rocks!

4. Good point FAO. I hear alot of tales like that. Liberals have no common sense whatsoever and refuse to open their eyes, look at the past, and learn some lessons. We would all be better off if they did.

Social Security. Klinton said it was in trouble, and the Dems were very concerned. Bush got in and said it was in trouble let’s fix it.
The Democrites, not wanting to fundamentally change SS to fix it because it effectively included letting people have some control over their money, suddenly proclaimed there was nothing at all wrong!
Now as Bush gets close to leaving, suddenly there is a huge problem again!
That’s just one more example of why I hate them so much. They are so politicized they would ruin the country for their own perceived political expediency.

I heard a military guy say on the radio, “they may should form a coup if Obama got elected” and take over the government. Sounds like a good idea, someone needs to. FAO keep all ammo in reserve, the military may need it, should America be attacked by Michelle and Barrack Hussein Obama. I notice he says, “He’s going to make America Great”??? excuse me! How the F_______ does he plan to do that, when all he has done is slam us with racism and rub our nose in it, saying America is too oppressive so he doesn’t want to take sides by wearing an American Flag Lapel Pin. I tell you where he can stick his pin, up his. Michelle can take her pride and stick it as well, up hers. Those two are so non-patriotic and idiotic they make me sick. A coup is right, sooner the better. This is the worst most hated candidate in the history of America. His pastor ? needs to just keep up his nasty non-Godly talking and stick it. WAY up his too. Just don’t even get me started with Pill-osi, and Huffy Puffy Post. Two rotten peas in a pod.
Hey Obammunism: America is already great! FYI

Here are a couple little history and economics lessons for you.
History
Q: Who was the first president to lobby for every person being allowed to have private accounts invested in stocks in order to fund their retirements aka privatizing Social Security?
A: Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Privatized accounts were in the original plan for Social Security but were dropped because Republicans were afraid that another stock market collapse like they had experienced only a few year earlier in 1929 would wipe out everyone’s savings.
Economics
Q: What happens to stock markets when large quantities of capital (money) is pumped into the as would happen if Social Security were partially privatized.
A: The Law of Supply and demand would kick into effect and stock prices would rise and companies would be able to develop new products, build new facilities, hire more people and increase production. Salaries would rise as more jobs would be created than could be filled and companies would be forced to pay more in order to fill the positions.
Q: What happens when incomes rise, production increases, and companies have bigger profits?
A: The value of the stock increases therefore anyone owning stock accrues wealth. There were employees who had worked for Woolworth’s and been in the employee stock purchase plan who despite working for low wages while employed had VERY substantial portfolios when they retired. Why? Because the $10 - 20 a week they were putting into Woolworth’s stock was gaining value and splitting 2 and 4 to 1 every couple of years. Had I bought stock in Woolworth’s when I became eligible as a FootLocker employee in 1989, and been able to keep it through my divorce in 1992, for every $20 I had put into the plan, I would probably have over $1000 now. The stock split 2 for 1 and again 4 for 1 less than 18 months later. With a purchase price at the time of $16, a $16 investment in 1999 was worth over $250 by 1992. A 1000% gain in under 3 years.
Q: How many congressmen and their staffers are enrolled in a privatized plan through the federal government?
A: All of them. The very people who decry privatized plans as bad for America, are themselves enrolled in them. That means that all of the congress members who claimed that privatized plans would ruin anyone who signed up for them’s retirement are either liars for calling the plans bad, or fools for signing up for one themselves.
