Well, I am still against the death penalty…

But handing these morons over to the families of the victims on the date of their crime for some serious torture every year of their life sentence would be pretty nice.

The morons should also be in solitary with absolutely noting but a concrete floor and a steel door, kind of reminding them of the coffin and life-changing torture they put their victims and families through.

Progressives have evolved way beyond the primitive concept of State-sponsored murder for revenge. In a similar way as we have evolved politically, we are far more intellectual and sophisticated than the cro magnons screaming for blood out of their own fear in confronting something they don’t understand.
Progressives know that violence only begets more violence. It is proven every time. Look at the terrorism issue, for example. Attacks on American interests in the 1990s were in the noise level. Manageable, low-level threats that were handled by Clinton in stride. Bush came in attacked, and the violence all over the world escalated sharply. See? See??? My point proven.

The Medieval French had a means of dealing with POSs like this. It was called an oubliette. It was a cell the size of a coffin built into the floor of the dungeon. Put them in, feed them once a week, and they can live for years in their own feces and urine. Perhaps we could put in a high pressure hose and a drain. Simply turn on the water once a week to clean the prisoner and the cell at the same time.

I’ve always felt that those people who are adamently opposed to the death penalty should spend a few weeks as an observer in a guard shack at a maximum security prison. Watch how the animals act towards each other.

As for this guy, I think branding “Child Molester” across his forehead and dropping him into general population at a maximum security prison should be enough. He’ll end up as someone’s bunk buddy or dead ala Jeffrey Dahmer.

I know and respect all the moral and intellectual arguments against capital punishment. They are valid and make perfect sense. However, some primitive part of my mind still says that there can be no other punishment for people like Duncan besides death. He simply does not deserve to experience any pleasant sensation, however basic, of being alive. He does not deserve to enjoy a meal or read a book or watch TV. Dylan will never do any of those things ever again. This man ended the lives of at least two children and and two adults that we know of…and he is suspected of more. Those he left alive will certainly never be the same again. Duncan is fit only for death. The justice of this world should be handed to him swiftly, so he can face the justice of the next as soon as possible.
