Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Amen! Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are planning lavish parties at both National Conventions this summer.  It would behoove them to cancel such nonsense!

A Fannie Mae spokeswoman told us late Thursday afternoon that since it was “after five” she wouldn’t be able to provide comment on whether the mortgage lender will still throw its receptions at the conventions. We hope to get a response today — before cocktail hour begins, of course.

Promote themselves as the champions of the poor, the downtrodden, the disenfranchised, and the common people! Point the finger and shreik about the “Republican culture of corruption!”.

And all the while these arch-hypocrites are the richest, most corrupt vermin of all. The big investors and money manipulators know they can count on the Democrites to bail them out with taxpayer money when needed.

There is a reason why the mortgage situation is what it is. Fannie and Freddie were making it TOO easy to become a home owner. With local grant programs, I was able to buy my house with only 1 1/2% down and 0 closing costs.
