Ohio Engineer Claims He Has Built 110 MPG, 400hp Mustang
For those of you in Ohio or adjacent states: Ever heard of this story or this guy?

Doug Pelmear claims he modified his Mustang such that it generates 400 hp while getting 110 MPG.
For so many reasons, I say Bullshit!
As soon as I find where I put my 200-MPG carburetor I’ll install it and challenge Pelmear to a mileage contest.
Seriously, this guy is some whackjob looking for attention imo. Even forgetting about the 400 HP thing, there is no way somehow tinkering in his garage he has figured out a way to do what thousands of very bright engineers, major companies, and billions of $ invested over the last 30 years couldn’t do.
In the auto business, an incremental improvement of one or two percent in mileage is a big deal. But to do 30% in one step? Bullshit!
He won’t open the hood or release any details because it’s all very secret, you know…yeah, right. Perhaps he’s going to patent his improved Flux Capacitor?
The conspiracy crowd might say the entire worldwide automotive industry has conspired with the oil companies to suppress new technology and make us burn more gas. Uh-huh. Anyone who believes that would also believe the Grey’s mother ship is hiding behind Jupiter and ferrying aliens to and from Earth.
This guy’s just another nutball looking for quick flash-in-the-pan notoriety imo. He’ll soon join the Cold Fusion crowd (he’ll fade away and you’ll never hear about him again).

As the resident Ford Fanatic on the board, I’ll have to say that I have to agree with you.
Although the guy picked the most plausible Mudstain to do this with, I have many questions that aren’t even asked by this article.
