On The MSM:You know what? They’re pretending that the first three days of this week didn’t happen. It did, and it was pathetic. And that’s why that line worked last night, because the media acted in an abhorrent fashion.

What prompted it?  Brian Williams’ post-Palin speech analysis

BRIAN WILLIAMS: Two points I’d like to make, Keith.  Number one, Ann Curry’s interview on the floor with the women delegates tonight. One of them said of Governor Palin “she has lived the dream, the American dream, in every aspect.” That was what was attractive about her story to this delegate. Guess who else you can say that about? And yet we’re looking at parallel universes here: an “us versus them.” She’s one of us, he’s one of them kind of argument.

I guess in Williams world, the delegate is a racist!  Let’s see what else he says:

WILLIAMS [seen in the screencap waving Klein's comments]: Secondly, about the attacks on the media tonight, Joe Klein’s on the board, his blog for Time magazine, and I’ll quote briefly: “I hope my colleagues,” meaning his colleagues in the news media, “stand strong in this case. It’s important for the public to know Palin raised taxes as governor, supported the bridge to nowhere before she opposed it, pursued pork-barrel projects as mayor, banned books at the local library, and thinks the war in Iraq is, quote, a task from God. The attempts by the McCain campaign to bully us into not reporting such things are not only stupidly aggressive, but unprofessional in the extreme.” Just another Wednesday night in Minnesota.

Does Williams really want to support that statement? Those items are the kos talking points that have been debunked.  I guess NBC doesn’t have an actual journalist on staff that is capable of investigating.

CNN Runs Graphic on McCain’s History of Cancer After Palin Speech

And if that’s not bad enough, they alsohad this McCain ‘Officially Wins Democratic Nomination’

Compare and contrast to the glowing coverage just last week when Obama went on the attack in his speech:

TV Journalists Relieved Obama ‘Masterpiece’ Took on McCain

ABC’s Charles Gibson insisted that “four years ago John Kerry” was “held accountable for not being tough enough on George Bush,” and “Obama was obviously not going to make that mistake.”

On CNN, Gloria Borger decided: “If anybody ever thought that Barack Obama was not tough enough to run against John McCain, this speech should really put an end to that.”

Over at NBC, that network’s political director, Chuck Todd, asserted:

Obama was basically sending a message to Democrats: I’m not going to be Michael Dukakis, I’m not going to be Al Gore, I’m not going to be John Kerry, I’m going to fight John McCain, I’m going to take him on. It was almost, it was almost him saying come on John McCain, let’s drop the gloves.

CBS’s Dean Reynolds concluded that Obama demonstrated “the will” to take on McCain in “perhaps the most pugnacious speech I’ve ever heard him give.” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos hailed how “Obama really made an audacious choice tonight” to prove he is “tough enough to be commander in chief” by “going right on the attack against John McCain.” Later presenting Nightline’s “Report Card,” on delivering “Red Meat” he awarded Obama an A.

Roger Simon makes an ass out of himself and proves the point Palin was making: Why the media should apologize

“  ST. PAUL, Minn. ” On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.  “  On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.  “  We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.  “  We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin?

good reactions to that can be found at:The Swamp, Media Blog, Macsmind, Ace of Spades HQ, Associated Press, The Strata-Sphere and Barack Oblogger

Rasmussen Poll: 51% say media is trying to hurt Palin, not provide unbiased coverage

That’s Precisely Obama’s Problem “  Via Instapundit to Tom Maguire – if one takes into account executive leadership, as opposed to deliberative justice, especially the political sort, this sums up Obama’s greatest weakness, not a strength
