I worked with a gentleman in SoCal who adopted a couple of Black kids. To the racist Black Social Workers of LA, he was just another White Cracker from Idaho (Yes, his family lives in Idaho) who isn’t raising the kids right. See they didn’t hate whitey.

I think they should spend all of thirty seconds attempting to put a black kid with black parents. Then put them with the next qualified, Gay, straight or otherwise, as long as they can provide a stable home. Anywhere but the foster system.

I know a white couple who adopted a black boy, then later a handicapped asian girl.

But they are racists, of course, being white.

All of you have made tremendous points..now let’s take it to the next level. Each of you knows someone that adopted/and or took in foster children and may or may not have adopted, but at least cared for the child. In the case of PCD, his daugter, whom he is very proud of and never mentions adoption when discussing her unless it is pertinent to the subject, is a Korean…When incentives are brought into the mix, aren’t we looking for trouble? If people aren’t coming out now to take in foster children, what is paying them more going to do? Will more money be offered across the board, or just for minorities? Cities are overwhelmed now and bad caregivers slip through the cracks more often than not. Will there be increased scrutiny or business as usual? Will we have the best interest of the child in mind or will we be more concerned about quotas?

To take this to another patch, are we saying that people should stay with their own ethnic group when having children? There are many women out there raising children on their own and that child looks nothing like the race of the mother..should we stop that too?

If you can only raise kids of your own race, David, then you are saying Obama ought to have been taken away from his mother.

People like you are so idiotic that you make me puke. Parachute into China and live in the earthquake zone until you wake up!

David didn’t say that PCD. His point was that after 30 seconds of attempting to placate the pc crowd, do what is in the best interest of the child and get them into a loving home, regardless of the color of the parents skin.

Thanks, Pam. That was exactly what I meant. I’m not a socialogist, but what ever is gained by waiting to put the kid with someone of his/her own race is dashed by the turbulance of the foster system. My nephew went through it and it did a number on him.

    David,

I have seen the Social Workers in SoCal and in Nebraska. The ones in SoCal are so racist they need shrinks and shouldn’t be near children.

The domestic adoption system is so F’d up that it is easier to go to Korea or China to get a kid. I waited only 13 months for Brenda Sung Mee. I’ve met people who are still waiting for over 10 years to get a US kid because of the “Socialist Workers”.
