Oprah Winfrey may have introduced Democrat Barack Obama to the women of America -- but the talkshow queen is not rushing to embrace the first woman on a Republican presidential ticket!
Oprah's staff is sharply divided on the merits of booking Sarah Palin, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
"Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on," an insider explains. "Oprah's website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."
One executive close to Winfrey is warning any Palin ban could ignite a dramatic backlash!
It is not clear if Oprah has softened her position after watching Palin's historic convention speech.
Last year, Winfrey blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, timed to a promotional tour of his autobiography.
Oprah and executive producer Sheri Salata, who has contributed thousands of dollars to Obama's campaign, refused requests for comment.

I will add Oprah drinks kool aid with Obama, plus eats too many waffles.

I’m surprised that you posted a fact about Oprah’s guests, but did not comment on the obvious bigotry being spewed by two posters. I would have thought that you espouse respectful debate. Is such bigotry endorsed by this blog? Is it rampant in the conservative world, and such a matter of fact thing that no one on the right recognizes it?

I wanted to let you in on a little secret. When you post comments at RV, Lisa, Robert and myself, all have access to the IP address that you are using. It matches the same one you used last spring when you were pro Obama and we were all a bunch of racists because we dared question Obamas policies. I’ve watched as you have tried every tired cliche of a racist comment that Republicans get accused of saying, and I really can’t help but pity you.
Don’t ever think you are more intelligent than someone like Ellis. He may agree with much of what we post, but he has the courage and conviction to state his positions and not run away when he is not agreed with. Maybe when you grow up, you will understand that. And thanks for saying I have “courage and conviction” … mutual respect can help us solve many of the myriad problems we’re faced with. Isn’t that concept resonant in McCain’s and Obama’s approach – i.e., reaching across the aisle?
Four years ago, I posted a lot here in heat and anger. I was met with he same. While I disagree with most of your bottom lines (as you do with mine), I pledge to be respectful. I’ll be direct and call them as I see them, but hopefully always with respect for opposing opinions.

There is one thing Oprah might want to consider. What happens if/when McCain/Palin win? As the first woman VP elect, she will almost certainly want Palin for the show then. At that point in time, Palin, the pitbull in lipstick,(I love that description) will be able to return the favor. Whichever way Oprah chooses to play it.
everyone knows that oprah is for obama. having palin on the show will not change oprah’s support or vote for obama. but i think if oprah is to be true to her calling as someone who celebrates life and women power, i think it would be wrong to not bring palin to the show… and in the end, oprah as an individual does not vote for the us president and vice president alone… it is the american public.
