Another Example of Why America Is In Trouble
Part of the Problem
It Is Because of Incompetent, Idiotic, and Militantly-ignorant “Leaders” Like This One
From the “Agenda” section of Senator Harry Reid’s website:
Energy Independence
We will create a cleaner, greener and stronger America by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, eliminating billions in subsidies for oil and gas companies and use the savings to provide consumer relief and develop energy alternatives, and investing in energy independent technology.
Energy independence puts America in the driver’s seat to pursue affordable and efficient energy solutions that will benefit all Americans, improve America’s security, reduce the burden on American families, and help clean our environment.
American families should not have to pay the price for a failed national energy policy. They deserve an energy policy that creates a cleaner and stronger America that reduces our dependence on foreign oil and also creates new jobs for American workers. By clearing the pathways to innovation, investing in our workers and infrastructure, and providing American consumers with broader, more responsible choices, the Democratic plan will provide the tools to help move America forward, toward real energy security for the 21st century.
*************************************************************
Oh, it sounds so wonderful! It’s enough to give an idiot goose bumps, just reading about how wonderful Senator Reid and the Democraps are going to do all of this!
To anyone with even average IQ, this is immediately recognizable as 99% rhetoric, fluff, bullshit. And if that person has the ability to think for himself, it falls apart very quickly. There is not one hint of how Reid proposes any of that can actually be done; not even the tiniest clue he even understands how. The only identifiable tactic, the remaining 1% of the statement, is to go after big oil. The babbling buffoon, like idiotic Senator Barbara Boxer and others, apparently doesn’t understand and can’t figure out anything done to raise the cost of doing business for the oil companies will simply be passed on to the consumer. And absolutely nothing will be accomplished other than to raise prices again.
Now why not make a commitment to fast-track clean, non-polluting, cheap, SAFE nuclear energy? And don’t worry about your Yucca Mountain, Senator Reid! Reprocessing technology enables spent fuel rods to be recycled, recovering the useful radioactive material and leaving only a small quantity of radioactive byproducts that can be stored onsite at nuclear plants for about 50 years or so until they are harmless. Despite spending billions on Yucca Mountain, we don’t even need it anymore. Reid can use it to store money from his corrupt Nevada land deals until it can be laundered.
There is not even a single good reason to oppose Nuclear Energy. The federal Gov’t should announce a program to end all uses of fossil fuels for electric generation by 2014. Fast-track nuclear plant applications. Overrule by statute all anti-nuclear whackjob Jane Fonda China Syndrome types. Disband the Sierra Klub.
And that’s just for starters. I and many others know precisely how to accomplish the laudable goals Reid and other Cretins in our so-called leadership blather about, but then seem so clueless when it comes to doing or even talking about any solutions that will actually accomplish these necessary goals.
Help me to understand this: Are they truly that ignorant/stupid? Why do they seem to want to destroy our economy and our Country? I cannot think of any other explanation for them other than severe mental illness. I don’t know how else to explain it; I am at a loss to explain such monumental idiocy, such horrendous incompetence, such militant stupidity!

I’m surprised we still have an energy problem. I remember the democrats promising to fix that problem if we elected them in 06. You mean they did not do as they promised? I’m shocked.

And while we want to be energy independent the demacrooks and liberal republicans want to forever ban oil drilling in the ANWR by making it into a wilderness or wildlands to appease the eco-freaks and hollyweed greens and were still paying blood money to OOEC and they will try and use the theatened status of polarbears to do it and most alaskans dislike the greens

We have around 100 years worth of coal and the technology to burn it cleanly. We have over 50 years worth of oil, if we remove the legal barriers to drilling for it. We have plenty of land and companies wanting to build refineries, if the democrats would just get out of the way. While the supplies of fossil fuels will eventually run out, there are more than enough there to last until we can develop alternatives and advance them to the point of economic viability.
On the topic of Yucca Mountain, the arguments against it are so inane, I’d laugh if people weren’t prostesting it because of them. In the article I read about the facility, it said that all waste would be stored in STAINLESS STEEL containers in a concrete underground vault. Once full the vault would be over 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The only problem that could possibly occur would be if liquid water managed to seep into the vault and corrode the containers. Anyone with two brain cells see why this is a NON issue? If the containers are made of stainless steel, how is a little water supposed to corrode them? Secondly, If the interior of the vault is going to be over 400 degrees Fahrenheit, liquid water won’t exist in the vault. In fact any liquid water getting within a couple of ft of the vault would become heated to the point of turing to steam and venting back out through the ground. All in all, a straw man argument at best.

Carolyne,
There are two examples of exactly the kind of conditions that these twits are heading this country towards and neither end well for them. Those two examples are 1780s France and 1917 Russia. On both occasions, an elitst oligarchy/monarchy raised taxes on the populace to the point of collapsing the economy resulting in wide spread starvation and anarchy. As the soldiers weren’t able to feed their families because of the resulting inflation and inavailability of food, they joined with the citizenry when it revolted against the government. For those who are a recent product of public education, those are the dates for the French and Russian revolutions. In both cases, the ruling elites were either driven from the country pursued by rampaging mobs, or executed. In the case of France, in a spectacular fashion in the middle of Paris. It wasn’t called the Reign of Terror for nothing.

He’s busy putting Obama yard signs up. Obama is his new Messiah. SFL says he is not religious but he sure has deep faith in Obama as the Savior.
And according to the Left, the common folks, us Proletariat, shouldn’t have cars and be using gasoline anyway. Of course the arch-hypocrite elitists like Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and the other oligarchist Democrites will always have their limos and private jets, but the rest of us must crowd onto buses for our two-hour ride across town to work to pay the taxes.

Gee what a surprise. Another politician promising energy independence. Sorry, guys. You can’t blame this on the democrats totally. How many Repubs promised the same thing during their tenure. We still are where we are at since the 70’s. How long of the blame game do we play. For the nickel’s worth of oil in Anwar, I wish they’d drill there just to hush everyone up.

You’re right SFL! Just use less fuel! How utterly simple and elegant! WHY didn’t WE think of that?
Starting tomorrow, you people stop going to work. You can take the bus or light rail to the store to shop; anything you can’t carry in a little two-wheeled cart you don’t need anyway.
If you can’t take public transportation, then quit your job, or just don’t do it. Your welfare checks will be mailed to you.
This will do it!
Oh, wait…SFL, there’s just a little problem. The population is growing fast, a lot of it from illegal immigration and oversized Muslim and Hispanic families. Uh, oh! That means MORE fuel usage! Oh NO, Mr. BIll!

Most auto dealers can’t even move SUVs off their lots anymore. They’re offering two years of free gas just so people will take `em. Even heard Bill O`Reily supporting Mandatory flexfuel on US auto industry products…sounds like you’re on the wrong side of history-in-the-making. Again.

My point, SFL, which has gone right over your head, is that a rising population guarantees our fuel consumption will go up, despite conservation efforts.
So which is it? We let illegals flood in and watch our population mushroom even more, or we use less fuel? Make your choice now!
