Limbaugh Renews Syndication Deal

Vanity Fair contributing editor Michael Wolff:

“I think it’s a monster error,” Wolff said. “I know – I’m sitting here saying, ‘What are these people smoking?’ You know, the truth is that Rush Limbaugh has been – he’s ridden the rise of conservatism for 25 years and I don’t, maybe nobody quite, quite has been following the news, but that’s coming to an end.”

Wolff based his assessment on the assumption Americans are shifting to the left politically, based on the success of presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama, of Illinois. Wolff’s comments repeated Obama’s theme word “change” at least six times.

“It’s going to be over and Rush Limbaugh in a relatively short period of time is going to look like a really kind of out-of-it kind of oddity,” Wolff said. “And I can not for the life of me imagine how someone could have made this deal.”

It’s going to be over?  Really Michael?  Over?  I doubt that.  I do question what you smoke!

This should not, cannot, MUST NOT be allowed to go through! This is obscene, criminal! All the poor, the suffering in this country and this hate-filled Neocon is going to get almost half a billion dollars? The money should go to New Orleans for Katrina victims!

Contact your Congressional members today! Tell them legislation is urgently needed to stop this! Congress must act! We know Bush won’t, of course. This has to be stopped!

I am at least encouraged to see that someone else here agrees with me. This is a good example of why we need Barack Obama. Not only would he stop this, but he and the Congress would enact laws to prevent it from ever happening again.

We need the Fairness Doctrine now! It will stop these Neocons! Racist sexist homophobes like Limbaugh will be off the air with the fairness doctrine in place! Call, write, demand your Congressional reps now that they pass the fairness doctrine asap!

Hey DA, Which of your liberal actors helped raise over $2,000,000 and donated over 2 million dollars more to a fund for scholarships for the kids of fallen soldiers last year? In one lump sum check. Which of your liberal actors helped raise millions for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society every year for the last 10+ years?

BTW this means that Rush will earn $5,000,000 per year from the deal. That’s roughly 25% of the amount paid to each of the 6 main actors in the series “Friends” for the abreviated 20 week final season. NOW THERE IS A TRAVESTY!!!

Everybody KNOWS the Democrites are all for the poor, the downtrodden, the common people! Never mind the fact that most of the very richest in Congress are Democrites, that they are doing nothing while the lowest rungs of the economic ladder are hurting, the common man barely affording to get to work.

They’re fighting for you! Change! Change we can believe in!

More proof that Liberalism is a form of mental illness. DA if you hate Limbaugh, why don’t you start your own Liberal talk show? Call it something like “Airhead America”.

DA, you are obviously very young and naive. I do NOT agree with you. Conservative speech has every right to be heard in this country as liberal speech. If you don’t believe that simple premise then you are a fascist.

    Get over it.

Interesting point Robert about doing nothing while the bottom rungs of middle class are hurting. There was a moment in my time where Marylands democratic governor imposed taxes and with Clintons excessive taxes (and I don’t mean the welfare reform bill either)hurt this single mother so badly I actually qualified for food stamps and assistance. I opted for working a second job but let’s face it Obamas policies will hurt the bottom third of what is currently our middle class.

Along with gas prices I can see a depression the likes of which we haven’t seen in 70 years.

DA obviously does have the gray matter to start a Liberal talk show. Why? He would then reveal just how HUA he is. Katrina, Katrina, Katrina, a broken record. Funny we don’t hear anything about helping the flood victims out west, the farmers crying!!! Where’s my check, Where’s Bush, Where’s FEMA, and them being put in expensive Hotels, etc. etc, etc.
Give me, Give me, Give me, . . . hey buddie I’ll contact my congresman/woman – but it sure as hell won’t be for the empty reasons you stated, it will be to tell those FU#@!$ to stop wasting our time, money and get to work for a CHANGE! DRILL NOW! :-@:)>-**==

Carolyne, I think it is finally time to say, unequivocally, that we no longer have a representative Government. Congress collectively has turned its back on the people, given us the finger, and absolutely refuses to do what the vast majority of the people are demanding.

Well I should have said (enough) gray matter. . . doesn’t take much to talk liberal, no brainer!!!!:d

You do know why Congress doesn’t really give a damn about gas prices don’t you? Because they get a vehicle of their choice (including a $1000 a month Lexus SUV)leased for them with free fuel and insurance for their use while in Washington all at taxpayer expense. Why are we paying these morons $160K+ leasing them a vehicle and paying the insurance and gas for it? That sounds like a good place to start cutting the budget deficit. That’s at least $5,000,000 a year.

I propose a new amendment to the Constitution requiring that all US Congressmen and Senators pay AND benefits be capped at double the average national salary. At the current national average salary, they’d still be making over $80k so it isn’t chump change for what is supposed to be essentially a part time job. If they want a raise, they have to make good economic decisions that cause the national average wage to rise. Raise taxes, unemployment goes up, wages go down and their pay drops to match. Lower tax rates, encourage new business growth, increase employment, wages rise, they get a pay increase to match. Raising minimum wage will lower their pay as more people will become unemployed or lose hours in the service and retail sectors

    FAO,

Also, their travel priveleges need to be restricted. If they want to keep John Q. Public off the airlines to curb Global Warming, then Pelosi can walk from DC to SF.

PCD, she doesn’t just have a private plane provided by the USAF, she demanded, and got, a plane just slightly smaller than Air Force One. Every other Speaker of the House has had a private jet sized plane, but she said that was too small for her to use because of the distance to California from Washington and needed to be able to take her entourage of a couple dozen people with her. She’s flying coast to coast in a plane almost the size of a 727 at taxpayer expense. How’s THAT for contributing to Global Warming?

FAO, I knew that and that was one reason I demanded she walk. She’s all for the perks for herself, but the average citizen can live like the Unabomber in MT.

In a perfect world, Pelosi would be taken off the floor of the House in a straightjacket and placed in a facility for the mentally ill.

    FAO and Robert,

What she needs is a one-way trip to Zimbabwe.
