Krugman is like Robert Scheer, eminently forgettable and always wrong.

Seems like both Freddie and Fannie were asleep at the regulator’s wheel. And yes, I read where the de-regulation occured under Clinton. I’m quite certain that Bush beemed voodoo vibes from Texas and caused it, just not sure how.
I also think I’ve had too much caffeine.

Freddie was a major player in this mess. FHLMC actually advised lenders to market to illegal aliens as they were “an underserved sector of the market.” Exactly how risky is it to provide a mortgage to someone who can’t work here legally with little or no money down? As soon as Arizona passed the employer sanction law that would strip employers who knowingly hired illegals of their business licenses, he packed up his wife and five kids and headed right back to Mexico. His house was foreclosed on, it has been vandalized, and my property value has dropped significantly as a result.

The illegal alien I spoke of was my next door neighbor.
