In response to the current oil and energy crisis, we were told by Democrite Leadership that “…we can’t drill our way out of this!”. Even though oil is a commodity, increasing supply to balance demand would not bring prices down according to experts at the Democrap Ministry of Economics. We were told to just suck it up and wait for alternative energy sources that do not exist or are not practical.
Meanwhile, the Democraps would go after the oil companies, they would regulate the speculators out of existence, and otherwise do nothing at all that would produce one more gallon of fuel.
Now Pelosi, in an unceasing effort to somehow make this whole crisis look like the Republicans caused it, plus attack Bush, is calling on Bush to release 70 million barrels from the Strategic Reserve. In addition to this being a bad idea because the reason we have a Reserve is for emergencies, 70 million barrels is about a one-week supply for the U.S., it is insignificant on the world oil stage. Then what?
So it’s a bad and stupid idea, but the real news here is she is admitting that increasing supply of a commodity tends to lower prices. So the fool is admitting that she and other Democraps were wrong when they said we can’t drill our way out of this (increasing supply will not do anything to lower prices).
Once again, the Democraps were wrong, they are lying, they are manipulating, and they don’t give a damn about the people they are supposed to represent or about America. They are showing again what contemptible, disgraceful vermin they have become.
And to think…there are actually people who will vote for them…

UPDATE (Pam): House Republicans Block Measure To Release Oil From SPR
House Republicans blocked a measure on Thursday that would have released roughly 70 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The straight party-line vote of 268-157 failed to muster the two-thirds majority needed to pass under House procedures to limit amendments to the measure.
Democrats had sought the release – equivalent to 10 percent of the SPR – in an effort to drive down oil and gasoline prices. Republicans opposed the move, with some ridiculing the measure as a “gimmick.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., speaking at a press conference before the vote, pointed out that previous releases from the oil reserve had knocked down prices, sometimes significantly: 33 percent in 1991(Gulf War), 19 percent in 2000 and nine percent in 2005.
“Congressional action forcing the President to stop filling the reserve has already helped to reduce oil prices. If President Bush will not act to help consumers by releasing oil to cut the price at the pump, the New Direction Congress will,” Pelosi said.
She added, “The President is sitting on 700 million barrels of oil. We’re saying, ‘Mr. President, free our oil.’ It’s our oil. It belongs to American taxpayers.”
Democrats fail to win two-thirds on oil vote
Pelosi denied that Democrats are relying on the suspension calendar to avoid a vote on opening up now-closed areas in the Gulf of Mexico and possibly Alaska to drilling.
“What the president would like to do is have a validation for his failed policy. And that’s not something that will come easily to him,” Pelosi said. “If he wants to do that, he can do it on his time.”
Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio) again ripped into the approach Pelosi has taken to bringing up energy bills in the House.
“I’m tired of this and the American people are tired of this ” they want a real vote. And they want more American-made energy and they want Congress to do something about it,” Boehner said. “Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama are scared to death we will have a real vote. We have eight days before August recess; we want a vote on the floor before we leave.”

Thank you for putting into words what I was seething about this afternoon! That supply is there for emergency. As much as I hate the high prices, I would rather pay them and know that we have a backup plan in case the supply is severely limited by a disruption.
To your point, she is admitting that as the supply increases, the price drops!
This Pelosi is the wicked witch of the West, East, South, North – she must ride her BROOM into work everyday not paying for gas. If she farted, there would be enough gas reserve to last a million years! IMO there is no one worse than Pelosi that has ever been elected. Is Pelosi’s Grandfather Hitler? Hitler must be Obama’s Great Uncle after today’s speech in Berlin. Wait, that makes Pelosi and Obama kissing kin. Shew! Nasty! :-w

What utter nonsense! This mentally ill buffoon thinks that somehow stopping shipments into the SPR caused world oil prices to drop? I am too lazy right now to research it, but it would be interesting to know what percentage of world oil usage was represented by shipments to SPR each month. Could it maybe have been as much as a tenth of a percent? Probably not even that much.
Nancy Pelosi, you are mentally ill. And it would be very funny and a huge joke if you were not in a leadership position in Congress. As such it is pathetic and sad for America.
Ahem, I believe I’ve said this before, but I think it bears repeating:
IMPEACH PELOSI!!
DRILL ANWR!!!
