"As his programs and spending increase, the situation will get worse not better. His programs could send this country into another great depression and collapse the world economy in the process. Democratic party policies that forced banks to lend money to people who couldn't repay it lead to the current economic situation."

You think McCain won't do the same? I've noticed that the people supporting McCain... are outside of the age bracket for a draft. While it's understandable that there *may* not be a draft if McCain is in office, the war in Iraq will certainly continue. Would you rather deprive this country's economy trying to help another country? Or would you much rather try to set this economy back on its feet again so that we have a better capacity to help? A war is not what our economy needs right now, and I'm fairly confident that we will hit a depression with or without Obama.

Another discrepancy people make about the presidency: Peoples' desire for the president to change the economy and the president's de facto/de jure power over the economy is a paradox! The president has very little control over the economy; it's the Federal Reserve you should be concerned with for the economy.

Zelda, it's not whether it will swing back to the Republicans, it's whether there will be anything left to swing back. Obama's policies are the same as Jimma Carta's only with MUCH higher price tags. Socialism is a FAILURE and Marxism is even more so. Obama could lead this country into a revolution, NOT a civil war, a REVOLUTION. 80 million gun owners are NOT going to stand by and allow his anti gun policies to go into effect. When unemployment hits 10% because businesses are closing or moving to other countries because of the corporate tax rate increases (WE Have the second highest rate in the world already), and prices skyrocket as companies that do stay in business cut payroll and raise prices to offset the new higher taxes, people will become desperate. As fuel prices rise again because of a lack of domestic production (the dems are plannign on reinstating the drilling ban as soon as possible after the election) more and more farmers will become unable to plant and harvest their fields resulting in food shortages as well as prices skyrocketing. This isn't conjecture, it's simply an extension of what has happened in the past when programs smaller than his were implemented, combined with the increased size of the population and the radicalization of it. As his programs and spending increase, the situation will get worse not better. His programs could send this country into another great depression and collapse the world economy in the process. Democratic party policies that forced banks to lend money to people who couldn't repay it lead to the current economic situation.

The poll doesn't really matter. Senator Obama is going to win this.... and he'll win big.

But Republicans... don't despair... it's like a pendulum. Things will swing back your way in a couple years. :)

Hey Carlos, you have less respect for a woman who has been Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard than a man who has spent the last decade plus cavorting with and donating (other people's) money to an unrepentent domestic terrorist who escaped prosecution on a legal technicality and a black separatist preacher? You seriously need to rethink your priorities. BTW McCain was NOT my first choice. Romney was. Unfortunately some early states allowed dems and indies to vote in Republican primaries and they were winner take all states. Otherwise, McCain might not have been nominee.

For that matter who do you have more respect for, the woman who's son is an active duty combat soldier in a frontline unit, or the man who's son is a National Guard JAG REMF in the Green Zone? It reminds me of the story about making a bacon and eggs breakfast. The hen may be involved but the pig is committed to the breakfast. Obama has already said he intends to gut the military and use the money to build himself a national homeland defense force the size of the military. Exactly where in the Constitution does it give him that authority? It doesn't. For those who have observed that Obama's style has a distinct resemblance to Hitler, they should recognize this as the beginning of an SS type organization. Hitler was a big fan of gun control too. At the Gun Rights Policy Conference that I attended recently, there was a LOT of discussion about Obama's saying he supports the 2nd amendment while doing everything he can to destroy it.

:-? Wow.....that is pretty ....ummmm....sexist? I was a military spouse for 13 years and I am all about supporting the POW Vet. But more than that I this his choice for VP only increased my respect. I might be more respective of your opinion if, first of all, you knew how to spell respect. /:)
