Barack Obama‘s Florida campaign chairman, Robert Wexler, is trying to defend himself against accusations that he is playing a residency shell game by using his in-laws’ address in Delray Beach while living in a Maryland suburb. Is this residential fraud? You or I have a relative in FL so can we claim their address and no longer pay our state’s income tax. We would love to have that savings, but the IRS would prosecute us:
A national TV news program reported, and records show, that the popular six-term Democrat owns a home in upscale Rockville, Md., where he and his wife spend most of the year, pay property taxes, and where his children attend private school.
But Wexler officially identifies his residence as the south Palm Beach County home of Lawrence and Roslyn Cohen, his wife’s parents. It’s where the Wexlers register two vehicles and maintain voting and driver’s license addresses, and where Wexler says he stays overnight during visits to the district on congressional breaks and other occasions.
Election laws require members of Congress to reside in the state they represent. Wexler says he meets that requirement by officially designating his in-laws’ house as his residence.
The Cohen home is in the gated, seniors-only Huntington Walk subdivision of Delray Beach in Wexler’s 19th Congressional District, a Democrat-rich district that encompasses most of south Palm Beach County and parts of north Broward County.
So faced with this, look at the excuse given:
Wexler said news coverage of his residency now amounts to a political witch hunt, and he blames it on a feud he’s having with O’Reilly.
O’Reilly is “angry with me for sending an e-mail to my supporters” that accused Fox News and O’Reilly of offensive and racially disparaging coverage of Obama, Wexler said.
During his first year in Congress, Wexler attempted to commute between South Florida and Washington. “It quickly became apparent that I would miss out on the bulk of my children’s lives,” he said, explaining the decision to sell a property they owned in South Florida and move to Maryland.
It is all Bill O’Reilly’s fault for bringing it to our attention, Wexler takes no responsibility for his abuse of th law. And as a side note, I guess Wexler isn’t aware that Obama’s wife and children live in Chicago and he commutes home every few weeks to see them.

The old redidency shell gamd its normal just like Obama who has no right to be here and has no right to be running for president, so Wexler is some how Different? many inside our so called government are in fact people who came here just to get into government for the money and power and many will do anything to get that political power over you for the ideals of that person’s own country and in fact care nothing about laws or duty or freedom or ideals of justice and you let this happen to your home country. so have fun in the coming hell you have coming.
Yea, blame it on O’Reilly for moving to Maryland. What a loser. But for the record to those that don’t live in the area, I saw the piece O’Reilly did with his house in the background. While it’s a nice enough house it is a shack in comparison to the homes around it. He lives in one of the shabbier neighborhoods.
