Sarkozy: Obama stance on Iran is “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

In other words, Sarkozy sees Obama in just the same light we do and there is no rose tint to it:

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel’s government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

Obama visited Paris in July, and the Iranian issue was at the heart of his meeting with Sarkozy. At a joint press conference afterward, Obama urged Iran to accept the West’s proposal on its nuclear program, saying that Iran was creating a serious situation that endangered both Israel and the West.  According to the reports reaching Israel, Sarkozy told Obama at that meeting that if the new American president elected in November changed his country’s policy toward Iran, that would be “very problematic.”

Ed:

In fact, Sarkozy believes that Obama would wind up being more unilateral than George Bush in his foreign policy.  When a French politician uses the word “arrogant” as an accusation, that means something.  Apparently, their brief meeting during the Obama World Tour did not set Sarkozy’s mind at ease.  He saw something that makes him extremely uneasy with Obama in charge of American diplomacy.

Formulations empty of all content.  Sounds familiar, no?  It has the ring of Hope and Change.

  2. Wait…Right Voices is now getting its political advice from the French!?!? Folks, we’ve officially gone down the rabbit hole…

  3. Political advice? No, just sharing with you what the French think of the One…How arrogant must the One be for a Frenchman to call you arrogant. Sarkozy and others(just not Obama) are smart enough to realize that with oil prices tumbling, the economic sanctions we have in place will put added pressure on the Mullahs.

  4. Still…the French!? A year or two ago, if a poster on this site described Europe (or, a forteriori, the French) as any sort of an authority on anything (global warming, the war in Iraq, health care, etc., etc.) they would have been attacked from all sides. Now, with McCain trailing in the polls, you turn to … the French?

Your earlier question: “What’s more ironic than a guy who allegedly conspired to kill cops calling for police back-up to shoo away a reporter?”

Well, I guess that we have our answer.

    :) >-

  5. Of course a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel. For TWENTY YEARS Obama supported Jeremiah Wright, who gave a life time achievement award to Jew Hater Louis Farrakhan … Obama’s affiliations are riddled with Pro Palestinian – Anti Israel supporters. Obama will say, or do anything to get elected … but, once elected, he’ll throw Israel under the bus in a heartbeat, just like he threw his friend of 20 years under the bus, for personal ambition and political expediency.

  6. BTW, you noticed that Sarkozy never actually said anything like “immature” or “empty of all content,” right. An “unnamed source” reported that he felt this way and Sarko’s camp has already denied it.

  8. Wow AKD you’re reaching here!! All the dems want to do is hide the real adgenda that Obama is proposing. How can people be so stupid?! Or maybe it is just ignorance??

  9. The right is turning to the French in the hopes of drumming up support for their guy and I’m reaching, huh? =))

I’ve said before that I don’t mind if McCain gets in — he’s certainly the furthest to the left of any candidate that the republican party has run in my lifetime. Again, I voted for him in the primaries. He’s going to open the borders, criminalize torture, etc., etc.

    Amnesty! Amnesty! Amnesty!

  10. We were told years ago by the Democrites and the MSM the French were the wise arbiters of what the U.S. is and should be doing. Now you’re saying they are not?
