The Moderator For Thursdays Debate Has A Book Coming Out About Barack Obama..But I am Sure She Will Be Fair..Right?

By: Pam On: Oct/1/08 -

Hope and Change?  Fair and Balanced? Nope, just more of the same!

My first syndicated column of the week, filed this afternoon, shines light on PBS anchor Gwen Ifill, who will moderate Thursday’s only vice presidential debate. Try as she might to deflect questions about her impartiality, her biases ” and her conflict of interest ” are clear. But don’t you dare breathe a word about any of this. You know what will happen if you do:

RACIST!

Sidenote: TVNewser reports that Ifill has broken her ankle, but she’s still going to do the debate. But will she disclose her conflict of interest? Inquiring minds want to know.

Ask the Commission on Presidential Debates if she will acknowledge her conflict of interest: 202-872-1020.

And here’s the e-mail address of Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission: jb@debates.org

Hopefully, their email system works better than the House.

Tons of readers recommend that Sarah Palin open her debate remarks by congratulating Ifill on her book and asking her to tell everyone the title.  Keep Reading…..

As Instapundit’s newsroom correspondent put it: “The fix is in, and it’s working.”

Bob Unruh adds:

Ifill declined to return a WND telephone message asking for a comment about her book project and whether its success would be expected should Obama lose. But she has faced criticism previously for not treating candidates of both major parties the same.

During a vice-presidential candidate debate she moderated in 2004 – when Democrat John Edwards attacked Republican Dick Cheney’s former employer, Halliburton – the vice president said, “I can respond, Gwen, but it’s going to take more than 30 seconds.”

“Well, that’s all you’ve got,” she told Cheney.

Ifill told the Associated Press Democrats were delighted with her answer, because they “thought I was being snippy to Cheney.” She explained that wasn’t her intent.

Like Obama, Ifill, who is black, is quick to play the race card at the first sign of criticism. In an interview with the Washington Post a few weeks ago, she carped: “[N]o one’s ever assumed a white reporter can’t cover a white candidate.”

Ed:

Perhaps the Commission on Presidential Debates doesn’t understand the term “moderator”.  According to Websters Dictionary, the word refers to a mediator, someone unaffiliated or neutral between two or more positions to facilitate discussion and negotiation.  Jim Lehrer moderated the first presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain, and did a fine job, mostly because he gave the appearance of fairness and objectivity.  Lehrer hasn’t written books or magazine articles praising one of these men, nor does he have a financial interest in the outcome of the election.

This is an outrage. While most media are left biased it would be hard to choose someone who would be fair to begin with but this lady stands to PROFTT off a book about the messiah if she can only guide the debate towards the dems.

There should be protests from the republicans on this and I hope they do.

I have been down on Gwen Ifill since before the 94 election when she said, “WE won’t lose both the House and the Senate!” UM, when did the Press run the House and the Senate? Maybe the Truth is that Ifill is a Liberal Democrat, period.

You see, BonBon, conflict of interest is only corruption when it is a Republican involved. Otherwise, it’s a non -issue.

    The DemokRat kulture of korruption is staggering; but that’s okay! 8-}

Hi Robert and PCD…there are way too many people in this country who are star struck and view him as another celebrity and the dems in general as being saviors. The give me attitude the left likes to cater to. The really sad part about all this is that eventually when the government controls all our money, corporations and in fact our very livelyhoods it will be too late.

Conservatives need to rise up with louder voices to counter this corruption. And look even Sarah Palin was bi partisan when cleaning house. That issue alone should give McCain the edge.

Democrite definition of bipartisan: They get their way, or at least they take all the credit.

You are right about start struck. And did you see that creepy, Orwellian video of those children singing the Obama hope and change song? I was thinking of the Hitler youth, or a bunch of Chinese singing to Honorable chairman Mao. It was scary…

Oh yeah, I saw the video. Those poor kids. Somebody on Fox called it “indoctrination.” I believe if he gets elected that is what the dems will try to enable; a nation of one party, socialism and perhaps even a one person dictator. And why not Obama man? He’s young, black, muslim, christian, liberal, socialist, etc. etc.
