During the debate, Obama said his mother spent her last few days on earth fighting with her insurance companies. Why? Her son could have made phone calls to the insurance companies on her behalf (this could have been done over the phone). It looks like he didn’t take care of his own mother either. Anyway, Hawaii has a state run, universal health care system so she should have been covered for everything. She died in 1993 and the HI universal health care was in place since the 70′s.

We don’t know the nature of what all that was about, especially if HI had universal health care. Maybe it was only partial coverage, and perhaps she was seeking additional or experimental treatment. We can only speculate. And on the topic of why Barak doesn’t help his family in Kenya, his father deserted his mother when Barak was what, two? He may or may not have even had much contact with his father’s side of the family in his life. There is not one single reason I can think of why Barak should have taken his father’s side of the family (and it may include dozens of needy people) under his financial stewardship, to deliver them to a better place. He’s not Ghandi or Mother Theresa. This, also, is not to assume that Barak never did assist any of them. Maybe he has, over the years, as he was able. Again, this is all speculation, not fact. Americans jump to conclusions based on the tiniest pieces of information, because we are too lazy to find out what we should take responsibility to find out if we are going to slam someone. We do damage without cause.

How do we know, should be right along with, how do we not know? As some make assumptions that a person must not be doing something, others make the opposite assumption. They must be doing something. The difference is one is a question the other is a belief. Or, another way to put it, it is a justification in order to believe the person (which you are drawn to) must be doing something. The better answer is to not trust either wihout investigating both. Some may call this not seeing the forest for the trees.

Lynn there is a lot of wisdom in what you posted. mcCain is an open book. A known quantity. Far from ideal, imo. Obama is an unknown. But the deeper you look at his background, his record of actions, and his associations, it does not paint a good picture. He is young, charismatic, and says what people want to hear. But from what I have seen I just do not trust him. The investigation reveals a serious lack of character.

I’m confused by everyone on here. First: is Obama a Socialist? Today McSame said Obama was not, so if you believe in McSame, then you are wrong for saying he is, and owe Obama an apolpgy. Should you not believe in McSame (umm..and you are voting for him?), then you MUST believe that libraries, police and fire services, and public education, to name a few, will be eliminated in their current format under a McSame dictatorship. Manipulation of the Voter
Obama’s attitude towards providing legal verifiable documentation to support his candidacy tells me he is hiding something. This makes me leery of how far he will go to cover up any discrepancies. At this late date I would find it hard for me to accept anything he provides.
When a party has the need to purchase such an exorbitant amount of TV and radio time through the media who provide one-sided journalism for the direct purpose of influencing and swaying the American population over to their side, I call it brainwashing, and the tactic of terrorists and a deliberate means of buying the public’s vote. I only hope that the voters will exercise their freedom to vote without coercion, in any form. When the issue of discrimination is injected, especially ‘racism’, to anger the voter and solicit an immediate and un-informed position, I consider that descriptively taking advantage and trying to manipulate the voter.
The purpose of campaign contributions is to promote a candidate’s campaign not their lifestyle or greedy habits.
The largest portion of all campaign money is contributed by corporate America, and must be recouped by some means otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing the magnitude of contributions that has resulted during this campaign. Is there no doubt the wealthy donors will be expecting to secure support for their political and social interests in return for these hefty contributions. The ones affected the most will not be the candidate but the American people. Our greatest concern should be, whether we are willing to continue being indentured servants to the cause in the selection of the new political candidates and in payment for these favors through higher consumer prices to offset the amount of contributions provided. This year the campaign costs will exceed over $5 billion. I call this extremely excessive and definitely will affect our economy by increased consumer prices, but the collection process goes on. Obama, who is supposed to be a pro understanding our economic problems has gone in the opposite direction. No one has to believe me. However, anyone interested in seeing for themselves the type of contributions collected and from what corporate groups need only to look in the congressional record for the financial history on each candidate and the monies they have so far collected.
Discrimination in any form – race, gender, age, or education or lack thereof should be below our standards!
Unless you do the research yourselves, will you really become educated about each of the candidates. If you choose to take the easy way out and base your decisions on which is the best candidate according to the propaganda you are not only doing an injustice to your country but yourselves as well. This type of approach is reflective of that used by terrorists to confuse people and under mind a country. Jumping on the bandwagon before you know all the facts makes you just as bad as the people you say you will not support.
