John McCain What we’re fighting for
Final Mason-Dixon battleground numbers: dead heat
Via Gateway Pundit:
Here are the final numbers from the Politico state polling:
The final round of Mason-Dixon polls has Obama enjoying small leads in the red states that would deliver him the presidency, but he’s below 50 percent in each and there are enough white undecided voters to leave some too close to call.Colorado: Obama 49, McCain 44, Undecided 4
Florida: Obama 47, McCain 45, Undecided 7
Nevada: Obama 47, McCain 43, Undecided 8
Pennsylvania: 47, McCain 43, Undecided 9
Virginia: Obama 47, McCain 44, Undecided 9
Ohio: McCain 47, Obama 45, Undecided 6
Missouri: McCain 47, Obama 46, Undecided 5
North Carolina: McCain 49, Obama 46, Undecided 5As Brad Coker, who runs the Mason-Dixon poll, notes, the vast majority of the undecided voters in these states are whites.Love that last line– No kidding!
Do not allow the Marxisant Radical into the White House.
Don’t allow the Obamedia to influence you.
GET OUT AND VOTE!
Dr Sanity posted A PINCH OF REALITY, found within the pages of the UK Guardian:
You have to pinch yourself – a Marxisant radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it’s considered impolite to say so.

Pam,
Let’s hear your qualifications for making that call. There’s a lot of difference between fraud and legally taking advantage of lower middle class people who would like to have what you have. There a many people to blame for the mortgage crisis, most of them are very well off. Very little, if any, blame stands with those who were given sub-prime mortgages.

Pam,
As a banking insider from ‘05 thru ‘07 I can tell you what I witnessed.
A majority of sub-prime loans were taken out by folks who had no idea what their qualifications needed to be. They were told what to state on stated-income loans by unscrupulous mortgage brokers who were charging 3-5 points on the front and another 2-3 points on the back (when sold to investors). I had many come to me “shopping” for a better deal and it was common to see this. Many, probably most, had no understanding of anything beyond the fact that they might get to own their own home. You can blame them if you want but the blame for the mortgage crisis goes directly to independent mortgage companies, mortgage brokers, investment firms and real estate brokers/agents.

Even McCain is disgusted by the threatening, racist notions of some of his supporters (The Race & Pam are great examples). Both in their own way too numb with bias to see that getting pissed and striking out proves you to be nothing but raging red diseased, infected foreskins – and your bigoted, antiquated ignorance is largely responsible for the loss you WILL EXPERIENCE TODAY. go psychos!
November 30, 1999 - 12:00 AM on November 30th, 1999
Oh look, we still have a “Racism” bot posting! I guess the order to play the race card is still in effect for the Obamabots…this bot is a definitely lower echelon one, babbling about foreskins.
November 30, 1999 - 12:00 AM on November 30th, 1999
Of course Robert. It’s okay to be a racist if you are a democrap or a person of color. Didn’t you know that? silly you.

You know, I have got to say that the most hate filled divisive rhetoric I have ever heard has been from Obama Supporters. Don’t belive me consider the following FACTS:
Did McCain supporters threaten race riots if he loses? No, that was Obama Supporters notably Dem strategist James Carville.
Did Republicans try and disrupt the Democratic Convention by committing acts of civil disobedience, and assault an 80+ yr old delegate to the Dem Convention? No that was Obama supporters.
Were McCain supporters’ hotel rooms raided in Denver and evidence of planned attacks against delegates (including weapons)retrieved? No, that was the Obama supporters in St Paul. Did Obama even speak out against the actions of these people? NO.
Did any credible witnesses actually witness any discussion of assassinating Obama at a Republican rally? No, that claim was made by a Dem Reporter and has been subsequently proven to have been a fabrication.
Did John McCain tell his supporters to intimidate and harass Obama supporters to include getting in their faces and loudly arguing with them? No, that was Obama.
Did a Republican Secretary of State have to be forced to send out hundreds of mail in ballots to registered Democrat voters by a federal judge? No, that was the Democrat Secretary of State in Ohio.
Did a Republican Secretary of State refuse to give the list of over 200,000 unverifiable voter registration forms to the county board of elections so as to prevent any of those quite possibly fraudulent voters from being challenged? No, again that was a Democrat Secretary of State. Ohio residents when your electric bill goes through the roof, and the coal industry is bankrupted from Obama’s Cap & Trade fiasco. You can thank your secretary of state.
Hundreds of deceased voters didn’t vote for McCain in the Texas Primaries. However hundreds in the Houston area did vote for Obama in the Democratic primaries. Chicago politics hits the gulf states.
I didn’t vote against Obama because he’s a black man, I voted against Obama because he’s the WRONG man. I didn’t vote against him because of the color of his skin, I voted against him because I found the content of his character lacking.

McCain is more than seven points behind. No one has EVER come back from a deficit like this with less than 24 hours remaining. The game is over.
If you care about the future of the Republican party, don’t waste your vote on McCain and his big-government, open-borders bullsh*t. Vote for Bob Barr and send the republican party a message! Everyone is entitled to their opinions and support for John McCain is a personal choice you have every right to, unfortunately like most of the right wing your post was fraught with statements which also apply to your own side. Such similarties you failed to even mention in the quest for a singular point that somehow your party is above the share of it’s own dirt.
From the top.
“You have to pinch yourself – a Marxisant radical”
If you are referring to his ’spread the wealth stance’ Sarah Palin herself was quoted as saying proudly in the beginning stretches of this long race that they in Alaska operated a little differently as they spread the wealth around with the citizens.
” who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters,”
John McCain himself had to denounce a pastor who said that the concentration camps and works by Hitler had been just. Sarah Palin attended a church in which the leader wanted to part from the US. John McCain received donations from a woman who was a domestic terrorist who killed a US doctor because he performed abortions. Finally…G. Gordon Libby anyone?
” is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it’s considered impolite to say so.”
Only when you are so blatantly desperate to pretend as if your own side is somehow angelic. The wondrous thing about the current media is if nothing else they are determined not to let the republican party snowball and sandbag as it has done in the past throwing lie upon lie at it’s opponents until it wins a dirty victory. I leave you with a simple little statement you would be wise to remember in the future ‘Point a finger at someone else and there are 4 more pointing back at you’
November 3, 2008 - 03:19 PM on November 3rd, 2008
McCain and Palin should stop spreading the lies in desperation.
Obama will win in a landslide.
November 3, 2008 - 03:21 PM on November 3rd, 2008
I am a male, I am a republican! I think McCain is a good guy, but honestly I do not see him a good choice due to health conditions, his position on the economy, and his running mate. He is old in age and lets be honest, Palin is not ready for to be a VP. These issues really bother me. A great deal! This campain has not been focused on facts or the economy, but more on hate and race. I really wish race was not such a big issue. But this election has shown me that racism still exist. I have heard numerous collegues say that they will not vote for Obama because he is black. WOW! Not because they differ on issues, but solely becasue he is a black man. This hurts me. If Barack wins I will be excited that history is being made. I can tell my children that I got to witnesss the first Black President. And honestly articles like this one has changed my vote. I will vote for change! I WILL STAND UP AND WATCH HISTORY BE MADE! We have to stop the hate! OBAMA will get this once undecided white man’s vote. He seems like a good guy! Anything is better than the last 8 years! STOP THE HATE!
November 3, 2008 - 03:21 PM on November 3rd, 2008
tomorrow ends the bullsh*t!!!!!! no more hype or rhetoric, tomorrow we will know the truth. it wont matter who is left, it will be over. as a black man looking at all the racist comments and tactics this cycle, i realize there are some whites who see this as a power struggle. not a political one, but one based on race and priviledge. im glad the world is looking as we truly show who we are. we can cause wars speaking of human rights and injustice, yet look at who we are right here. moral when its convenient and bigoted when there is nothing else to be. God bless you America, God bless u.
November 3, 2008 - 03:23 PM on November 3rd, 2008
You ought to be ashamed for clinging to racial profiling, in your tabulation of the undecided voters. Obama is for uniting people and here you are, peddling divisive politics.
November 3, 2008 - 03:27 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Your philosophy is sickening. Obama is not a marxist. Bush was a fascist and no one said anything. You can keep on lying like the diehard republicans have been doing. But its not going to work. Take the sheet off your heads, its a brand new day.

November 3, 2008 - 03:34 PM on November 3rd, 2008
You know, I think its so hilarious that conservatives love to portray democrats as these elitist, harvard educated, non-mainstream american Joe the Plumber-hating people. It’s textbook republican smear tactics. George W Bush went to Yale, and is in the third generation of an American political dynasty. John McCain is the son of a four star general. Sure, Barack Obama went to Harvard and is good with his words. But he was born to a single mother, was poor in his youth, and pulled himself up by his bootstraps every step of the way. Nothing was served to him on a silver platter! I can think of nothing more American-Dream’ish than that. John McCain joined the Air Force and crashed 3 planes. Not 1, not 2, but 3! If he wasn’t the member of an elite american dynasty, he would have been swabbing the decks of an aircraft carrier after 1 crash, if not kicked out entirely. He wouldn’t have crashed that 3rd time in vietnam, and been an american hero… Although Mr. McCain himself admitted to giving the vietnamese information(like the fact that his father was a 4star general, in exchange for medical treatment… Not that I wouldn’t have done the same thing under torture, but still, its a violation of air force code to give any info to the enemy…but whatever, its a moot point)Just like G.W. Bush,John McCain’s daddy bailed him out time and again. Barack Obama might as well have not even had a dad. But back to my point: John McCain is an elitist, but he appeals to narrow minded poor whites who are too fricking stupid to see past their guns, religion, single issue BS ideals. And of further note, I am a jew, and I can tell that this website is both very zionist and very anti black. Not that I don’t like Israel… but its so patently obvious that as the right’s base narrows, and gets more wingnut fringe fundamentalist conservative, it panders to the base, anti-intellectual racist in all of its followers, who so desperately want to mainstream their us versus them beliefs. I really just hope that some of you idiot single issue voters realize that the people pulling the strings of the republican party are big business-oriented wannabe oligarchs who pander to your stupid, ancient old testament-based belief system in order to line their coffers with gold, at your own dumbass expense. I just hope you enjoy losing this election.

You can try to put lipstick on bad situation, but people have woken up. Spell over. People are realizing that Obama is 110% the best guy for the job. If he can manage the best presidential campaign in history and assemble a great team from the start, he’ll work wonders with the economy and the PR disaster that are Bush, McSame and Tina Fey. When oil companies post record companies as people lose their homes and jobs and the only answer is more of the same, you know that even the people duped into voting for Bush twice will sit up and know that McSame is just more of the same.

We will all pay for welfare grabbers non working able people..as we get punished for acheiving!
Why send your kids to college? Obama will take more than 1/2 their money when they graduate!
Why work under Obama?
We should all quit our jobs and stand in welfare lines to get free obama dollars why work?
If I can get a working mans money why should we work I say…IF Obama wins we all let the democratic congress pay OUR bills!

mcRage is a 2-dollar crackwhore for Big Defense, Big Oil and Big Nuclear. he’s never made a move without major consultation from his handlers in those groups. As far as “experience” and “mature judgement” goes: picking a frozen-smile’d brain-dead plastic puppet as his VP, in a red-meat move to “energize” “the base”, is hardly the work of a “maverick”.. its the rove-ian ploy of a desperate, damaged old fool with no principles. god help the planet if this pathetic twosome gets within a hundred yards of the white house.

Go McCain/Palin…we need this…especially when some moron assassinates Nobama and we are left with Biden and Pilosi? Are you f-ing kidding me?

If I was an undecided voter, I would have to lean towards Obama just for the fact that McCain has led the most hateful campaign I have ever seen in my 30 years of voting. From the get go, he chose to smear Obama with lies and conspiracy theories. I would hate to have anyone like him and his advisors leading our country. McCain’s campaign has been nothing about his platform, just smearing Obama. You have to vote for character and leadership…not anger and power mongering. Vote Obama for Change!
November 3, 2008 - 04:02 PM on November 3rd, 2008
The “left” is not afraid of this crazy blog post. Just here to hopefully shed some light on how INSANE this article actually is. Get your heads out of the sand!!! McCain won’t win. If he actually does- it proves 1) that Republicans know how to cheat elections & 2)we still have a long way to go with conquering racism in this country.

Dear Alex,
John McCain was in the Navy, and not the Air Force.
John McCain was refused treatment until the NV found out his father was a four star admiral, not general, in the United States Navy. John didn’t volunteer this fact to them…the NV found it out all on their own. As the war progressed, and his father was named commander of all U.S. forces in the Vietnam theater, the NV wanted to release him, but John said no, not until everybody goes home.

I’m a republican and there is NO WAY I’m voting for McCain. He will most likely either become sick and die and Palin would end up being our President lol….Not going to happen on my watch. I can’t believe that the world is finally seeing “America” for who we are. As a white male I am SICK by the comments family members, friends, and associates have made as to why they are not voting for Obama. BECAUSE HE’S A BLACK MAN. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! And people say racism is dead. We as a “white race” are always saying “why won’t they move on and forget about what happen” That’s kind of hard when comments are made about assassinations towards our President because he’s black. America needs Obama!!!!!!!!

If i had a bunch of friends, and thet all voted for McCain and I was to differ, then i wouldn’t get mad at them. it’s human life of how people think other people are suppose to agree with them all the time and have the same opinon. That’s why it’s an opinon! it’s DIFFERENT! so vote fo rwho YOU want to. but don’t sit there and trash talk any other personr unning for president because guess what, THEY are running and what are you doing? sitting down on a computer, yelling/typing at people for their different opinon. how lame are YOU?

And most of the hate mongers call themselves Christians. Everyone who hates Obama says he is everything but a child of God. So tell me, on this last day before the election. Why should I vote for McCain/Palin again? Are they the ones with the most moral beliefs? If so, why smear Obama as they’ve allowed their supporters to do? If this election is not about the issues – economy, education (quite a few voters need to be educated), energy, etc – then someone please tell me what it IS about. Or should I believe it’s really about race?
November 3, 2008 - 04:23 PM on November 3rd, 2008
also, “GO BIG BLUE” YOU ARE WRONG! EVERY SINGLE HUMAN ON THIS EARTH IN THE U.S THAT IS REGISTERED TO VOTE, VOTES ON TUESDAY!! NOVEMBER 4!! THERE IS NO DEMOCRATS 4TH N REPUBLICANS 5TH. Think about it. why would they do that? knwoign all these ppl voting for obama will vote on tuesday and McCain wednesday? that’s way too obvious letting everybody know who they are voting for. Therefore, if you vote on the same day, the privacy of a voter is secure without any1 knowing who they are voting for.

It is hearting to see others expose the RFepublican lie machine for what it is. There used to be a party of Ike, Goldwater, Percy, Javits, many different views, all respected. That party has been dead for 28 years. Call yourselves something else. Thank God for deliverence from the Pharaoh rule of Rove, Cheney and all their cronies.
November 3, 2008 - 04:26 PM on November 3rd, 2008
To vote for or against a candidate based solely on race is wrong. I find it interesting that many leftists point to the right as racist, while it is the left that keeps harboring on race. Just consider the words of Obama’s “spiritual advisor,” advocating the advancement of black America (not America united). In fact, for more information on this, see the following link to Huntley Brown’s comments, who is an African American. They are right on mark.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/huntleybrown.asp
Instead of rhetoric, why don’t we shift the focus back to Obama’s actual records? The fact that he voted neither for nor against in the State legislature of Illinois 130 times. Or the fact that he broke from his party and voted that a fetus alive after an abortion deserves no rights at all and can simply be destroyed for convenience. Or the fact that Chicago has one of the highest tax rates in the US and one of the lowest performing school systems. Or that he promised public financing of his campaign and lied. Or that he has a tax plan that independent analysts suggest will increase those paying NO tax at all from 38% to 48% at the hand of ALL tax paying Americans. Or that he was unaware of the views of his spiritual advisor and his aunt’s illegal status. Or that his running mate gave virtually no money to charity on his own yet both of them feel we should be mandated to “distribute the wealth.” (By the way, I agree with giving to those less fortunate, but it should be a personal choice, not a government mandated initiative). And I could go on and on….
I advocate simply looking at the facts of his record, not the image portrayed behind teleprompters, speechwriters, and a media that quickly chose a preferred candidate.

November 3, 2008 - 04:30 PM on November 3rd, 2008
I enjoy reading these posts simply because of the difference in them. While McCain supporters back up their beliefs and points of view with facts and logical reasoning, the Obama supporters simply chant, “We want change!” and “Obama for President!” and “We hate Bush!” Any educated American would realize just how different McCain is from Bush. If you’re going to vote for Nobama, at least vote for an educated reason. Not because you’re black and he’s black. It’s so ridiculous. I’m not voting for McCain because he’s white.
Obamas complete lack of regard for our country and its people scares the hell out of me. Above and beyond that, the mass cult-like following he’s created through what obviously must be some kind of brainwashing tactic is beyond me. He’s in this for himself. Period.
I don’t have much hope left for McCain, but I will say this. When Obama is elected, I can’t wait to sit back and watch the sh*t hit the fan in this country and for the Democrats to say.. “What the hell did we just do?” so that we can just laugh and say “We told you so”
Of course, they will probably find some way to blame it on the Republicans anyways.
Oh well. Maybe I’ll join the legions of Obama supporters, quit my job, and suck money off of other hard working citizens.

There are many loud and profane mouths on this site.
If you have something constructive to say, say it. If all you can do is rant and make wild-eyed accusations, you will not convince anyone of anything, only that you are too irresponsible to be allowed to vote.
I long for the days when McCain was an honorable man. I had hoped that he learned something from the smear campaign that Karl Rove orchestrated against him in the 2000 Republican Primary campaign. But apparently, McCain learned the wrong lesson. He hired Rove.

you people are the most racist, shallow ,small minded that i have ever read. face it no one wants a half dead racist in office. who instead of just calling obama a nigger would just slide it in( put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig). thats what you want running the country. someone who instead of picking a real running mate would just pick a chick, any chick; buy her some fancy pant suits and say “this is it”. if i was republican i would have been insulted. if obama had picked hilary she wouldent have even been a thought. but hey more power to her. if mccain doesent win they will blame palin for the loss, when in fact the campaign should blame themselves. either way white america has to accept it anyway because this whole country is stolen, so black or white isent the issue. this land belongs to the indians and i think they would agree that killing someone and taking thier land is white trait and making the best with what you have is a everyone else trait. true or false. you wont jack this election like the last two, so suck it up!!!!!
November 3, 2008 - 04:33 PM on November 3rd, 2008
HB & C Quote: you sit back and call anyone who doesn’t vote for Obama a racist. What do you call it when a Black man gets 98% of the black vote! If Obama was white and gave the same speaches, stood for the samethings he does now do you really think he would carry 98% of the black votes! I am sick and tired of you guys pulling out the race card when someone disagrees with you. I don’t believe in TAX AND SPEND DEMOCRATS. I believe everyone deserves a HAND UP but we have a whole group of people in this country (White, Black, Red, Yellow whatever) that expect a HAND OUT.

omg this is not because he is a black man or muslim or anything to do with race or religion!!!!!!!
I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN VOTE FOR A MAN THAT ‘WILL NOT’ SAY THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, ‘WILL NOT’ PUT HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART AND SAY THE NATIONAL ANTHEM, ‘WILL NOT’ FACE THE AMERICAN FLAG, AND ‘WILL NOT’ WEAR THE FLAG PIN… am i lost or do we live in ‘THE UNDITED STATES OF AMERICA’?????????? how, how can the people of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA turn their backs on the UNITED STATES…. are we UNITED or are we just as bad off as other countries, do we not want FREEDOM, does everyone want to just to see CHANGE … He cant change the economy he says he will but he wont… dont you think that if their was a way that CONGRESS would have already done so… do you honestly think he can take care of health care and make everything better… yeah he is going to cut things… what is he going to cut HE HAS YET TO SAY!!!! and Taxes PLEASE if he taxes the bigger companies do you know how many jobs that will cut… I AM SORRY TO SAY BUT THE BIGGER THE COMPANY THE MORE EMPLOYEE’s the more JOB CUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! and can i just say for the record that health care as John McCain has said Health Care is a Responsibility…. which MEANS that If you have a Job and are ‘Responsible’ you should and would more than likely have health care… Meaning so Most companies offer ‘Cobra’ which is for when either you are retired or quit or fired… Retired it pays for your Insurance till you decided you dont want it or need it!!! You Quit your job or you are Fired it last for at least 90 days till you get a NEW job and ARE RESPONSIBLE!!!!!!!! SO HEY GET OFF THE COUCH GET A JOB AND YOUR HEALTH CARE IS IN FRONT OF YOU!!!!!!!!!! AMERICA GO AHEAD VOTE OBAMA!!! and guess what that means WE ARE NO LONGER THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA we are then going to be DIVIDED HUSSEIN OBAMA!!!!
November 3, 2008 - 04:41 PM on November 3rd, 2008
For starters I don’t really give two cents about what you people think.
Second, I followed a link to this from yahoo…and the title says right voices….so why is there so much McCain bashing going on in here.
The attempt at confusing voters into thinking the parties vote on different days is despicable and those who started it should be ashamed of themselves. Unfortunatley there are people dumb enough to fall for it, I’ve listend to tons of BS fly back and forth from both sides in this “see how many insults and hatred we can drum up for the other guy” but making a pitiful attempt such as that to cheat the election is down right wrong.
Please people, vote for the person that you feel can run the country the best based on an informed decision, not the fear mongering, biased fact twisting view from the media and both parties. If you feel McCain can do a better job than Obama, or Obama can do a better job than McCain then vote for them without being under pressure from the hate spewing maniacs that I’ve seen post in here and on other sites and in the media.
As a first time voter and even in elections past it has always disturbed me to such a deep level that I grew up being told that our country was founded on the piilosphy “United we stand, Diveded we fall” yet I watch as we tear ourselves apart from the inside by fighting amongst ourselves. This country isn’t ‘United’ anymore, and it hasn’t been for quite some time. I never hear the news media refer to just ‘the people’ its always republicans and democrats. Fighting like children to be ontop of the pile.
Tomorrow I’m going to walk into that voting booth and vote for the man who I believe will uphold the ideal of being united under one flag not divded under two parties, and no one, not even my mother, will know who I truley voted for. No amount of media personalities or hate spewing posters and bloggers will change my decision.

I myself was a Vietnam Veteran and can not say that i would not have broken under the torture. I can see now that a veteran of any war is not a person you speak good of. And i doubt ANYONE of you could have survived the torture. You have put down a hero and you call yourselves americans. The media has never been FAIR in this election. The birth certificate ( no coverage and no answer) Palin clothes (media coverage 24/7) illegal aunt (no coverage and no answer), acron (no coverage and no answer)TALIBAN (our enemy writing Obama for President)(no coverage and no answer). NO EXPERIENCE on the LEFT, EXPERIENCE on the RIGHT. QUESTION if McCain was a BLACK rep Vietnam Veteran would you all have let people talk about him the way people have. I DOUBT IT but since he is white i guess its ok. I lost a lot of good black friends in that war, close friends AND I WOULD NEVER DEGRADE A VETERAN OF ANY COLOR, but this election has come to that. McCain FOUGHT-SUFFERED-AND SERVED THIS COUNTRY. you ever talk about one of my black friends i lost in Vietnam and i will destroy you, oh and by the way I AM WHITE. But we had a bond that no black or white man will understand if you were not there. YES i voted McCain cause he has the experience in hand to fight our enemy, Obama has none, he has fought against his own party, Obama has fought no one, just agreed with them. WAKE UP

Wow, I am really happy I read this blog. Not for the original post or the hateful, racist comments, but for the number of people who are standing up to the GOP fear machine.
Will Obama fix everything? Of course not. No single man is going to fix this country’s problems, but his acceptance as President of the United States is a step in the right direction.
The people who are truly going to make this country great again are you and I. Soon we will be free of the lies, fear mongering, and corruption of the Republican party. We will be able to rebuild positive relations with the rest of the world and, most of all, focus on America, rather than waste time, money, and human life trying to be “world police”.
While hardcore republicans mock Obama’s promise of “Change”, real change has already begun. People are standing up and no longer accepting the BS we’ve been fed for the last 8 years.
November 3, 2008 - 04:51 PM on November 3rd, 2008
2thepoint, if this is a stolen country, then why do you choose to be an accessory to the crime??? Do you think the thought of restoring ownership to the “Indians”(I think you meant Native Americans) ever crosses Obama’s mind?
November 3, 2008 - 04:56 PM on November 3rd, 2008
If you’ve been paying attention for the last eight years the clear choice is Obama. The GOP and Bush have driven the once greatest country on earth right into a ditch. A vote for McCain is a vote for four more years of a failed Presidency.

I only wish she could have hung on for a couple of more days to see her grandson become the first African-American man elected to be president of the US.

Before the presidential campaign began, I believed that even if the Republicans won the election we would at least have in McCain a man of integrity and honor. Now, having watched the McCain/Palin team conduct a campaign full of negativity, smears, and outright lies, I’m left wondering where the man I thought McCain was has gone.

Let me start by saying I am firm believer that people have the right to their own opinion; yes, even if it is different than mine! Also, I do not let the Obamamedia influence me, but I am still voting for him.
However, I am particularly disgusted with the dispicable lengths some Republicans have gone through to try to stop Obama supporters from voting! Leafleting African American neighborhoods in Philadelphia stating that people with outstanding parking tickets or other infractions will be arrested at the polls; in Virginia, handing out flyers that there is such a large voter turnout expected, they have split voting into 2 days — Republicans on Tuesday and Democrats on Wednesday; and hiring a private investigator to harrass Hispanic-Americans about the their legality and right to vote….
Even my Republican brothers were disgusted!

BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA is the most ignorant, uneducated, racist, former crack smokin’ down low homosexual to ever get this close to the White House.
The blacks in America have proven that 9/10 of them are more racist than the white population. It’s funny. Add that to the ignorant whites who grew up listening to this hateful hip hop and RAP that has caused an entire generation of people to have no respect for themselves or anyone else.
Barack Hussien Obama will never step a foot into the white house and I PRAY that if he wins, someone kills him.
I’m going to release a song called President killer and see how many records I can sell. After all, didn’t Ice-T sell millions of hateful, racist records, one called COP KILLER in the 90’s???
These racist pigs will reap what they have sowed.
Cheers,

Well if, in the worst case scenario I can imagine, McCain were to win at least there is an upside. I haven’t seen Burns and Allen in years and can’t wait for McCain to que up his “Say goodnight, Sarah” line which of course would spur the reply “Goodnight, Sarah”
November 3, 2008 - 05:01 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Yes!!! Black presidents only in movies. But times are changing Baby!!!! get used to this sweeping change else you will die in your dreams.
Who ever told you McCain is 100% American? All of you Americans are refugees. You are all settlers. So stop this foolishness of calling a whiteman 100% American.
November 3, 2008 - 05:03 PM on November 3rd, 2008
McCain is Bush who ruined the country. Are you red conservatives nuts? McCain loves himself more than his country. America is in the ditch and you Republicans should be grovelng for forgiveness for what Bush/Cheney did to the country. Shame on all of you idiots.

Pam,
I know you want things to be the way they’ve always been, but things have changed. I know that you are afraid that you will lose all you have. I hope that you don’t. If you do, it will be due to the Voodoo Dubya economic backlash (VD) where the CEO top-heavy, take all you can & run bs policies fed the fat cats and left you hungry. The trickle down effect you’ve been waiting for stopped long ago and pooled at a senior level that cares nothing about you. They’ve never cared about you, unless you’re one of them that had the inside scoop on when to run. Otherwise, you, and thousands of repub-pawns like you have been fed just enough to keep you around in case a scapegoat was needed. And for the record, when the rats abandon ship, it’s always a bad sign. (duh) They just didn’t tell you when to run and millions of true Republican believers trusted foolishly.
Since 1949 this wisdom has held true in all areas of government, including the GDP:
“If you want to live like a Republican, vote Democrat.” Harry Truman
Good luck

Honestly true, from one Vet to another, thats crap. “The media is biased, the media is biased” You don’t like the news, turn it to the next channel, although thats crap too, the most biased station is Fox. No experience on the left eh, whats Joe Biden, chopped liver. I mean he’s no Joe the Plumber, but thats a good thing. (means Joe Biden pays his taxes and doesn’t claim to be a plumber while not licensed)And as one Vet to another, next time you’re scanning the Tv and you pass some report about American Troops dying in Iraq, don’t change the channel, sit there and think about it. They are dying for a political war, no just cause, no just reason, just like your friends did in Vietnam. Your beloved John McCain, American hero that he is, is willing to let un told more die out of pride and arogance. Thats John McCain. I’m not even going to start on his running mate, too easy too sad and I’ll just let latenight TV take care of the national punchline Palin.

November 3, 2008 - 05:07 PM on November 3rd, 2008
This is response to your Mr. Brandon Lamar and all you others voting for obama…………..You are the one who needs to stop lying to yourself. One of the qualifications to run for President, is that you were born in the U.S.A Obama does not meet that qualification. He was born in Kenya also if you are a true American how can you vote for someone who turns his back on our national flag? And if you are a true Christian who in there right mind would vote for someone who puts down the Holy Bible? So all you Obama lovers you need to stop and think about all of this before you open your big mouth. Go do the research on Obama before you put him on a pedestal. I am not raciest But Obama don’t share the same values as I do. Also Obama don’t care about killing babies that so what makes you think he cares about you? McCain is also for the Vets who served this great land what is NoBAMA plan to do for the Vets.

You people are so ridiculous with your lies and accusations of Obama-He is NOT a Muslim, NOT an Arab, NOT a socialist (Brian Moore is the Socialist Party candidate for 2008), and other lies, such as saying that Obama’s proposed tax cut is ONLY for people who don’t work and don’t pay taxes. That even sounds too stupid to write. If you had one brain among all of you you’d know that you haven’t been listening, because you don’t want a person of color to be POTUS, no how, no way. Well, be a racist a$$hole if you want, but I’m not voting for more of the same McCain and his 3rd wife, Sarah Falin!
All your lies make me all the happier to know that McSame’s gonna lose, and lose badly!!

Wow, it is a blizzard of postings by the Obama campaign internet team! All these nonsensical screen names. I wonder if RV is getting the attention of just one Obama apparatchik, or there are more.
Let’s get one thing straight: While it’s flattering that RV is getting so much attention, don’t think for one minute your posts are having any effect. The regular posters here laugh at them, they are so utterly moronic.
Yes, we are laughing at you fools, you idiots, you douchebags!

Or McCain’s mind, for that matter? I say THIS: I respect YOURS and EVERYONE’s opinions, rights, and concerns On this blog site. And my hope is that we would be a United people, not a bunch of divided groups, hating each other more than our enemies who want to see the end of this country.
November 3, 2008 - 05:10 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Folks,
For those of you that are still voting against yourselves no matter what they do to destroy this country, all I can say is, evolve.
This country is and that’s why we are voting to save it by voting for NO MORE years with the party that took more than they gave..
I care about what this country has gone through, why can’t you? Open your eyes and look around you. The country is in turmoil, people are losing their homes, their jobs.. what more do you need to make the change?
God bless America – please!

Well laugh it up Robert, keep laughing while you salute President Obama. And don’t worry, I’ll be back in a few days for some playful gloating about your landslide loss. I’m sure it’ll be all warm and fuzzy.
November 3, 2008 - 05:13 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Everyone that is not voting for Obama “MAY” not be a racist but what has McCain did except voted with Bush 90% of the time (his own words). So what he’s a Veteran….are we saying anyone that’s a Veteran is fit to run our country! McCain rants he’s a Maverick lol, if you agree with him you need to look up what a true Maverick is. McCain has been spewing Obama is a socialist yet McCain went on Larry King and said NO, he DOES NOT really think Obama is a socialist. So people get off this he’s a Veteran tip bc that has nothing to do with running the country! Do we think Cheney endorsed McCain because he is offering ideas that differs from the past 8 yrs?? I don’t agree with everything Obama says but it sounds much better than the same 8 years of Billsh#t we are coming out of!!!
November 3, 2008 - 05:15 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Holy moly why all caps? It caught my eye though, or else I would have walked on by. But since I’m here I’ll comment by saying it’s sickening to see the ignorance this country has bred. So many racist, intolerant, moronic, ignorant, mindlessness nincompoops America produced. “Gateway pundit” “love[s] [the] last line” where it says “whites” are among the most undecided. Then you boo hoo when others call smucks like you racists. Well, you’re a racist and a fool. Good riddance to incompetence. I can’t wait till we smarten up this country by voting in an intelligent, education loving, calm-confident, pragmatic and open-mined president. Then we’ll get the respect we’ve lost, and hopefully educate some of those incapable of critical thought (meaning to discern fact from fiction, i.e. able to process and reflect upon tangible or intangible items in order to form a solid judgment) fools – if it’s not too late for them (you).

Congrats, Obama2008-
Why would I want things to always be the same? I’m not dumb enough to lose all I have. I wasn’t waiting for anything to trickle down on me either. By inside scoop, do you mean the ability to watch the markets, understand the markets, and have the knowledge of how to react to the markets? It’s called education..Try it! That way you won’t be dependent on the government.

Having been in the advertising field for years, I am very able to recognize a slick campaign…and Obama has been living one his entire adult life. Every move this person has made in the past 20 or more years has been calculated to promote himself politically. He says what the current audience wants to hear, appears well, speaks well, avoids all input that might deviate from the program. He quickly rose up through the ranks of the Chicago Political Machine, which is the foremost, and strongest example of “old school” ruthless politics that exists in the United States. (so much for a “different” type of politics. or “Change”.) He surrounded himself with subversive intellectuals who espouse a turnover of the status quo. His early study was under Marxist proponents, and black militant mentors. He learned well the modus of redistribution of wealth and Power. He exelled in the study of voting law and used the system to eliminate any competition.
He is smooth talking and appeals to the guilt of white liberals who throw their money and support his way, following his every move like brainless lemmings. Adding this to the many millions of “unattributied Donations” due to the fact that his campaign accepts all donations without proper legal verification, has given him the ability to PURCHASE the US media and the votes of the naive US youth. In other countries we call this socialist or communist PROPAGANDA. See it for what it really is. A very smooth, very slick advertising campaign waged to steal your freedom, and have government dictate all courses of action for the individual, with no checks or balances to protect you.
Get out and Vote…it will be your last stand tomorrow, after that you reap what you sow, and ignorance will not be bliss!

Confused, there are allot of people hurting, people are worried, we are not a peace and we are on the brink of becoming a failed country AND we are still deeply divided it would seem. As an independent, my problem with the right over last decade is they tend vote on perceived values which they fail to realize thier politicans are no different than other politicians who say anything to pander to thier beliefs, rather than voting on facts and being objective of the job candidate. I grew up in midwest, midwest values and allot of war veterans in my family but guys we have to vote on performance here, IT AINT WORKIN’. There was a time and place for McCain, and those times have passed a long, long time ago. Now, more than ever we need energy and thoughtful, skillful leadership, McCain while decorated and honorable has been aside Bush, its a fact, and he is just not the person able to tackle this heap of crap his buddy GW left this country in. We need inspiration, something intangible and that is what Obama brings to the table, rhetoric from folks like Honestly True is all they have to cling to, and that is not thier fault, it’s just what they perceive. I would challenge people to think outside the box, and put some faith into our youth, the next generations and the future generations who will have to also share in this burden and why most of them think so highly of this candidate. Obama for change, go vote.
November 3, 2008 - 05:19 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Dan, and others, you’re idiots! You are totally dumb to the facts about blacks and voting.
You are claiming something about blacks voting 98% for a person of color? Well, blacks have voted 98% for white people, 98% of the time!! All across this nation, blacks have voted for white people FOR YEARS! Blacks were barred from running for even dog catcher for centuries, you idiots!!
White people who wouldn’t even give them the time of day – blacks voted for them if they were allowed to vote, time after time, in hopes that they could get a fair chance. All they got was kneejerk racists like you bitchin’ and moanin’ about how you can’t get this or that because of Affirmative Action, and filing phoney a$$ lawsuits about “reverse discrimination.” You ungrateful dogs, you don’t know you don’t get the opportunity because your poor trash behind is NOT QUALIFIED!
Not because of quotas, but because you are ignorant, illiterate, and uneducated. Nobody’s taking your jobs, YOU CAN’T HANDLE the job. Nobody’s keeping you out of colleges-YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO GET INTO THE COLLEGES! Just because someone of color gets in a school or a job YOU couldn’t get doesn’t mean the standards were lowered. Let me explain things for you in what is plain ENGLISH (can you even read it?): It means the requirements were raised, and your sorry behind couldn’t cut it!! If you had what it takes, you would have made it! Stop using sorry excuses to make up for your total incompetence-stop blaming others, minorities, women, and blacks for your inadequacy.

I assume that Alex is not an American – not very bright and unable to use technology to check his facts. I am European but last night read up on McCain on the web. He has a very impressive record for his time; in naval service and politics. Obama has proved himself to be very capable and approaches life from a different angle. Both men deserve respect, however you vote. It is time for a calm view of the election process and sensible evaluations. You are voting not only for the President of your country but the leader of the free world. So! your input directly affects the rest of us.

If McCain really wanted my vote he’d promise to prosecute G.W. for murder and treason and sentence him to Iraq. I was a republican for 50 years, W changed that. Bush and Cheney have invaded every right we have and you can bet that if even ONE of the claims of Barak having any ties what-so-ever to all the things the racists have accused him of that duo would have hauled him to Cuba long ago. I was drafted in 1968 and can tell you this, being a POW doesn’t provide any experience at all toward the Presidency yet that seems to be McCain’s main qualification. I don’t know why either of these guys would want the mess W. has left us but I do believe Barak has the best chance of saving the USA. Let’s try ‘trickle up’ economics for a while.

at this point everyone needs to really ask themselves if they can afford to make the wrong choice and have to live with it for four years. History has proven manyh times that when libocrats are in charge the world and america become a much more dangerous place…don’t let them fool wyou with thier used car salesman pitch…read the fine print about what Barrack Hussein Osama is really planning…and does everyone recall the last time we had a lawyer in the white house?
I do not believe in polls – for those of you who do and are dancing with glee (and doing some other things to make you feel good)….Obama is not the messiah or the answer to the nations problems…may god help us if you cannot see this truth and you go against common sense and vote for him…

Hi, Iam an average “Joe” like most of u guys and up until today, I was somewhat undecided and pretty much strafing to the left, because of Sen. Obama’s tax cuts plans.
But I think i changed my mind today, while watching CNN there was a report on the amount of debt the next president will have to face and it was in its trillions, I think about $72 trillion to be precise, and it also stated the the country is spending more than it gains, So i was wandering if this is the case, then Obama tax cuts will be of no good to me, because I love my country and if we keep spending more than we gain, our beloved country will be in a mess in no time.
It is a totally insane idealogy Obama has proposed, let us not be fooled “Spreading the Wealth” is a bad thing and not a good thing. Tell me how can you “Spread the Wealth” when u haven’t got a plan on how to “Aquire wealth”, We cant afford to spend anymore money, No more spending!!!, We have to cut our spending and let the country live on a budget like we do.
Obama doesn’t have our best interest at heart, what he wants is to get his name in history books, crash the nation and go on. So think about the future, the future of ur beloved nation, ur childrens future, and Vote John McCain cuz he is a true American, A patriot, A Hero, A fighter, and together we would fight for a wealthy, better and safer tomorrow. DON’T GIVE UP! CUZ ITS NOT OVER UNTIL ITS OVER Vote! Vote! Vote! John McCain and Sarah palin. Thank you, AND GOD bLESS.

libocrats are in charge the world and america become a much more dangerous place
on’t let them fool wyou with thier used car salesman pitch
Well, the last former used car salesman to be elected was Nixon, pretty proud of him are you?
As to America (Note the capitalization) becoming a more dangerous place…please define. We are in two wars, the rest of the world hates us, mass unemployment leads to crime, suicide and low self-esteem. Our debt is 10 trillion thanks to GW and you think it can get worse? BTW, based on your spelling our education system needs work, too.

For Zoomy
Staring at a college level history book. The Stock Market collasped, Hoover (Republican) had the idea that it would blow over shortly, he then stood around for 4 years while unemployment reached 25 percent, got tossed out. FDR comes in, used government money (heard this one before?) to put people to work, established billions of dollars of public work organizations, formed the Central Banks, the FDIC and saved the nation. Now lets sit back and watch history repeat itself.

Hello Everyone,
I am a Nigerian. I am pround to be a Nigerian, no matter the negative impression anybody has about my country, because nobody is a saint. Firstly, i will like to commend the posting of Riana above. From her statements, i realise and wonder why a kettle should be calling a pot black.
The man called pam that posted this is also an anti-american by posting all these rubbish. If he was a true American, as Americans are advocating unity and peace, he wouldn’t have released his statements.
Most of this negative reactions from the republicans are based on racism, envy and jealousy. America needs a serious change, if not its empire will fall sooner than expected as no empire is forever. Today, where are the roman, greek, Britian, russian empires? The next empire is China and then Africa.
Nature is taking its course. God almighty is a wonderful God. Our forefathers were your slaves, but our children will be your king. No matter how the republicans double their numbers.
Thanks.
Sigismund.

“Dave you better get out your wallet too if Obama gets in. Because you’ll need it for that $6 gasoline on the way:”
Yeah cause we’re doing so well now, the economy has so tanked that people can no longer afford to even pay for gas thus leading to th drastic decline in price. Sarah Palin is chanting drill baby drill of course leaving out it would take 10 or more years to get an amount of gas which wouldn’t even manage to service a quarter of the United States and you folks are talking about ‘Obama and 6 dollar gas’. That’s just sad. Your party had a chance, you sucked hard, and now you’re suffering for it…and it’s hilarious when big name republicans publicly denounce the party. Go Obama! Most of you supporters were still kissing George Bush’s *** when your kids were being blown up in Iraq.

I just want to take a moment to thank and congratulate members of the Obama team who are posting here. Keep up the great work! I am very impressed by the quantity of posts; you are overwhelming your opponents by sheer volume!
I notice some of you are offscript somewhat; let’s face it what you are posting is way below the quality of what you were given. But that’s okay in the long run, because the kind of simpleton that would vote according to what you posted is who we are targeting; the dumber the better!
So just keep up the volume! BTW we will check your PCs after the campaign and will record how many posts were made by each of you. After the Obama coronation in January, the top 3 posters will get free paid trips to meet with Jihadists to be congratulated for your work! It’s a free vacation to the mountains of Afghanistan, and who knows, you might even get to meet Osama (yes, I meant Osama, not Obama!).
And you never know…your work here is a real resume builder! You could parlay it into a journalism position with the New York Times!
So get back to work, comrades, and remember: Our “truth” is the only “truth”!!!

“…Sarah Palin is chanting drill baby drill of course leaving out it would take 10 or more years ”
With that one statement, taken right out of Nancy Pelosi’s mentally-ill talking points, you have shown you do not even have a basic enough understanding to comment on the subject.
Buh-bye!

“With that one statement, taken right out of Nancy Pelosi’s mentally-ill talking points, you have shown you do not even have a basic enough understanding to comment on the subject.
Buh-bye!”
The spelling is bye-bye. I wouldn’t typically correct this, but I have noticed with all the folky speak and dropping of g’s the Republican party has been looking like it’s in desperate need of a dictionary lately. As for the rest…well it’s hilarious. Most of you folks are repeating the biblical rubbish of Fox News which has been disproven by basically severeal news media, but of course that ‘darn liberal media’. Satisfactorilly you choose to ignore that which doesn’t fit what has been regurgitated into your minds by your handlers even as the number of sources disproving it grows. McCain and Palin have been naming names like school children telling a teacher. Most amusingly attacking everyone from Matt Damon to Ben Afleck for publicly having a difference of opinion. So you think Pelosi’s the only one who’s said this…ah Fox News is getting too lazy to even list the number of people who think it’s crap anymore. The good thing about the amount of misinformation you have is that it makes it easy for your own party to use you as badly as it uses everyone else.

Emanuel, I doubt if you were on the fence as you claim based on your follow-up comments but no matter. Bush inherited a little over 3 trillion in debt, is leaving behind nearly 10 trillion. What the fat cats are calling ’spreading the wealth’ is Obama’s plan to raise taxes on the wealthy and giving tax breaks to the middle class. If you are wealthy, I can understand your support for McCain and you should certainly vote for him. If the old fellow should die in office, just be prepared to live in a country run along the same lines as the local PTA. We can have a bake sale to raise money for your retirement.

Obama Internet Team Leader-
“I notice some of you are offscript somewhat; let’s face it what you are posting is way below the quality of what you were given.
It’s a free vacation to the mountains of Afghanistan, and who knows, you might even get to meet Osama (yes, I meant Osama, not Obama!).”
No offense, but calm down. Even though I’m too young to vote, I don’t stoop to the level you have. Excuse me, but some people need to trash the racist comments and start talking like civilized adults. I don’t like bad mouthing and although I can’t vote, I can at least be more mature. Please grow up. You’re setting a bad example for everyone voting for McCain.

The economic situation we are in could have been avoided or at the very least, contained 3 years ago, to a much smaller problem that what we are faced with today. The American Dream has become our National Nightmare. Extending credit to people that were not able to pay the loans back is not what the American Dream is. When questions were raised and the word investigation came up, the cries of RAAAACISM could be heard all throughout DC! A bill came up and our Senators had a chance to stop this in 2005. The vote spilt along party lines..but thank god Obama wrote that letter..it has made all the difference in the world!
November 3, 2008 - 06:07 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Actually very little, Robert. Everyone here would be shocked if they knew how little the Arabs actually receive for a barrel of oil. When we were paying just shy of $2 a gallon they received about $7 a barrel which sold here at around $40, the difference went into the pocket of the speculators. However, if your question implies we are oil hogs, you are right on point. It is a consumption issue and, yes, the world supply is finite. We got the wake up call in the 70’s and, while Europe responded with fuel-efficient vehicles, the good ol’ USA worked it’s way up to the Hummer.

Regardless of anyone’s political stance, it is important to remember that as the world sees it, we as the nation “by the people, for the people” have allowed the bloodshed, and chaos that is war run rampant like an unstoppable juggernaut. The anger and frustration has landed on our front porch in the form of 9/11. Instead of addressing, , and resolving the issues that led to the tragic and horrific events in New York, we have instead, decided to hit anything that appears to be a threat with the biggest stick we can find, and then stand on a chair in the kitchen screaming about how democracy can save the world. Funny thing…democracy, by its nature, must be the overwhelming wish and desire of the people. You can not cram it down a nation’s throat by force and expect them to come back asking for seconds…they have to be willing to stand by it, defend it, and nurture it just as we have had to do. And yet, as a nation, we have forgotten where we started, poor, in debt, divided into thirteen seperate countries, fighting to survive against everyone. It is easy to blame the Federal Government for our current troubles because it is big, slow, and in a sense, hobbled by its own girth, but in doing so, we are really blaming ourselves for our greed, inaction, and silence while we stood around and watched the monster we created, devour our freedoms and peace of mind that we have sacrificed lives for and strived to maintain as a legacy for our children. We have all fallen short in our duties as citizens by not being vigilant in ending injustice and inequality no matter the cost. Tomorrow, before you cast your ballot, reflect on our past, hope for our future, and vote your conscience.

“The economic situation we are in could have been avoided or at the very least, contained 3 years ago, to a much smaller problem that what we are faced with today.”
I am not an idiot. Three years ago is the past. Think of the future. Right now, I and a lot of others are focused on the future not the past.
“Extending credit to people that were not able to pay the loans back is not what the American Dream is. Even if the bill was passed, it would only delay, not stop, where we are now. I do believe that people should be able to pay their loans, but also keep in mind this. Have you ever taken out a loan? Ever notice how hard they can be to pay off if you are starting a family or living in a large one? Everyone has their own opinions on things, but Pam, you are currently taking it to a new level. Please, GROW UP.

Im just browsing campaign arguments between people. This one’s hilarious. Milla, your response to “Obama Internet Leader” or whatever is priceless. How much of an ignorant ass do you have to be to put up blind sarcasm in the middle of a political debate blog? If we lived a few centuries ago, Internet Leader would have been a good old fashioned clan member. Not quite as funny anymore…but ignorance does breed. That is all.
Good luck to everyone and may the best candidate win. Personally, I would choose Obama.
November 3, 2008 - 06:17 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Pam and Milla,
As a former banker I can tell you this. Far more loans now in default were granted to people refinancing their homes to buy and flip other properties for profit than to those lower income folks who over-bought. That’s the risk of investing in anything especially the stock market. Maybe you win maybe you lose, they lost not only the investment property that became rapidly devalued but also their homes that they risked with adjustable rate mortgages that they had planned to pay off in a couple years with profits.
November 3, 2008 - 06:20 PM on November 3rd, 2008
I am also glad to see that nearly all the comments here are in support of Barack Obama. I believe it will be an overwhelming win, and that all the “hopes for the Republicans” are written by the people who are being paid by John McCain. It’s going to be a beautiful day on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. We will finally have a President who honestly wants change for the better of everyone.
OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA…..
November 3, 2008 - 06:22 PM on November 3rd, 2008
How is it that EVERY poll I vote on shows McCain as a clear winner? VOTE!! VOTE!! VOTE!!! MCCAIN/PALIN. Don’t give that liberal racists a chance to ruin our country. They have plunged the economy into chaos with their propaganda and fear inciting media blitz in order to scare the ignorant and poor into thinking that he has any concern for them. Send them ck to where they belong. VOTE – speak out for the conservative people still the majority in this country.
November 3, 2008 - 06:25 PM on November 3rd, 2008
I have encountered white, conservative Republicans who plan to vote for Obama, not because they share his views but only because he’s black and they are excited to see to color line get broken. I admit to feeling the same excitement, but I have to vote by the issues, not by race, so I am voting for McCain. I just wish the first black person to run a credible campaign was not so far to the left! Why couldn’t we have someone like Collin Powell run for President?
I see a lot more sexism than racism this election. Some conservatives are voting AGAINST Palin rather than FOR Obama. They always site her lack of experience as the reason, but I don’t believe them. Being a governor of any state is better preparation for the presidency than being a fist term senator who has spent his entire senate career running for another office. I wonder how much better McCain would have done in the polls if he had chosen a man to be his running mate?
I also believe that the risk of McCain dying in office is exaggerated. His mother is still lucid and ambulatory in her 90s! The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, remember. I am afraid that this fear simply masks prejudice against women in higher office.
Therefore, I conclude that racism is overrated in this campaign and that sexism is underrated.
November 3, 2008 - 06:25 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Wow!!! Great stuff on so many levels.
I will be voting for Senator Obama. I think the Republican’s have really misrepresented what he is all about and I think he’ll do a great job.
November 3, 2008 - 06:25 PM on November 3rd, 2008
It’s interesting, the difference in language and attitude between Obama and McCain supporters. McCain’s crankiness is obviously wearing off on his supporters. I don’t look at this as a popularity contest. I believe that Obama is going to start moving our Country forward. John McCain just scares me.
November 3, 2008 - 06:29 PM on November 3rd, 2008
You know why blacks are supporting Obama, because they are just so fucking lazy, Iam black too, i can testify to that, with Obama they have seen a messaiah who will, take money from the hardworking whites and give to the lazy poor blacks.
And whites (DEMOCRATS) on the other hand, are so stupid that they can even see this coming… Have u ever asked:
1.Why are the prisons filled with blacks???
2.Why is africa so poor???
3.Why are Muslims in America mostly Blacks?
All these alL boils down to laziness.
So VOTE!!! JOHN McCain if u are a Hardworking White who doesn’t want his cash giveN to lazy blacks.
OR
If u are a Wise black Man like Me.
November 3, 2008 - 06:31 PM on November 3rd, 2008
Where do people get this idea from that Senator Obama is going to take money from the rich and give to the non working population? It just proves that whoever is saying this is ignorant and a racist because no matter what Senator Obama says, they can only hear what their racist brain processes. He stated he would cut taxes for the middle class to lessen the burden on us that are making less than $250,000 a year. He didn’t say he was giving money to people on welfare. By the way, I am sure there are a lot of “Joe, the plumbers” on WELFARE. Sure, there are a lot of people that abuse Welfare, but there are a lot of people who need it, i.e. the hundreds of thousands people who have lost their jobs this year. I am sure they need food stamps and other assistance to provide for their family. The people that relate to Joe the plumber and Joe six pack, I am sure you are not making over $250,000 a year. (Those are the ones that are at the rallies – Pam, I’m sure I saw you at one. Weren’t you the older lady who called Senator Obama an Arab and Senator McCain had to take the mic away from you?)
We all have to pay our share. I do not have any children, yet my property taxes doubled to build ten new schools. Why do I have to pay taxes to go towards schools that I have no children to attend? Because I do. It is what it is. We will always pay taxes. It’s what keep this great country running.
This is the best place to live. It would be even better if we got rid of the small minded racist.
For the person who wrote move to another country on one of the post, how about the racist people move to another Planet. The USA is a melting pot of all different types of people with different backgrounds. If the racist people can’t handle the America of tomorrow, I think they should move. How about to Mars?
November 3, 2008 - 06:38 PM on November 3rd, 2008
You know, Emanuel, I bet an educated black man like you would do a much better with your typing, vocabulary and composition if you’d just straighten up the eye holes in your sheet so you could see a little more clearly. Frankly, I do hope you keep spouting your racism in support of McCain on election eve. It’s probably one of the best arguments I’ve seen here to actually get anyone with a double-digit IQ to get out and support Barak. By the way, he is actually half-white, too, so no matter which race you really are you are a lot like him.
November 3, 2008 - 06:39 PM on November 3rd, 2008

“You know why blacks are supporting Obama, because they are just so fucking lazy, Iam black too, i can testify to that, with Obama they have seen a messaiah who will, take money from the hardworking whites and give to the lazy poor blacks.
And whites (DEMOCRATS) on the other hand, are so stupid that they can even see this coming: Have u ever asked:
1.Why are the prisons filled with blacks???”
A mixture of low-class, low-opportunity, bad influences and lack of support. Most of your views are ignorant and hate-filled. I know nothing I say will change that but if you assume prisons are filled with blacks becuase they’re ‘lazy’ then you’re hardly as intelligent as you claim to be. Atleast intelligently say the real reason they’re filled with blacks, the way the prison system offers no reform merely putting out prisoners of all races back on the streets with little skill or opportunity almost guaranteeing they’ll wind back up in prison.
“2.Why is africa so poor???”
Once again it’s obvious you have no grasp of history or information atleast. Africa was a thriving continent until it was effected first by the lashing of slavery by WHITES. After slavery corruption occurred, power was given to whites who lorded over the land keeping blacks down in subserviance. After that they appointed power to blacks who cared more about power and riches than their land and their people choosing to rape their own land in a desperate need for power. Africa is poor because it’s own natural resources are being shipped to the United States instead of staying within it’s land. The charity being donated to Africa are taken by it’s corrupt and idiotic officials. So on, so forth.
“3.Why are Muslims in America mostly Blacks?”
LMAO…I’m not even going to answer this. I’d have to get into the basis of the Muslim religion and that’s time wasted.
“All these alL boils down to laziness.”
Of course it does, no unjustice, unfairness, prejudice, corruption..none of that. Laziness.
“So VOTE!!! JOHN McCain if u are a Hardworking White who doesn’t want his cash giveN to lazy blacks.

I am thinking of the future and I am basing it on the actions taken by the 2 senators running for POTUS!
Have I ever taken out a loan? Yes. Are they hard to pay back? No, not when you take out a loan you can afford to pay back and you budget your money.

Its kinda half and half. The reason I won’t vote for Palin is because it is not time for a Woman VP. Yes, some people won’t vote for McCain because he choose a woman for his Vice President, but some people were driven away by the fact that she had a part in getting a man fired over family affairs. She misused her powers as a Governor. I am a woman, but as I said, we are not ready for a female VP.

Pam,
Ah, but there is a lot of difference in whether the person was low income or not. Some were thinking that the loose lending market might allow them to possibly achieve the American dream of owning their own home and were taken advantage of by unscrupulous lenders. I was, indeed, still in banking at the time and saw many examples of that. Others were well-off and refinancing everything they had to fix and flip properties for profit. Yes, all of it contributed to the problem but throwing it in an “end of the day” basket is merely the easy way out. This problem was caused by and contributed to by greed not a simple desire to improve one’s lot.

Reading sites like these take me back to my roots growing up in a rural, ignorant, community in the Midwest. As I have left the county, it amazes me how, whenever I return, how sharply racist and ignorant these “red state” people are. As a resident expert on red states, I can tell you, it doesn’t make any difference what is written to a republican, if they are not the top 1% earners, they do not have the capacity to understand the difference, anyway. That, my friends, is why Republican candidates get any votes at all.

Mike… You’re a fundamentalist asshole… and pretty soon there’s going to be less of you. Lets turn this country into the system built on facts and statistics… not a country where religious fundamentalists like McCain/Palin use fear against the american people and then insinuate that obama is a terrorist. You are what you hate. Religion has no right to infringe on the rights of others, and if you disagree than I guess you fit amongst the jihad extremists you fear. But whatever, tomorrow we’ll find out… in the meantime why don’t you go back and educate yourself in front of the silver screen

Quote “Dan, and others, you’re idiots! You are totally dumb to the facts about blacks and voting.”
So ProudLiberal, your telling me that Bill Clinton carried 98% of the Black vote? John Kerry carried 98% of the Black vote. I don’t think so!
You just proved my point! You can’t argue your point without resorting to name calling and insults.
I don’t beleive that in my orginal post I resorted to name calling I just stated the facts as I see them. ( Key the facts as I see them)
Do you really believe that if we elect Obama ( which BTW I could care less, the real power is in the House and Senate) that the world is going to fall in love with us and say oh look America is such a progressive new country they elected a black man! People don’t like people, regardless or race, color , creed or religion. When it’s all said and done more will be said than done no matter who is president.
The best that anybody can hope for is that whoever is President D/R that they dont’ have a majority in the House and Senate, because that my friends is a Dicatorship.

Yeah, The Government let us all down big time. Freddy Mac and Fannie May were forced to buy up those bad loans. In my opinion it was not a Democrat or a Republican failure; rather a larger failure of our entire system for which Allen Greenspan bears a great deal of blame.

Pam,
Let’s hear your qualifications for making that call. There’s a lot of difference between fraud and legally taking advantage of lower middle class people who would like to have what you have. There a many people to blame for the mortgage crisis, most of them are very well off. Very little, if any, blame stands with those who were given sub-prime mortgages

November 4, 2008 - 03:14 PM on November 4th, 2008
Pam,
As a banking insider from ‘05 thru ‘07 I can tell you what I witnessed.
You can blame them if you want but the blame for the mortgage crisis goes directly to independent mortgage companies, mortgage brokers, investment firms and real estate brokers/agents

November 4, 2008 - 03:24 PM on November 4th, 2008

Yes, BonBon, I seem to have forgotten. Racism is something only white people do, and more specifically, white Repuiblican/Conservatives.
The fact that no one but the Obama supporters was the first to bring up the issue of race on these threads makes no difference!
They throw down the race card, then when someone predictably reacts to it, they scream “RACIST!!!”
In fact these vermin are the racists…

You were sounding rational until you posted that.

If only I could, Robert, if only I could. Leading our troops into war without cause, presenting information we find out later he knew was erroneous as a justification. I do realize he is not far from the definition of a “high-functioning moron” and was surely influenced by Cheney but his actions were mostly to try to finish what his daddy didn’t. Today is no longer about Bush, however, and we can all only hope whoever comes next can restore respect for America in the world’s eyes.

My final word on this is that Obama will be the next President for a country where both parties admitted change was mandatory. Obama brought plans and ideas to the stage and gave details of what he thought might work. McCain brought anti-Obama sound bites and Joe the Plumber. He kept saying “I can fix that” but never gave any real info on his plan.
If you watched the gatherings of hundreds of thousands of Americans on the streets around the country last night you saw joy, hope and American spirit on the faces of people of all ages, race and religion including the 43% of the caucasians who voted for Obama.
I said earlier I have been a republican all my life. I voted for Robert Kennedy (a demo), Nixon, Ford, Regan, Bush Sr and Bush Jr. (the first time, not the 2nd) I also voted for Obama. I simply felt we should try intelligence since ingorance didn’t work out all that well over the past eight years.
Sure, I have reservations, I’m a small business owner and I have to trust Obama to keep his word until he doesn’t. I also said before he may not be the best candidate for me personally, I do think he is the best for America at this time.
Silly to say this but wouldn’t it be nice if all Americans could put the campaign behind them, lose any bigotry they might have, face the reality that our country is buried deep in serious problems and go forward with a willingness to help. I know, sounds like a speech from a Miss America candidate. Still, this is a country founded and built on hopes and dreams so there it is.
I do find it interesting that all the media, including the far left, keep referring to Obama as America’s first African-American President. Wouldn’t it be just as easy to see his white half as his black half? Any chance he could just be American and drop the African? No, I suppose not, somewhere along the line we (caucasians) got the idea we were a superior race and have managed to pass that down through generations. To that I say to the rest of my kind, hold your hand up against a piece of white paper…right, some shade of brownish-pink.

I will pledge only one thing: When I see Obama and Congress doing something that is right, that is good, I will support them. If they try to do something that is Unconstitutional, that is negative, that will hurt America as we know it, I will oppose them.
I don’t believe in change just for the sake of change.
November 5, 2008 - 12:57 PM on November 5th, 2008
Robert,
I completely agree with your first paragraph and I will do the same as I always have. As to change for the sake of change, I’m not so sure. I’ve faced times in my life, as perhaps have you, when change for the sake of change was necessary. As much as I’ve tried to plan my life’s path, there have been times I found myself on one that lead where I didn’t really want to go.

I’ll now take my 2 cents and move on. Best wishes to all for a bright future.

One more thing, I completely agree. The first thing, should be near the top, is the bigotry. As I posted earlier, this country needs to STOP even talking about race! Stop bringing it up! Just let it go! Things have fundamentally changed and if we can just let it go once and for all we can truly move forward. Unfortunately there are those like Jackson and Shartpton, that depend on racism and division. They all need to go away forever.
