UCLA Economists: FDR’s New Deal Policies Prolonged The Great Depression By 7 Years

  1. Thank you for the post.

I had never heard that President Roosevelt had done anything that extreme before. I’ll look into it more.

Fortunately Senator Obama is much better informed today than President Roosevelt was back then. Despite all your fear I think Senator Obama will handle this better than President Roosevelt did.

  2. How exactly is Obama much better informed? In 2005 he sent a letter rather than cast a vote. In 2008 he is promising tax increases. Capital gains tax increases too. What is to stop an investor from pulling out now at 15% rather than pay minimum 20%?

How exactly is Obama more informed?

  3. He absolutely is!!!:o He’ll manage things properly, for ALL 57 states! =))

Seriously, thanks for posting this. I saw something about this recently, I think it was on the history channel. IMO FDR is one of the most overrated Presidents ever. Not only did he not end the Depression he was played for a complete fool by Stalin and by giving Stalin whatever he wanted at Yalta, made the rise of the Soviet Union post WWII a certainty. He also tried to become the first U.S. King by taking over the SCOTUS.
