Biden: You Can Expect A Terrorist Attack If Obama Is Elected And You Can Also Expect Obama To Screw It Up

Gaffe (n): The accidental act of a politician telling the truth…Joe Biden is taking the time to remind you of how dangerous it will be to elect Barack Obama:

“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

So he is just asking for their patience now for troops that will be deployed because Obama is going to screw up?

Confederate Yankee:

Good grief.

Has any Vice President in U.S. electoral history ever made it more clear that his running mate is completely unfit for the office that he seeks?

And if Biden dosn’t have faith in Obama, why should the rest of us?

Ed:

Let’s not forget the example that Biden himself uses here.  John Kennedy got tested because he met with Nikita Khrushchev with “no preconditions”.  Kennedy acknowledged afterwards that it was an “unmitigated disaster“:

Kennedy’s aides convinced the press at the time that behind closed doors the president was performing well, but American diplomats in attendance, including the ambassador to the Soviet Union, later said they were shocked that Kennedy had taken so much abuse. Paul Nitze, the assistant secretary of defense, said the meeting was “just a disaster.” Khrushchev’s aide, after the first day, said the American president seemed “very inexperienced, even immature.” Khrushchev agreed, noting that the youthful Kennedy was “too intelligent and too weak.” The Soviet leader left Vienna elated ” and with a very low opinion of the leader of the free world.

Kennedy’s assessment of his own performance was no less severe. Only a few minutes after parting with Khrushchev, Kennedy, a World War II veteran, told James Reston of The New York Times that the summit meeting had been the “roughest thing in my life.” Kennedy went on: “He just beat the hell out of me. I’ve got a terrible problem if he thinks I’m inexperienced and have no guts. Until we remove those ideas we won’t get anywhere with him.”

What resulted?  The Berlin Wall and the Cuban missile crisis.  Kennedy wound up trading strategic intel and missile installations in western Asia in exchange for Soviet withdrawal of the nuclear missiles from Cuba.  The entire Kennedy administration turned out to be a foreign-policy disaster that was only overlooked because of the tragic assassination of Kennedy in Dallas in 1963.

I agree with Biden.  Obama is exactly like Kennedy in this regard, and our enemies will test us by threatening our interests around the globe if we elect Obama.  I’d rather avoid the problem altogether and elect a man who puts enough fear into the minds of our enemies to keep them from testing us at all.

MM:

Keep talkin’, Joe.

God bless ya for telling the truth about your running mate’s dangerous inexperience.

  4. Holy crap. I realize it’s the job of a VP nominee to be an attack dog, but I’m pretty sure they’re not supposed to attack their own guy.

You can just see the McCain/GOP ad resulting from this.

Man, this is the gaffe to end all gaffes… at least until Biden opens his mouth again.

As everyone is busy worrying about the economy and the upcoming election, there has been another fatwa threatening Europe, journalists, tourists, and anyone else who dares enter the Arabian Peninsula who is not an Islamist. Haven’t you heard this…

PS. Hi. How are doing today? Leave it Joe to run his mouth. I guess that’s one thing we could always count on. Too bad Barack wasn’t in the Senate long enough to figure that out for himself. lol.

  17. Joe Biden says the election of Obama may lead to a new conflict, terrorist attack, or a third war. A careful analysis of history says he may be correct.

  29. I guess I don’t follow your argument. Biden said that some foreign power is going to attempt to create a crisis. Biden never said that Obama is going to screw it up, he merely stated that a conflict will be dropped into his lap.
